Iria was all dressed up with nowhere to go. Her father's party had long since ended and plopped on her bed in her pink dress and wonderfully dolled up hair. It had partly been for the party... but... partly for herself as well. She never had the opportunity to dress up. Her relationship with Kemis was so shortlived they were never given the chance to go on a date, and there was really no one else she could think to ask... She did love Kemis... but when the thought of a date came to mind... there was only one person she could think of.
The bottle sat on the table beside her bed and she eyed it in temptation... Biting her lip and putting it off, she tried so hard not to think about it. Icelus, despite being alone in there, would probably have something much better to do on Valentines... right? He's a GOD! And she was.... not even a full oneroi.
However, despite all of her put downs and discouraging thoughts, she found herself uncorking the bottle and taking a sip. It didn't take long for the liquid to work its magic and Iria slowly rested her head on her pillow....
She spun around, once again in the temple room where they had so often had tea. She had visited him manny nights before and each time was better than the last... she even felt guilty at how much she was enjoying it, knowing Kemis still cared for her... and she felt guilty being with Kemis because she always left her heart in this temple room...
"Icelus?" She called, her pink dress swirling as she turned to find him.

The lonely deity had been pacing the floors, bare feet soundless as snow on the gleaming polished boards -- but he found himself looking down at Iria with widened eyes, his hair streaming in disarray around his sleek bared shoulders, the usual silken cloth that swaddled him wrapped around his lean hips. His skin was flushed with warmth, and he looked at her with a bewildered, though pleased expression.
"Iria!" You are here! Pleasure filled his tone, both physical and mental, as he hurried to her, extending a hand. I had hoped you would visit me tonight, he confided.

She sighed. "Oh good. I was worried I would be in the way."
However, her heart skipped a beat as she saw him. Her cheeks went instantly to a bright pink and she kicked herself for finding the bare chested deity... well... let's face it.... sexy.

You could never be in the way. Icelus' tone was tender and soft, as he lifted his hands, gently brushing along her cheeks as he bent to press a kiss to her forehead, mouth warm and soft.
You are lovely tonight, little Iria, he said fervently. Not that you are not always, but... I almost fear to touch now. One finger, light as air, touched the soft curl of silver hair in front of the pointed ear. Icelus' smile was like moonlight, slow and sweet.

Iria never felt like this before. Her eyes were wide and staring straight into his, her hands shook for lack of anything to do and want to do things she shouldn't, her face was bright red, and her heart was pounding to the point that she was fearing a heartattack.
He said I was lovely...
She turned away, leaning forward slightly and with a hand to her chest to steady her heart and her shaky breathing.
"H-Happy Valentines Day..." She whimpered
He fears to touch me? Does that mean...
"It was father's birthday today as well, so I dressed up... and I decided to wear this to see you as well. I... Didn't know if you cerebrated this holiday but it seemed a shame for you to be alone on a night like this."

Happy Valentine's Day, little Iria. Icelus watched her with some puzzlement in his deep blue eyes. Had he done something wrong in expressing his affection? I have never before celebrated such a holiday... I suppose, however, that there is a first for everything.
Despite having never before experienced romance, he thought he was fairly good at it... his heart flopped over. I did miss you... I am glad you thought to come to me... and looking so very beautiful...

Icelus struck a cord in Iria's heart once more.
Beautiful... He thought I was...
"L-Let's have that tea, shall we?" She quickly changed the subject, fighting with all her might against falling for him but it was a hopeless battle. He was so sweet... and yet dignified... Not afraid to express how he feels and yet not rude in the manner... And he made her different... he made her a better person... a happier person.
Iria made her way over to the little table and took her seat. She didn't want to seem rude but it was all she could do to keep from making things too awkward with unneccessary emotions. He was probably like this with all the girls. He was a God. He couldn't play favorites with his 'children.' That would just be odd... Even if she wasn't really considered his 'child' as she had never met him before her dreaming. No previous life of serving under him... How could he love her? How could she love him.
She kept telling herself this in her mind. But why? Was she preparing for disappointment? His eyes.. his touch... his smile... his voice... They were all for her and her alone...
She begged him in her mind to touch her again... his skin was so soft and perfect...
But no! How could she even THINK that!?
Icelus... I'm so glad you can't hear my thoughts...

Yes, replied Icelus, distracted with his own inner thoughts; his face was softly flushed, and he gently slid his hand down her arm as he passed her, distractedly gazing over at the flickering panels that provided much of the room's light with their shining. Tea, of course.
He was not used to this -- not used to feeling uncertain. He disliked it, this fidgeting shivering feeling of inability to decide. It wasn't at all seemly -- but then...
There dwelled this warmth in his stomach that he couldn't seem to shake -- like swallowing hot tea, which swirled and warmed and radiated a soft heat out to every part of him.
What was that?
Carefully he set out the tea set, which as always was immaculately prepared, and tried not to look distracted...

Iria looked quite vulnetable now.
Did I seem rude? Did I insult him? He got so quiet suddenly...
She smiled weakly as the tea appeared. Surely that would calm her nerves. There was nothing more soothing than tea in Iria's eyes... but... the smell did nothing... A sip of the cup did nothing... Those butterflies just didn't seem to want to drown... She wasn't sure she would be able to finish this dream with him... but not finishing made her even more confused... and depressed.
"It's... terribly quiet here. Calming... and yet it must make things so... dead sounding." She took another sip while her eyes traveled around for any signs of life other than the animated panels on the wall. She began looking at some of them. People had so many dreams... Weird, funny, nonsense, frightening, romantic, errotic...
Iria looked away from the panels, slightly pink, and took another large gulp of her tea.

Icelus calmed himself, watching the ripples in his own teacup spread out from the center. He nearly jumped when she spoke, but offered a soft smile.
It is lonely here, I will admit, the god whispered softly, his thought-voice echoing in the stillness of the temple. But sometimes, when everything is almost maddeningly still... there is a music that comes out of the dreams...
His expression was almost beatific, pleasure shining in his soft blue eyes.
Perhaps someday you will hear it, little Iria... it is louder and more wonderful when you have been here.

Iria looked down at her cup again, blushing more.... but she closed her eyes silently and a look od concentration took over. Her pointed, half oneroi, ears twitched slightly as she tried to hear it. She didn't like knowing something is there and not being able to experience it herself. Her quest for knowledge was too great to not know about this.
She wondered what the music of dreams would sound like...
Icelus looked so.... Oh God, what is this feeling? I feel like crying but... I'm not sad...

... Would you like to hear it, little Iria? He asked slowly, unsurely, putting his cup back down onto the table with a soft clink of china. I can... let you hear it through my ears, if you will. The delicate white-furred things twitched softly.

It will require that we touch... Icelus extended both his hands. The more the contact, the better you will hear it, but you should be able to hear it fine simply by holding my hands...
Thoughts of holding her slender body against his own crossed Icelus' mind unbidden, and he flushed brightly.

Iria's eyes locked with his and she surrendered her hands to his, closing her dull grey eyes and trying with all her might to listen.
Her mouth was slightly open, lips kissed with smooth clear gloss from the party. Her cheeks were pink from his touch, even if it was just hands. Her fingers threaded between his and locked on gently.
Icelus....
