The tree's shade made Nalani nearly invisible as she stood silently looking over the open meadow for signs of anyone she knew. It was pretty cold out, she wished she was back in her warm teepee. A breeze came over her and she shivered. "This shade is making me colder." Stepping out from under the shadow of the tree, she walked towards the flower bed near the river.

Glow Heart walked along shyly, eyes traveling about, ears twirling at the sounds that surrounded her. She smiled lightly as she walked along the bank of a river, not knowing where she was or were it led, only knowing that the area around it was beautiful and comforting, giveing her a sense of peace. She paused, however at spotting a fellow mare nearby, just ahead, heading towards a flower bed. She waited a moment...thinking...well she did need to make friends and...oh my, she had butterfly wings! Vis had mentioned ones with butterfly wings...and she really wanted to meet one. She continued on, tho she waited for the other to say somthing before she said anything...

Something in the distance caught her eye, but as she turned to look closely she tripped over a hole in the ground. "Ack!" She landed on one knee while the other leg was stretched out. "Oww, oww, owww." Slowly she got back to her feet and her face reddened when she realized that what she had seen was another mare. How embarrassing, she must think I'm a total cluts. Nalani couldn't pretend not to see her because she had already looked straight at the strange mare.

Glow's eyes widdened and without thinking she hurried over to see if the other mare was ok. "Oh my, are you alright?" she asked, worried. That position had looked painful and she hated to think somone had gotten hurt seriously. Glow was one who had to help anyone with so much as a scratch.

Well this is a bit unexpected... The mare had worried about her without even knowing her. "I'm fine, just a little scratch on the knee and a bit of pain on the other leg. Other than that everything is fine. Thanks for asking." She gave her a friendly smile. This was the first time anyone had worried about her in this manner.

She smiled, relived. "Oh thats good. I was worried you had injured yourself..." she flushed a bit from realization how...outgoing she was being. She giggled a bit. "Its nice to meet you. My name is Glow Heart...i go buy Glow tho..." she smiled and nodded lightly.

"It's a real pleaure meeting you, Glow. My name is Nalani, but few call me Lani. I see you are new around these parts of the land. What brings you here?" She wondered if she had met any of the other soquili roaming around.

"well..." Glow started. "I was just going to look to see where this river lead...and possibly meet a friend or two..." she smiled lightly. "and yes, i am new..." she looked at the other mare for a moment. "You...well...youo have butterfly wings..." she looked embarressed soon. "I always wanted to meet somone with butterfly wings..."

Nalani fluttered her wings. "This silly wings?" She chuckled, "Believe me, you wouldn't want to have them. I can't enjoy what I love the most because of them. You see, water is a hazard to my wings. One touch and they're gone. I constantly have to hide from the rain and I can't have fun taking a swim at the beach." The mare sighed as she realizes what a burden those wings have come to be.

Glow nodded. "Oh...i see..." she had to laugh a little. "Its just like i thought...you see when i was told of butterfly wings i thought they had to be not as useful as beautiful...and you have a horn too...." she looked at ehrself. "see....i'm really ordinary so...well wings and horns are just so...amazing...."

"You're not ordinary. You are unique just like everyone else is in their own special way. I mean just look at your mane and tail. They're beautiful, I wish mine looked like yours. Not to mention that it shimmers in the light." She smiled at the mare, "Don't forget that cute tattoo you have. I'm the ordinary one here." Nalani giggled, "About my horn, yes it may look amazing and whatnot, but you have to be really careful not to poke someone's eye out. That would be really bad, wouldn't it?"

"Oh yes in deed," Glow agreed. "That would be horrible." she shook her head however. "But you are inncorrect, you are far from ordinary." Glow said simply.

She smiled lightly. "Even if they are trouble some your wings and your horn...they are beautiful." she smiled. "and that with your colors...really are amazing." she smiled.

She giggled and closed her eyes as she remembered something in the past, "When I was younger I wished I was the color of the sea. I always tried to get seaweed and shells in my mane. Such a silly foal I was." Nalani opened her eyes and smiled at Glow. "Tell me something about yourself. I would love to hear more about you."
