- There may be more than one adult male per pride, in the case of brothers, or alliances.
- Females catch the prey, and the adult male lion(s) eat first.
- Normally, the least experienced hunters in the party drive the prey towards the better huntresses, who ambush.
- Young teenager (Who have not yet been admitted into the hunting party) and older lionesses usually stay from the hunt to baby-sit.

[TAIFA]

About her: A very individual, independent creature, she lives within her own thoughts. With acquaintances and strangers she tends to be reticent and reserved. Taifa is quite unpredictable and her friends never know whether they will find her friendly and charming, or lost in introspection. Extremely loyal to those she considers her friends; she wouldn?t hurt someone who?s helped her in the past. When unhappy or disappointed, she can be moody and temperamental, feeling misunderstood and unappreciated. A qualified worrier and pessimist most of the time, she is the type to think that things can always get worse. Extremely shy and introverted, but in battle, she is as graceful as she is deadly.

Name meaning: Tribe.
Gender: Female.
Species: Common Tribe Lion.
Status: Mated.
Special Traits: Only one Tailfeather, amnesiac after an attack.
Hobbies: Stargazing, hunting, thinking.
Rank: Huntress, cubsitter.
RPing Color: Violet.

Story: Uhamisho the lion was king of a prosperous pride. Him and his wife Nafaika had many healthy children, and a heir to the throne. A numerous party of powerful huntresses, and a kingdom that covered many miles, where game was plentiful.

The pride was a serene and relatively secure place to live. Everyone's needs were satisfied. All the members of this pride loved their king, and Uhamisho gave them his protection in return.

The king, in his prime, encountered a rogue lioness during his patrol one day. She was alluring, to say the least, and seemed physically impaired...but also particularly sad.

This female's name was Nyenyekea, and she was allowed into pride, for there was always room for another lioness, and food was never really scarce. She quickly befriended most of her new pride sisters, but queen Nafaika was becoming distinctly suspicious of her.

Nyenyekea was very grateful to king Uhamisho, and made herself as useful as possible in the hunt. When she wasn't hunting, she cubsitted, despite still being a young adult. Of course, the king was pleased that he had made the right choice in letting her stay, but the sadness he had first seen in her had not vanished.

Now, the king, albeit being liked by all, didn't interact a lot with his lionesses, other than his queen; however, this new female intrigued him. Nyenyekea was kind and helpful, and always had a smile to give everyone. When she was alone though, the king watched her as she cried and asked the Gods to send her comfort.

Uhamisho was moved, and kept her company as often as he could; trying to win her trust. He soon found out she cried over a dead mate and child, lost to the plague that had devastated her home. The king showed her his compassion yet again, and kept her to his side, ofttimes giving her his full attention.

The pride sisters were starting to gossip about the closeness of this new lioness and their king, and naturally, queen Nafaika wasn't happy at all. She never confronted her husband, but grew distant of him, angry and dissappointed at the same time. The pride sisters, in turn, began to evade Nyenyekea, but only succeded in making her cling, more helpless than ever, to the king.

Uhamisho didn't turn her away. He was drawn to her vulnerable nature, and before long, his sincere friendship turned into love. He sheltered her from the other lionesses' snide remarks and displays of agression, for he was a strong, mighty lion, and they didn't dare rebel against him. While all this happened, his wife didn't do so much as talk to him...

It wasn't long before Nyenyekea was expecting the king's child, and it didn't go unnoticed. The lionesses, except Nafaika, summoned Uhamisho and let him know that they felt betrayed, and if those cubs were to be born in this pride, they would desert him at once. But the lion's love for Nyenyekea was powerful, and he chose her over his old family.

Having lost his kingdom, subjects, wife and children, he set out to look for other lands with his lover. Uhamisho worked hard for both of them, now that Nyenyekea was too great with child to aid him in the hunt. Tense weeks went by, and the first signs of the birth of their cubs weren't the best.

Nyenyekea began to bleed. Her body was burning to the touch. Uhamisho stood by her for hours, praying to every God for her safety...

At midnight, a wet little newborn cub mewled weakly on the dry grass; her dead mother's body lying close by. Both, under the joyless gaze of Uhimasho.

As the kit struggled to the inert lioness to nurse, thoughts began racing through the former king's head. He had thrown away a life that any other lion would have desired. He had been happy and powerful...now his love was dead, giving birth to the tiny creature; and something inside him snapped. His eyes bore into her form like twin stalagmites; nothing but rage in them. He felt the urge to kill the cub, but fighting to control himself, he simply ripped her from her mother's body and carried her to the open Savannah.

He dropped the kit there, ignoring her pitiful mewling.

"May the Gods have mercy on you, Taifa."

He turned away; regretting the day he left his pride, and praying he would be given another chance.

*Ahem*

Now, what about the rest of Taifa's story? Look into the character section below...

[OTHER CHARACTERS]

The story of Taifa is only complete with the mention of the characters who made her what she is today.

.Hrist:
[Story]

It was some creature's heart-rending cries what roused her from eternal sleep. The last she could remember...was dying; dying together with her mate, pups and rest of her kind. How much time had passed? Why was she awake now? In the shape of a gust of wind, she sailed over African landscape, looking for the source of the sound.

Her incorporeal, chilly body finally enveloped a small lion cub that cried louder at the cold that had swept her. Curious, she took form to inspect the tiny animal. Fairly translucent; a cerulean wolf with a horn drew closer to the wailing kitten.

Tearful azure eyes stared up at her, and the spirit wolf felt sincerely sorry for the unfortunate cub. Giving a faint glow, Hrist purposely made herself material, just as she had been before death, and drew the small female close to her belly with a paw, where she let her nurse.

It brought her warm memories. She couldn't remember her own pup's faces, but her instinct was still strong. She adopted the kitten and raised her as her own.

She never named her though. Hrist, as a spirit, comunicated with her through thoughts.

One day, when the lavender cub was three moons old, she told her wolf mother that she somehow remembered that her name was Taifa, for a male voice in her dreams had called her that name.

-To be Continued-

.Atalanta:

.Caliko: Caliko had a typical youth. The son of a pride huntress and a rogue, he left his home once he was of age, and set out to start a pride of his own...or so he thought.

He once came across two lionesses who were fighting so fiercely, that he was sure one of them would die soon. He drove away the one he deemed more violent, and nursed the other back to health. He became interested in this lioness, Taifa, and her guardian spirit Hrist, and vowed to protect both to the best of his ability.

The lion soon became the proud father of Taifa's cubs, Khonsu and Rhidau, but all too soon, after a new assault by Atalanta, Taifa lost memory of her mate and sons, and was lost to them both physically and mentally.

Not knowing this, Caliko raised his cubs to maturity, and shortly after, set out in search for his mate...

[PICTURES]

.Cubby Taifa. She's missing the dark green triangles on her cheeks. Those are painted. She does them on herself when older. The earrings are given to her when she's a teenager.

.Taifa being dramatic on the desert sand. Probably on her trip to the Oasis? :0

.Weird-looking profile picture of Taifa. Her color are a bit off, methinks. It's an old picture, though.

.Caliko: Taifa's mate, whom she forgot after having her memory beaten out of her. ;0

.Oh my...this one doesn't look too friendly. She's psychotic. Lives for killing. D:

.Taifa and...? Is that a wolf? x[

.FURRY OH NOS DDDD: (Anthro Taifa.) Erm...ignore the partial nudity.

.The stalk. This one has a bit of an explanation about it. You see, Taifa's species don't blend very well with the environment SO. More about their flakes.

The flakes have CO2 (Carbon dioxide) receptors on them, among other kinds of receptors. So to make their hunts easier, they follow these CO2 trails to their prey. Animals who are sick, tired, wounded, or with any kind of metabolic stress upon them, will produce more CO2. And so, the huntress finds an easy prey.

.Taifa lets out her frustration. xD

.Taifa says 'Hi' to the cupcake with a face. :]

.Taifa and the Macaw (Which represents the country I'm from. ;D ). The more I draw Taifa, the less I draw her green cheek triangles, and I guess I like her more this way, so this way she stays.

.It's one aaaangry lion.
