Right, Tomorrow me and a few friends are going to the fireworks display near where I live. I said I'd bake something for us to eat as we wait for the fireworks to begin, only, I'm not certain what! Any ideas? (Probably some sort of small confectionaries or something) Otherwise, I'll resort to cookies...

We made some yummy peanut butter sweeties last weekend for a football watching party. Everyone loved them, and they were really easy to make.
1 cup peanut butter 1/2 cup butter, softened (no substitutes) 3 cups powdered sugar 5 dozen mini pretzel twists 1-1/2 cups milk chocolate chips 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Beat peanut butter and butter together until smooth. Beat in powdered sugar until combined. Shape into 1 inch balls and press one on each pretzel. Place on wax paper lined baking sheet. Refrigerate until peanut butter mixture is firm, about 1 hour. If you stick them in the freezer, it takes even less time.
Melt together chocolate chips and oil. Dip peanut butter balls into chocolate. Return to baking sheet, pretzel side down. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Store in refrigerator.
Yield: 5 dozen (according to the cookbook...didn't make that many for us...about 2-3 dozen)
(Recipe from 2001 Taste of Home Annual Recipes Cookbook)
Also, if you have leftover chocolate, you can dip your pretzels into it. Yummy!
