Tommy gave a sigh and rubbed his eyes with the back of his right hand. The bat-man was straining them this night in the entertainment room, having decided against a movie for a change. With a groan, he stretched out his arms, long fingers splayed out...he could almost graze the books on the shelf nearby with them. He propped his hand-like feet up onto the table before picking up one of the many books scattered before him. A few Stephen King books lay off to the side, forgotten from about an hour ago. He had picked up "The Satanic Verses" by Salman Rushdie, a story about the founding of Islam...also about two main characters, one who turns into an angel...the other a goat-like demon.
The Bible, Dante's Inferno, and the Divine Comedy lay off to the side, closer to him.

It was late and Stewart was feeling more restless than usual. He had finally learned to control most of his goaty instincts, but today they just kept popping up. In a last ditch attempt to control them he decided to see if the Island had any good movies. While he really doubted they had classics like the Ten Commandments, he would settle for something more modern. Walking into the room, he wasn't suprized to see someone else there. He tried to get a better look at the other man, but was first disctacted by the books he was reading. The Bible! Stewart was more than pleased to see someone else reading it, and quickly walked over to see who was reading it.

Tommy rubbed his eyes once more, mostly to get the sleep out of them. He had only woken up an hour before. His head perked up as his radar-like ears noted the sound of the door opening...and what sounded like hooves walking inside. Hooves...? Not Gaius...don't think he's changed that much yet...but who else around here has hooves? He thinks to himself as he tries to place the sound.
As Stewart made his approach, Tommy casually looked over to see...well...a very developed islander. He had to be finished...a goat though? ...Holy s**t, the padre? Tommy blinked a few times, allowing a small smile to spread over hie face. He silently wondered how he must look to the goat-man...probably like the chupacabra.
"Evenin'" he said casually.

No way, it was Tommy? He certently looked different from the last time they met, but then again so did he. Now Stewart could get a good look at the book he was actually reading...The Satanic Verses? He sure wasn't expecting that. Trying not to look to confused by his choice of reading materials Stewart said with a smile "Tommy! I wasn't expecting to see you here, how have you been doing?"

Tommy remembered that voice...sure it was a little different, but his ears could pick up damn near anything now. "Father Stewart! Heh, haven't seen you in a long time...but uh...I've been alright I suppose...ya'know, besides the obvious," he said with a wave of his long-fingered hand in a general manner.
"Heh, just some light reading," he says with a grin, hoping Stewart would recognize the book he was reading. Lessons on it were taught back in his Jesuit High School. "Usually just watch a bunch of movies in here...thought I'd give my mind a work-out though."

"I do always love a good book, when I first came in here I was wondering who was reading the Bible." That's when it hit him, the book Tommy was reading. It was the one that caused all the controversy and that one of the main characters was a... satyr. Of all the book he could of been reading, it had to be the one with a goat man in it. "I also remember reading the Satanic Verses, very interesting book if I do say so myself." He said trying not to get on the topic of the main characters.

"Yeah, I was going for some classics tonight...and you don't get more of a classic than the biggest best-seller in the history of man, eh? Just reading through some of the books I enjoy though...Ezekie, Revelations, most of the New testament...Job...you know," he said with a nod, closing the Satanic Verses with a small bookmark. He also didn't want to bring up that book more than was needed...he wasn't sure just how sensitive the Father was to the subject.
"What're you doing up this lat though?" he said with a grin, "Thought I was one of the few nocturnals around here."

"All excellent choices, Job is a personal favorite of mine." He said pausing for a second, God knows how he had turned to that Job since he had gotten here. The though that this was only a test of his fath was both a frightnting and conforting thought. "Usually I'm not up this late" He said with a embarassed smile "But tonight for some reason I just couldn't get to sleep. I wish I had a better reason for staying up late though."

Tommy shrugged, "A movie always works...heh, it's not like we've got anywhere to be tomorrow morning...well...except for bed for me. I swear, this nocturnal life-style really cuts down on your social life..." he said as he trailed off.
His hand inched toward his left cargo pocket, questing for the packet of blood that was residing there. However, he willed himself not to pull it out...it tended to make others uncomfortable. "So how 'bout it? You up for a movie?"

"Nocturnal, that means you're only up at night right? Sounds like a pain" Stewart said glad that he didn't have a nocturnal serum. "And a movie sounds great, that's actually what I came in here for...Do they have any good movies here? I've actually never really looked"

"Yeah, tell me about it. Hell, I'm sharing a duplex with Victor right now...he uses the bed at night, me during the day..."
"Hmm? Oh sure, they've got almost anything you could imagine," he says while waving a foot/hand toward the racks of DvD's. "What kind of movie mood are you in?"

"Victor?" He asking trying to remember all the people he'd met, the name didn't ring a bell "Is he new?" He asked walking over to the DVD racks then adding "I don't think I've ever met him before... As for movies, I'm up for just about anything. But nothing too violent, I not very fond of those kind of movies"

"Victor's a good guy, yeah...he's a bit new...think he's been through two changes or so. He got it in a bad way though..." Tommy said, shaking his head.
"Hmm...what's good..." he muttered to himself, going through his multiple levels of movie knowledge to find an appropriate one. "Well, an older one that's still great is "The Day the Earth Stood Still," but if you want something more contemporary...hmm...how 'bout...Donnie Darko?"

Bad way, Stewart really didn't like the sound of that "What do you mean by bad way? Like a bad animal..." He didn't even want to say it but "or did something go wrong with his changes?" Even the thought something like that happening scared him to no end. Changing the subject Stewart tried to decide on which movie he would rather see, he had heard a lot of things about Donnie Darko. Too bad he couldn't remember if they were good or bad. Curious as to what everyone was talking about he said "I've been wanting to see Donnie Darko for quite some time now...Ah! Here it is." He said grabbing the DVD case out and with some trouble he managed to get the case open. Then a new problem arouse...How exactly was he going to get the DVD out with hooves?

"His...his changes messed up...I think anyway. No way that could be deliberate...no way..." he said while shuddering slightly. That poor b*****d. He looks up with an exhallation of his breath toward Stewart. He personally loved the movie. But of course, he was a Behavioral Science major in college, so that made sense. He blinked a few times as Stewart seemed to be having trouble witht he DvD.
"Here, lemme do it. Heh, I've got a lot of practice with it," he said while crutching himself over on his arms toward Stewart.
