OK people, I think I figured it out. The Dean's son (the emo one emo ) Killed his father. His motive...not having to go to military school, and probably something else. He probably went to the Neptune Grand, got the car by showing his ID or something (obviously has the same last name as his mom), and drove to the school in the Volvo. Then, he went into his dad's office, and his dad was surprised to see him. He shot his dad, returned the car, and went home. But how did he get a hold of Veronica's Plan the Perfect Murder Paper? Well, if you all remember, Professor Landry posted the three A papers on the web. All the son had to do was go on Landry's website or whatever and follow Veronica's instruction.
Now, keep in mind that this is only my theory, that is why it is only a potential spoiler. PM me if you agree biggrin

Oh my god, I can't tell you how happy I am that someone agrees that he should be a suspect. I'm not sure if he is definitely the one, but he is on my suspect list along with anyone who even has the slightest connection to the Dean.

Tim was not one of my suspects. He seemed to spine less...guess that made him the perfect killer. lol If only bugs didn't have serial numbers!

I did also consider Tim as a suspect, but I thought with him being suspected in the previous mystery and the actor playing him being the same one playing Lucky in the last season, and just the position the character was in, it just seemed too predictable. I like it when it comes out of nowhere. Not to mention the episode was a bit of a letdown. Usually the ending episode in a particualr mystery ends in some heart-pounding, freakout moment, where she's in danger and they have the dramatic music and all. This one, she figured it out in the middle of class and then they arrested him. I mean I know it's Tim and all, but you think he'd at least try to run or fight back somehow.

Ya, the episode wasn't a letdown. There was no hearting pumping Veronica Mars in danger action. I guess we got that all in the rape.
