For colche ehr first day of true learning had been fun and after a good amount of food (mostly comprissed of chocolate cake) and a long nap on the sands of the beach she had decided to take a wander in to the villiage only to over hear a conversation about valentines day which was apparantly 'today', which meant now pretty much. She smiled brightly, she knew what valentines day was, she remembered talking about it with Aubrey all that time ago, it was another of those holiday things wheer you gave gifts. She faintly remembered this one was about likeing boys and giving pretty gifts like flowers and chocolate. There was only one person on the island she wanted to give this gift of 'great like' to and that was jordie, so despite her crutches she hobblesd off in to the jungle to find a gift.

Of course with her knowlege of the island and it's landscape, it didn't take her long to find flowers which she meticulously searched through picking only the prettiest of them, though there were far too many for her to carry, especially with her crutches so making her way back through the jungle meant the poor delecate blooms ended up rather battered. Still, she didn't really notice. The thought of her gift to jordan was all that mattered to her.

Hobbling to his door she tapped lightly with her claws upon his duplex. She wondered if he knew she had been sleeping on the beach not all that far away from where he lived. Shrugging her shoulders, she let out a deep breath and waited, a slight puurr already rolling from her chest as she waited for him to open the door.

Jordan hadn’t been home, so Colche was left waiting at his doorstep for close to ten minutes before he’d even come over the sands, wearing his swim trunks and strutting his stuff. He’d been out for a run, followed by a swim and he was feeling pretty good after his brisk workout. His tail was wagging happily and he was basking in the feel of the sun on his body, rubbing his excercised biceps, triceps and shoulders vigorously. He was definitely in the zone today and had been feeling his wheaties on such a beautiful day.

He hadn’t been on the same part of the beach as the cheetah and he’d be surprised to see his visitor waiting for his approaching arrival. He was in the zone and feeling good. The dogman was walking with his arms folded behind his head, chest puffed out, as he enjoyed the walk home. Jordan was humming contently to himself, only half-paying attention to his surroundings as he was coming into view of his duplex.

By the time Jordan had come walking up the beach the little cheetah girl had made herself comfortable on his door step, the scent of the sea and the sft mid afternoon sunlight playing on her tan and black fur. Her jet black hair fell in cascades around her face and chest and she was softly purring at nothing at all. Her flowers were far from forgotten, ut they had been up in to the shade where they were just about resisting the urge to wilt.

Her nose twitched as she scented the dog mans approach and her deep blue eyes opened to glimpse him. She acctually caught her breath at the sight of him,. all furry and shiney, and looking well as a hero should, just out of some great terrorising battle with a great sea monster or something.

If colche knew what swoon meant she probably would have realised that the reason she felt all frightened and shy suddenly was because Jordie looked really, well, nice to her. Licking her furry lips, she clambered to her foot paws and leant against the frame of his door rather than scrabbling for her crutches, though she quickly realised her mistake, she had left the flowers at ground level. This wasn't going at all well, he wouldn't be very surprised at all now.

He was only a few feet away when he noticed her. He’d really been in his own little world, lifting up his new black sunshades, offering a smile to the cheetah girl. “Hello, Colche! Have you been waiting long? I was out having a swim and a run.”

Jordan wondered why she wasn’t using her crutches and thought she’d hurt herself if she fell. He rushed over to her and offered a shoulder for her to lean on as he slipped an arm under hers, leaning down to pick up the nearest crutch. “Take it easy or you’ll hurt yourself. You need to heal completely before you can run around like you used to.” He’d seen the flowers and after handing Colche the crutch he’d picked up, lifted them from his doorstep. Had she brought them?

Colche looked embarressed when the doggish man cam up to her and held her up. She hadn't meant to upset him by not using her crutches. The things just annoyed her more and more with each passing day, she wanted to run again, she wanted to be free of the stupid cast. She took the crutch from him and balanced it under one arm as he picked up the flowers, she looked at the ground in a bashful manner. "Valentines.." She contemplated what more to say feeling sheepish almost which was a strange thing for the little cheetah girl. She didn't really do embarressed.

Peering from beneath her long black her she attempted a smile, her small rounded ears tucked tightly against her head. "Uhms, Happy Valentines.." she whispered, her voice much quieter than usual, a shy little whisper that really wasn't how she usually was being a bubbly rather hyper character normally.

He wasn’t upset with her, but he didn’t want to see her injure herself further. He was like a doctor in respects that he would become a hardass if a patient willfully disobeyed explicit instructions, but he tried to understand that she was a cheetah at heart now, more than anything else, and she needed to run. “Promise me you won’t walk without your crutches. You could fall and break the leg all over, possibly even worse, than before.” He gave her a stern look of concern and letting her know he wasn’t playing around about her health.

He softened though, after realizing that she’d brought the flowers for Valentine’s. That took him off guard, leaving him speechless for a moment as he glanced up to her gentle smile. He’d saved her, he’d become a hero in her eyes, and now flowers. “They’re lovely flowers, Colche.” He hugged her gently, so as not to throw her off balance. “You’re sweet to bring me such a pretty bouquet.”

He peered at her curiously. Colche was being rather quiet and shy in her mannerisms. She worshipped the ground he walked on and all he’d done was his duty to help another out in their time of need. Being a hero –after all- was a tall order and it was strangely rewarding to be appreciated so highly, even if he thought he was undeserving of such accolades. He’d lose that battle if he tried to say otherwise again.

Looking embarressed still tthat she had to be ordered to behave while she had her cast on she gave a little subtle nod, trying not to feel upset that he wasn't happy with her. She tried so hard not to be bad, bbut things always seemed to happen of late.

Twitching her long furry tail, her smile spread a little wider as he hugged her and she nuzzled his shoulder with her stubby muzzle a puurr resonating from her chest. Still after this touch of emotion and closeness she pulled away and looked at her feet again. She had felt this way once before, though perhaps not as strongly as she did now. the butterflies running around in her stomach and the feeling that she was being completely foolish though she couldn't even put that in to words.

"Flowers purty, like jordan" she mumbled, unable to look at him as she said it finding her foot paws and cast far more easy to look at than facing those brown eyes.

He chuckled as she said he was pretty. Jordan had been feeling better about his appearance now that he was swimming, running, and working out again. He patted her shoulder, finding the coy behavior amusing. The dogman sat down on the doorstep, resting the flowers in his lap carefully.

The gentle breeze whipped through his hair, across his face and he enjoyed the feel, closing his eyes as his tail wagged. “Days like this are absolutely beautiful. It makes me want to stay out till the sun’s set enjoying the outdoors. He patted the spot next to him on the stoop, inviting her to sit. “Don’t worry, Colche. You’ll be healthy enough to run again in no time. The trick is to take your mind off your leg for a bit.”he rubbed his upper arms with his paws, flexing them as he wanted to work his body till the burn kicked in, but it’d been so long since he’d seriously stuck to such a tight exercise regiment, he wasn’t sure if his body was ready for that sudden impact. "I would hope you haven't been sitting around doing nothing."

He closed his eyes again, still rubbing the worked muscles, the salty tang catching in his nose. He fantasized about his old body and how he wanted to be at that pinnacle of athleticism once more.

Taking a deep breath she slipped back down the door to sit on the stoop next to himher tail twitching a little nervously as she looked up at him, those big baby blue eyes smiled up at him, adroeing, loving perhaps? She was trying hard not to act so shyly around him now, she had done this before and had simply gotten hurt. Certainly the scent of other females of the island hung around his duplex, she could smell them her sensitive nose picking up the breath of other people whom had been here recently. he couldn't get her hopes up.

Shaking her hair from her face she looked out at the sea with a smile and a sigh. "is beautiful" she whispers a long sigh escaping her lips. A slight grin grossed her maw when he asked about her activities. "no still" she meant never still, but the sentiment was the same she loved to run and although the cast and the stupid crutches hindered her play time, she still was'nt one to idle about doing nothing all the day long.

Looking up at the pale furred man, she leaned against him for a moment her dark hair falling over her cheeks and chest with the soft salty breeze. "nice here, I likes lots" She shivered, though not from the cool breeze which rolled accross the sands, the fur on the back of her neck stood on end, she always insisted upon likeing people whom were taken or not interested, she could learn a lesson yet she still idolised jordan which in a round about sort of way led to an adoration beyond ehr hero worship.

Of course if she could put this in to words, she probably would have been much more comfortable right now. This shy, embarressed feeling which rolled down ehr spine and made her fur stand on end just wasn't like ehr at all.

Jordan peered through the corner of a slightly-opened eye, smiling as she’d leaned on. In turn, he put his arm around her shoulder and snugged her gently. She was sad and it wouldn’t get better until that cast could come off. He wished there was something he could do to magically heal her leg but there was only so much science could d--- he paused mid-thought with a curious quirk on his face, shaking it out. Science could do a lot, including transforming humans into animal hybrids, but it simply couldn’t speed up the healing time of the cheetah girl’s leg.

Jordan was suddenly struck with an idea to make her feel better. “I’ll be write back, Colche.” He smiled kindly “You’ll like this.” He’d slipped into his duplex, letting the air that smelled strongly of him waft outside and across the girl on his stoop. Jordan opened his desk ands retrieved one of his specialty writing pens, returning to Colche’s side with the same smile.

Handling these things had become difficult for him, but he’d manage as he practically chewed the cap off in his mouth and leaned forward to write on her cast. It was supposed to say: “Get well soon” with his name signed under it in print, but it’d looked more like “Grert wool soom. Jorgen.” He hated how his paws made it impossible to write, but smiled for her benefit. “Uhm… it’s supposed to say ‘Get well soon’… and that’s supposed ot be my name.” he huffed indignantly.

Colche tilted her head lightly at the print upon her cast. She grinned, she felt quite honoured, she didn't know you could do that to the cast. Giggling some, she looked up at the dog eared man and wrinkled her ose. "Thankyou" she puurrs happily, playing with a strand of her hair rather coyly.

"I likes." She purrs, tracing her furry fingers over the markings, they were so pretty to her. Being unable to write herself, at least anything more than what richard had taught ehr so far and beyond her own name. watching somone write was something amazing and beautiful to her and it was probably doubtful that Jordan would understand that.

Still, she turned to the man and wrapped ehr arms around him puuring happily. "Thankyous" She whispers again her furry cheek pressed in to his chest. She wished silently that she had more words to say in gratitude, but the man just kept coming through for her. He was her hero.

Jordan wouldn't or couldn't understand. He'd taken so many things granted in his life time and writing had been one of those. He'd been ashamed and frustrated with his poor inability to properly hold and manipulate a writing utensil, especially since this had been from his special pen set given to him by his mother at his time of graduation from high school. He'd even broken one of them -unfortunately- after his first change in frustration.

"You're welcome, Colche." he laid back against the door as he held her against him, arm wrapped around her shoulder, snugging her gently. "It's more of a tradition than anything to get your friends to sign your cast."

"Tradition?" she didn't entirely understand the word, and havuing never had a cast before she wasn't sure about the whys. Still, the feeling of being honoured was still there. Huggling tightly against Jordie she let a low, loose puurr roll from her chest as she lay with him cuddled on the step.

Pulling away fromt he man slowly, she let a smile drift over her lips. She had been in this sort of situation before and the last guy hadn't returned her affections. Something told her she was jumping in feet first. Flickering her ears she smiled and leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. "Thankyous." She averted her gaze quickly picking up her crutches. She liked Jordie, possibly even more than she had liked Josh. She was a little dubious to admit to Jordie that she liked him. She would have to consult somone who knew better than she did. Richard would maybe be able to give her some advice?

Pulling herself up on her crutches she looked at Jordan with a weak, though friendly smile. She wasn't entirely sure if she could be told she was too young again. She had never understood that reasoning. With a gentle little smile she took a step away. "byebye, nap time jordie!" she grinned then, letting the shyness and feeling of fear melt away. She needed to ask somones advice...

“Tradition.. it’s… well… doing something out of habit, I guess.. like with the cast.. signing someone’s cast is supposed ot make them feel better.”

Jordan let her lean into him as he ruffled her arm with a paw. She was adorable, she really was and she adored him so much. He loved her company and enjoyed spending time with her. Colche was able to make him smile when he was sad and she was there when he needed a friend. Being her hero was still an adjustment, but every time he talked to the cheetah girl, he was finding himself more at ease with the concept. Jordan blushed when she kissed him and hugged her fondly, giving her gentle scratches with his claws up and down her back.

He puzzled as she got up initially. “Leaving so soon? It feels like you only just got here.” He stood up as well and gave her another warm hug. “Have a good nap, then, miss kitty.”

Colche let out a soft breath and hobbled off back down the beach to her sleeping place under the pines. She had to clear her head and not get in too deep. She had done that before and it just hurt, plus, jordie smelt of somone else. That didn't meant she didn't like him, but it did mean that maybe she shouldn't get so attached. Yawning she vanished round the edge of the trees, fully ready for her nap.
