As The name suggests, this is a NarutoXSasuke fic. with the plot of Fatal Frame though you need not know anything about the game. I'd love comments and tips if you could. Enjoy.

Old Feeling
“I wonder how long it’s been, since Sasuke and I, began to see things, other people can’t see. Sasuke, he was so kind. He was the only one I could open up to about these visions. After his clan died, I was his own family…as he was mine. After a while, Sasuke had started to pick up books to learn more about our gifts. Later on, Tsunade had blessed us with a jutsu to fight ghosts when the spirits had begun to notice our efforts to see and speak with them.
"We halted our efforts after a few spirits began to trouble us. We learned that spirits were best left alone and visions were something we would have to deal with..."
September 24
Sasuke’s dark eyes gazed up at the darken night sky. The forest began to howl from the wind and made the fifteen year old increase his pace to his destination. Following the path for more than an hour now, he finally let out a relieved sigh as his place of refuge came into vision. An old Japanese style mansion lay before him, looking much worn out from its non-use. Stepping on the wooden bridge that groaned under his weight, Sasuke ran a natural pale hand through his slick black hair and rested the other on a railing of the bridge. It had been made to cross a small gape that perhaps was once a stream.
The many vines, trees, and other leafage that clung to the mansion now, as well as the many holes he could see in the dim moonlight, were like this stream. Dried up, old, and ugly for the most part. “So this is Himuro Mansion.” Sasuke said to himself, trying to break the silence as he started to make his way up the rubble of steps. Most were cracked and had almost half of their surface gone, yet they were still semi-climbable.
"Sasuke was in search of someone. Junsei Takamine, a famous novelist and a man Sasuke was very indebted too, disappeared while researching a book. When he told me that he got a led on Mr. Takamine’s whereabouts, I felt uneasy, like he was going far away…."
The shinobi continued his way up to the old double doors. Pushing them open rather easily, the raven paused at the door and looked back over his shoulder, as if double checking to make sure no one would lock the doors behind him. Nodding to himself, satisfied with his observation that no one else was witnessing him entering; Sasuke made his way inside the mansion. The doors shut behind him fairly quickly, shutting out all light sources. Reaching into his bag that he had slung around his shoulder, Sasuke took out a small flash light as he coughed from the dust in the air. Allowing himself to scan his surroundings, he was amazed when he found that a roof beam had collapsed onto half of the staircase leading upward. Despite the outside, the inside was still in good shape. At least he didn’t have to worry about the place falling on him. ”The forbidden rituals of this area. It looks like Mr. Takamine was doing research on them. I wonder if his group is still here? “He asked himself, trying to break the eerie silence once again.
Walking up the steps which he tested each by placing only so much pressure on it before actually stepping up, he made his was over to the hole in the floor which was caused by another beam. ’What in the world happened here?’ Sasuke asked dully swiping some dirt off his black t-shirt before turning to his left. A door stood on the left side wall of the room and for some reason or another, Sasuke felt naturally drawn to it. Reaching for the handle, he could feel eyes staring into his back; an aura so threatening, it was almost daring him to continue. Ignoring the feeling in his stomach, the raven slid open the door silently and headed into the wide hallway that lay before him. The first strange thing that the raven noticed about it, was the many ropes that were hung up on the roof beams. They stretched low enough to reach his head even though he was only about 5’9. The wooden boards creaked and moaned from old age and Sasuke was sure to watch his step before he actually pressed down. Half way down the spooky old corridor, something caught the raven’s eye.
At the end of the hallway there was a mirror and two branches. ’Great, two seconds in this house and I’ll be lost for good.’ He thought to himself, remembering how olden day mansions twist and turned this way and that way. It would be easy to lose your way in such a place. However, as the younger teen blinked, he nearly stumbled back in sheer fright at the image before him. A head of him, Takamine walked slowly towards the right wing and even worse, he was see-through! ’Transparent?’ Sasuke’s mind screamed, trying to grasp the fact that slipped through his mental conscious. Forgetting the matter at hand, Sasuke raced down the hallway, no longer worried about being careful. The branch had been small and a door soon stood in front of his way, though not for long. Opening and shutting the door carefully, he scanned his surroundings again. The room was quite large with a stair case heading to the second floor on the very far left wall of him. Suits of armor and drawers were stacked on the wall in front of him and a small space in the middle of the room was made for a fireplace. Again, the raven felt the cold stare from before.
His eyes darting around him, he finally made his way up the stairs where he felt the presence. Perhaps Takamine really was here and was just in hiding? Again, he gingerly addressed the stairs one at a time before he made it to the top of the room. On the floor in plain sight, was a note book with the name ‘Takamine’ written on the cover. “This note book…so he was here…” Sasuke said, muttering his thoughts in incomplete sentences as he began to wonder about the mansion.
Did something really happen to Takamine? At the current point, it seemed quite possible. Sasuke’s eyes suddenly widened as he felt himself being pulled into a vision.
Takamine and two other people, a middle age man and young woman, began to walk down the rope strung hallway that Sasuke had ventured down. “I wonder if we’ll find anything?” Takamine asked his two assistances as they trudged on, gazing up at the beams.
“It’s cold.”, was the woman’s only reply as she shivered, keeping close to the novelist. The middle aged man shrugged to his question, muttering under his breath. “What a wreck…”
As the trio headed down the hall, sounds of screaming flooded Sasuke’s mind though the group seemed oblivious to it. Finally, as the other two turned into the room that the raven was currently nestled in, Takamine glanced down the hall; the screaming suddenly ceased, that is, until he hurried after his assistants. Sasuke felt his eyes widen as he stared into the glass mirror. In the reflection was a woman with a white kimono, hands outstretching from her back as she walked and the sense of tainted malice all over her being.
Sasuke dropped the notebook and stared at his hand a good long while.“That was mister Takamine…so he did come here.”
Sasuke didn’t have time to linger on his thoughts as the sounds of someone ascending the stairs suddenly caught his attention. Turning, hoping it was one of the group, he found no one. Backing up a step as he listened to the increasing noise of groaning from the wood get louder and louder; he sucked in his breath and forced himself to look hard at the position where the noise was coming from. The glint of a feature caused Sasuke to pull into a ready stance, already knowing what was about to come at him. ‘No, not these guys again…’ he prayed silently, knowing full well that it was ridiculous to do so.
The apparition whom Sasuke had been waiting on, turned out to be an old skeleton like figure. His shrunken eyes and rotten flesh suggested he was an older fellow. Ghostly string wrapped around his waist, tying his arms down to where he could barely move them.
His pupil less eyes gazed at Sasuke hard as moans imitated from his throat. Finally, he rushed in at the ninja. Sasuke smirked at the impudence. The roped up man made head to hand contact with Sasuke’s fist and screamed in fury as he backed off and disappeared. ‘Too easy.’ Sasuke thought, frowned, and hurried back down the stairs. He was done with this mansion. He had left his adventures with ghosts in the past and that’s where he preferred it.
‘Not again, I won’t let it happen again!’ He swore as he made his way towards the door to the rope hallway. He would have swung it open and bolted for the next door….had the door not already been opened. ‘I shut it when I came in so…’ Sasuke hurried out of the room as he heard a voice starting to cry in the back of his head.
'No, no, no, no, no!’ He chanted over and over again in his mind, trying to drown out the sound of a little girl sobbing in the back of his head. The sound of chimes made him stop short, and turn to look at the ghost girl in the white kimono he had saw in the vision, her eyes narrowing accusingly at him before she took a step towards him smiling. ‘Come back to me…’
Sasuke and I had kept a secret relationship. The villagers wouldn’t understand our love and passion. Kakashi and Sakura also helped us so that we could have time alone during missions. Sasuke had even picked up a good book, liking the writer. I hadn’t even touched the cover of the paper material when I saw it was about ghosts and haunted stories. Sasuke had always kept it away after he saw the look in my eyes because of it; it was too soon to be over the incident for me. After reading into his books more, Sasuke actually started to contact Mr. Takamine because he wanted to try and get OUR story published. It was after his disappearance did Sasuke decide to go to Himuro Mansion.
It’s been two weeks since I’ve last heard from Sasuke. But he left me a note, leading me to this place. I felt as though, something was calling me here. As I made my way up to the steps of the mansion, I could swear at times that my vision was black and white, as though I had been there before. With only my flash light in hand, I hurried along up the stairs, trembling with a new fear. A new fear that felt so familiar, it scared me.
The place had a musty, damp smell to it. As Naruto scurried up the steps, he suddenly heard a loud snap and was forced off balance. Rolling back down the stairs, the teen landed on his back on the dirt ground. “Owww.” Naruto whispered rubbing the tender part of his head that had hit a stair.
Standing again, Naruto’s eyes narrowed as he could somehow feel Sasuke. He had stood here before too. “Sasuke was here….he is here…” the blonde reassured himself before taking a step forward.
His body chilled when he heard a chime from a bell from behind him. Spinning on his heel, he came face to face with a tiny girl in a white kimono. Her long black hair draped over her white violet pattern shoulders and her eyes shadowed by the darkness. “Help me…” She whispered, pleading to him.
Naruto knelt beside her and nodded slowly as he placed a hand on her shoulder. It was cold and he felt the familiar prickling sensation that he had felt before. “Tell me how I can…” The blond pleaded, but the girl had already disappeared.
“What…is this place?” Naruto asked himself, glancing at his hand where he had touched the young apparition.
Deciding to search the manor more, Naruto walked over to the door to his left and checked it. Yep, it was still intact and it slid open pretty easily. As he began to walk through, something caught his widened blue eyes. For a brief moment, he could make out the image of a man watching him behind rice papered separator in the upper front of the room. Slowly backing up and walking over to the separator, he pulled it back after he found no ghost had leaped out at him. He nearly doubled over when he saw a blue flame-like ball in front of him however.
He sat on the ground, dazed for a moment before he carefully touched it. Almost immediately, the flame was gone and an image of the man appeared in his mind for a split second. ‘The ropes…There are more ropes now…’ The man hissed in his mind. ‘Ropes? What ropes?’ Naruto asked to the long gone figure. He sighed and shook his head as he stood up. “How am I suppose to help you people if you-”
Removing his foot from the floor, he realized that he had stepped on a piece of paper without knowing. Picking it up and examining it, the header titled “Ogata Notes 4”.
His victory of finding a clue was short lived when the blonde noticed what was written.

Now there’s another rope!………and another rope!
Naruto didn’t know if it was the ghosts that drove this man insane or if he was a cracked nut from the start. Still, the ‘rope’ thing started to make him wonder. Sasuke had told him a couple of stories from his collection of Takamine books. One, if he remembered correctly, stated something about a ‘rope shrine maiden’ but the text was only naming off the seven maidens of rituals.
‘Never mind that, just hurry and find Sasuke and get the hell outta here.’ He told himself desperately. He had to think clearly if he was going to find Sasuke, because panicking and running in a rush wasn’t going to help. Slipping through the door, he almost slapped his forehead when he saw the ropes hanging from the ceiling. Well at least he knew the man was SANE before he came here. What puzzled and intrigued the boy was at the end of the hall. A mirror stood on the opposite end that he did, his reflection staring back at him. Walking down the hall and strolling over to the dusty old antique, the blonde tapped it a couple of times. “Nothing weird about a mirror.” He said smirking.
His smirk faded when he looked up into the old wooden beams and gasped. The man from the flame vision before laid on a beam with his mouth gapping. “Ropes…always more ropes…”
Naruto screamed and flung back into the mirror, his head making contact with its surprisingly rock hard surface. Naruto felt his world spin as he tried to get a grip on himself. Warm liquid began to trickle from the back of his head and he knew he must have cut open his head. Holding his wound with one hand, he closed his eyes and allowed the darkness to consume him.
Sasuke ran down the rope hallway as hands flew out of the walls. Dozens and dozens of hands ripped out at him, trying to ensnare him in their icy grip while behind him, the woman was starting to catch up to him. Sasuke ran to the end of the hall, reaching for the door, but it was too late. Before he felt a hand cover his eyes, he called out a single word. “Naruto!”
Naruto flew up right at the shrilling sound of his name. He winced when he remembered his head had a little meeting with the glass. Reaching back, he found that the fox had healed the small cut and there was no blood to be found on his hair. At the moment though, he wasn’t terribly concerned with his own safety. “Did…something happen to Sasuke?..Hey!”
Beside him laid a little note book that hadn't been there before; Sasuke’s by the label on it. Swiping it up, he narrowed his eyes to find any blood or unusual markings on it. He flipped it opened and peered inside.
Himuro Mansion Investigation
Himuro Mansion was once the home of a large landowner that controlled vast areas of land. They also say that the site held some special significance that had to do with Shinto rituals of the region (I couldn’t find any detailed books about these Shinto rituals though.)
The last master of the Himuro family line massacred his entire household. Later, another family that tried to live there disappeared. Because of incidents like these, nobody visit’s the mansion today and it lies in ruins.
Maybe that’s why there aren’t any accounts of the Shinto rituals, and why the exact location of the place isn’t recorded anywhere.
September 24th
I’ve had a bad feeling ever since I came to this mansion. I’m leaving notes in this notebook just in case anything happens to me. I’ve got to find Mr. Takamine and the others fast….I hope I’m not to late.
“No, I just hope I’m not to late Sasuke.” Naruto whispered as he shut the notebook and hurried to the door on right pushing it opened.
