A yawn. A purr. A chirk. A crack. Swaying grasses and brittle leaves in the breeze. Morning noises made the male stir in his sleep. He laid behind an old gnarl acacia tree. Dark red fur clumped up into a ball to keep himself warm. His mate and he were on even terms at least... for now. The morning was coming, the noises were growing louder meaning more bodies were rising and that meant more presences around. With a grumble, he curled himself tighter. With a growl, he jerked himself up, fed up with everything, he rose to his haunches and looked around. Where was she?
"Tiah."
He murmured in a growl-like tone. The male didn't feel like seeking her out first thing in the morning. If he had it his way, he would have just slept in all day long. With a grumble, he pushed himself to his feet and looked around the tree. Where did she go? She was around the night before, but were was she now? So much for even terms.
Reclining back to his haunches, he let out a loud yawn mixed in a rumbling roar that echoed out for a good four miles just like any roar that an adult male could produce. Adonai's eyes narrowed and his maw split into a sneer. This was getting annoying....

“I’m not going to try anymore.”
Tiah was trying to convince herself that whatever it was that bothered her… other half so was no longer an important issue. If he didn’t wish to be open about his past with her then she wouldn’t try to figure it out. He was so moody every time she asked him, and every time she wanted to get close to him he pushed her away.
She didn’t want her life to continue this way. If worse came to worse she could always leave him and find another. Lovers were replaceable after all and he was certainly one she could replace without second thought. As much as she cared this mental abuse was slowly killing her.
She wasn’t going to take it any longer. She had left in the middle of the night just to go off on her own and think. She was tired of feeling the way she did; she was going to take action. Her claws extended sharply as she slowly let a soft yawn pass her muzzle before moving upward to sit. She gazed at her morning sun contently for a while, lost within thought.

Step by step, head was heading down to the water hole. Morning routines come first before daily task, wash up, use the rocks, and then either hunt or go back to sleep. Then again, Tiah usually was around to bother him leaving him little choice but to tolerate her. Why did she keep bothering him about his past? Why did she care? Why did she feel that she needed to know something like that? Females... so damned complex.
Adaonai moved along when something caught his eye. A twitch and then a glance. It stood out.... a lot. The color was familiar and well.... he saw it everyday, what made today any different. Nothing. Contemplating, he looked around. Go to her or keep on toward the water hole? A moment's thought, and he veered off course and toward her.
"Tiah, what are you doing way out here?"
She was his mate, he had to show some care somewhere in his actions. He chose her for a reason, one that had escaped him long ago but now he just knows that she has to be around. Why did she choose him anyways. With a scoff, the dark red male sat down nearby and his attention ventured off where.

“Relaxing.”
The lioness chimed and gazed back at him as he approached. She didn’t move to nuzzle, nor did she really give him a kind look. Her look was dull and null, as if all of the love she once felt for him had finally dried out. Nothing was left in that gaze, not an ounce of love.
“I am going to find more of my family today. After getting to know my brother I feel I must at least try to speak to everyone else that was apart of my father’s life.”
Even if he didn’t care to hear things like this Tiah said them, right now she didn’t care if he listened or not, so long as she said what she felt she felt better.
“What are you up to?”

Family? She was gonna seek out more of them? Great.... this is gonna be a bowl of fun. Adonai looked back to her and sighed.
"Me? Other than following you around, not much else to do if you left me alone. So guess I'll be following you if you want me to."
With a shrug, his head turned back out to the savannah. That was a tad bit different, he offered to go with her? A bit outside of his usualy behavior but they were mates, meeting family was gonna happen sooner or later so might as well get it done with now before things get complicated. After all, he was always right.
"Why now anyway? Why do you want to seek these lions out for? You got the best one right here."
Gloat.

“Hah... and here you are questioning why I leave you alone so much.”
Tiah spat with a bitter tone. He wasn’t going to do this to her any longer. She had put up with it for too long. He didn’t love her and if he did he never showed it. She was going to leave him. She was.
“I am not yours. You lost me along time ago.”
Tiah had been pushed to her limit and was not going to allow him to step all over her.
“If you want me then you’ll step off of your high rock and speak to me with respect, if not then I am going to take my leave, and I will not return.”

Adonai gave a slight growl as his ear flicked. What was that? Suddenly she turned on him?
"What the hell do you want from me, woman? Want me to be some loyal slave to abid every command?"
He growled as he narrowed his eyes on her. They became mates for a reason, though he had already forgotten it, she wanted to throw that away? Then why the hell did she.... What a damn pain this is.
"If you want to throw this relationship away, go on right ahead. Then let me ask you this, why the hell did we start this in the first place? Why did you choose me and why did you even stick around if you were so miserable, huh?"
The red lion roared as a snarl crawled around his maw as he rose to his feet. The same questions he had asked himself once before were now out in the air. Agitation. He growled and planted himself down and jerked his head away from her, grumbling to himself. Females.... pain in the tail.

“When I picked you to cared.”
She spoke out dully now, feeling rather hurt by his words. Did he really not care if she left? At one point they use to be so close. What happened to them… why did it have to happen to them? Her green eyes shifted as she gave him a mournful look before turning away.
“I don’t know what to do anymore.”
She couldn’t grasp it, this feeling that swelled within her and ate at her heart like a cancer.

With a sigh, Adonai turned his head away from her.
"Go away for the day and lets meet up again when the sun rises. I guess we just need some time apart to think things through. I am sure that is what you want, right?"
he spoke in the same dull tone she had just used. It would be rather nice to be alone for just a bit. As for the thinking thing, hah, the only thing he'd be thinking about it sleeping and maybe a good hunt. Perhaps.... Tiah needed this more than he did. .... if he had nothing else to do then he would think about their relationship and where it's going.
"What do you say?"

“If something awful happened to me, I wonder if you would even care.”
That was the last thing she would say to him before leaving him. She couldn’t even bring herself to say goodbye. It was such a pain to her, all of this. This anger and discontent drove her mad and made her feel sick inside. She only wanted him love and affection, and at one point she had that but things changed, maybe he was just not what she needed anymore.
Maybe his past was more important to him then her.
They scars the shared, they were scars that would never heal. The scars upon his face were from her and the scars on her left thigh were from him. They would always be apart of each other. No matter how far apart they were.
Slowly she started off, with out any glance back.
