Barazahi lay in their camp for the day, stretched out in the shade. The sunlight damaged her fur, or so she thought, and today was too hot of a day anyway to be in the sun. Her grey bangs drooped over one of her eyes as she dozed in the cool shade of a nearby tree... everything was perfectly peaceful. She opened one red-brown eye after deciding that she had napped enough for today, and pulled herself to a slightly more upright position, looking around the "bustling" camp.

Angu too, watched the busy camp where everyone was, everyone, it seemed, exept for Barazahi, who wasn't with the others. It was Angusho's job to protect them all, and he had stopped his patrol of the area immediately once he noticed she was missing.
"Raza!" He called out, trotting quickly towards the camp. She wasn't there. "Raza!" He called again, starting to search. He was beginning to get worried, what if something happened to her? He had to find her at all costs. In his panic, ironically enough, he hadn't spotted her under a nearby tree, and had run past her on the other side of it in his haste to find her.

Barazahi's tail twitched quickly in the dirt before she responded to the big male. "I'm right here Angusho!" She got up and headed over to him. "Sorry for startling you, I was just over there," she said, nodding her head towards the tree. Sending him into a panic was the last thing she had intended to do. She appreciated the care he put into his job, and his constant dedication. She shook her head quickly to push her bangs to the other side of her head, so her fur was on the side not facing the male. She smiled at him, grateful for his care. She could understand why everyone would want to look after her in particular, after all.

Angusho spun around, startled by her sudden appearance. He quickly regained his composure though, not wanting to appear nervous or jumpy around anybody, least of all one of the royals.
"Ah, there you are miss Raza." He said with a smile, bowing his head slightly, a sign of respect. He didn't admire her for her strength, a quality he usually looked for in others, but for her beauty. Normally he only thought of beauty as a distraction, for it was, but even he was distracted by hers.
"No problem at all, miss." He said with a smile, "But you shouldn't be off on your own, no dissrespect." He shook his head, "We're about to leave, what if you hadn't been near enough once we were ready? Or you had gotten lost?"

"I wouldn't be worried. I'm certain you'd come looking for me," Barazahi said, letting a sweet smile cross her face. "You're always on top of things, Angusho," She said, looking him in the eye. Raza could always feel safe if he was around the camp. She had wished he had been there when she had met up with Sukari that one day, but... She had taken a lesson from the experience.
She never noticed it before, but Angusho had nice eyes. Their hue a wonderful blend of colors, when mixed that formed the pink that matched his mane. She quickly pushed the thoughts aside, realizing that much more thinking about this would make her look zoned out. She smiled at him and said, "lead the way," implying that they head back.

"I'm honored that you put so much trust in me." He smiled back, looking into her eyes as well. For the first time he noticed how different they were from the rest of her, like pure rubies in a pool of deep water. Yet they seemed slightly shy, as if she wasn't telling him everything. It wasn't his place to ask, however.
"As you wish, miss Raza." He said, turning and slowly beginning to walk back to the camp. He wanted to return her safely, but the camp was so close that it could be seen even if you weren't looking for it. He seemed reluctant to get there too fast, almost eager to spend more time with Raza.

Raza had a feeling of not wanting to walk too fast either, though she didn't know that that was how Angusho felt as well. "How close are they to leaving?" Raza asked, stopping her walk. "Perhaps, if they're not too close to being ready to go, we could sit and talk for a while?" She offered, a glimmer in her eye. She hadn't really talked to anyone in quite a while... and for some reason, she felt like talking to Angu. She hadn't done that in a while either.

"Oh, not terribly close. I just figured I should make sure I found everyone before they left." Angu said, happily sitting down next to Raza. They were close enough that they could see if they began to leave. There was no harm in sitting and talking with her, right?
"That sound's nice." He didn't know what to say, though. He had always been very open with Kimya and Ata, but around Raza, he was rather lost for words. Probably best to start with something simple, the weather? No, too corny...
"So, have you ever thought of finding yourself a mate?"
No no! Now he sounded forward! Angusho made a note to kick himself the next time he was alone, but there was no way to take back what he had said.

She perked her ears up at his question. Now that was unexpected, she thought to herself, contemplating how to respond. "Well..." she said, procrastinating her answer so she'd have more time to think of how to answer his question. "There's not really anyone around me who's not family. The only male from our pride who I'm not related to is... you," she finished quietly, turning to him while raising an eyebrow. "I always thought you were too old for me," she explained, looking away again. "But perhaps I was just too young to look around me," she said, not afraid of being forward.
Am I... flirting with Angu? she asked herself. She'd been around him for a long time! However, she'd never really... noticed him before. He'd always been there, and they'd always been friendly to each other, but she never looked at him in any other way than as a part of the scenery. Now that she changed her view, however, the picture wasn't bad at all. In fact, she wondered why she hadn't ever looked at Angu before like this! (It was quite pleasing in her mind.)
She wondered which way this would go if she continued down this path, and truly wanted to find out. "How about yourself? Have you ever thought of finding a mate?" she asked, looking back at him a bit playfully.

Angusho looked incredibly embarrassed as she continued to talk, it evaporated quickly though, because she didn't seem to mind so much. Maybe his question wasn't so bad after all.
"Yes... Perhaps I am to old." He said sadly. He was fit and strong, and not really that old, but he was much older than her. "I was there when you were born, you know." He added, not sure if that was the best choice, but he didn't really care anymore. The last time he said something that could have been bad, it turned out fine. Maybe this time it would too.
"I... I always kept my duty first, and that is protecting your parents, siblings, and yourself." He said with a shrug, "A mate could be distracting, though I think we're almost home. I had been thinking of finding a mate, and you are... No, it's not my place." He sighed, this whole discussion, it wasn't proper. A Shujaa should never inquire so far into the life of a princess, especially not when he found her so desirable. He felt the need to stop and run away, to forget this ever happened, but at the same time, he wanted to stay and learn more about the beautiful lioness before him.

"You may speak of whatever you wish with me," she said, "But if you don't want to continue on this topic, that's fine with me." She didn't want to push him, and he was clearly uncomfortable. She discarded everything he had said to her previously, about being far older than her, though he was. She had few other choices... And she really didn't prefer any. Angu had always protected her with his life, and she didn't really want anyone else.
She'd asked her mother about rogues, but not Angu, and she needed to change the topic so he wouldn't be in discomfort much longer. "What do you think about rogues?" She asked randomly, tilting her head.

Angusho was almost shocked at how open she was with him. "No, I don't mind, I just didn't want to offend you." He said, a rare look of shyness on his face.
"Rogues? They are... Unfortunate to be the way they are." He sighed, "They are alone in the world, nobody to turn to, and what's worse, they are unclean, even if they don't know it." he shook his head, "They have a chance to redeem themselves of course, if they chose to join our pride, but they are so ignorant that they usually chose not to. It is truly sad, I am sorry for them all."

This was the first time she had heard that they could join their pride if they so desired. Her ears perked at this while she thought if the few rogues she had accidentally met would have anyway, and it was like Angu had said, they wouldn't.
"I met a rogue once..." Raza said. She had also met a few others, but she wouldn't tell him that too. "The other day at the water hole, you know where I mean. A couple of days ago we camped by a water hole. I went there to get a drink early in the morning and told nobody that I was going. There was a black and brown lioness, she was very... menacing," she said, turning to see Angu's reaction. "I was for the first time shaken in my abilities to wander off alone. She practically threatened my life. I really wished I had brought you," she said. "I haven't left camp without someone since. I was in sight of camp today, it was the farthest I've gone since then," She told him, a look of regret on her face. She didn't want him to be mad at her for it... She had learned her lesson.

Angu was shocked when he heard her story, how could she have wandered off without him noticing? He usually patrolled around the camp all night, and slept very sparingly if he thought there was danger, but no, she had gotten around him...
"I suppose there's no point in being angry with you for it, it seems that you now know why you should not do such things." He sighed, "I don't how I would have lived if something had happened to you."

Barazahi wasn't sure how to react. She certainly didn't like anger, but she didn't like disappointment either. "I'm sorry," She said, her beautiful face turned into one of sincerity. She wasn't used to disappointing others, except for in her hunting. (Beauty didn't play a role in hunting, it usually did in everything else.)
She smiled at his last comment, and couldn't help but wonder if she'd have said the same thing to her brother, or anyone else in her family, or if she was the only one to merit such affection from him.
