It was Valentine's Day already, but Elenshi still wasn't done, long though he'd been working on it. He was certain something about it still wasn't right.
He began singing his work softly, trying to work it out before he saw Beatrice.
"Soft colors of autumn
Playing amongst hidden leaves
Sugary trees in high winds
Ever will protect thee
Flying, your feathers glisten
On fire in the noonday sun..."

Béatrice had recently just found out that there was such thing as a day where you shower your friends with hugs and kisses. She was even told that "Love" would be sprouting everywhere and its the best! Thing to have! She wanted that thing called love. Love? She didn't know what it was but it sounded very yummy nummy! She had found Takara and her human's other pets making sweets and chocolates. What were they doing that for?
"Nya? Takara what are you making?" Béa said with a soft tone.
Takara looked up from having his face in ice-ing. "Arrgg? Nya? COOKIES! And brownie for ducki ducki!" He said with a chomp at one of the brownies he had been making.
Béatrice went over to Chi whom was making sweets for just about everyone.
"Why are you making that?" Béa said with a soft undertone.
Chi smiled. "Ah. Because.. today is when you give the person you really admire very much something special! Usually I just make chocolates..."
Béatrice's ears perked up. That is what she will make. Chocolates! She ran outside to a small river. Gummie fish? No... She pounced away and finally finding chocolate lumps. Lumps of chocolate? She couldn't give him that? She picked up the lump and walked home to start melting away the chocolate. When it was just right she took it out of what the humans used to heat. "Ahh..." She dove her paws in and starting pitter patting it with her paws not knowing exactly what she was doing. Sculpting? Maybe? A heart? YEA! A heart! To show how much she cared. She grabbed other things like cream and such adding into the mixture. marshmallows were put it as a sprinkle.

Elenshi pondered and hummed and scratched at the dirt. The end didn't feel right. It needed something more. Rolling onto his back, he watched the clouds scudding along in the sky.
He was still stuck.
Turning back to his stomach, he saw a tree that looked much like a willow, with its branches on one side draping into the water, and on the other side...what looked like a small den of some sort of animal. It looked almost like the tree was protecting it...
With a start, he knew how to finish his song. With a little rearranging in the middle...yes, it would work! He spent a few minutes perfecting it, then bounded off to try and find Beatrice.

She grabbed the whip cream and sprayed his name on it. Her childish erge was too great for her to resist. She hyperly smiled and giggled saying his name bouncing. With a sort of heart shape she wrapped it. Contentively smiling as she was now done with the last one.
Two special someones.
She thought. She was very excited and had so long missed being in in their presence. She grabbed the wrapped heart that had Elenshi's name imprinted with her paw. Unknowningly walking out of the house and to her hill with chocolate, whip cream, and strawberry gew on her face. She trotted off skipping almost. Bouncing up and down to the little hill of hers where Elenshi had been with her. Walking and even racing. It was fun and she missed that almost so dearly to cry but only tears of happiness she thought. Thoughs were happy moments. They... were friends after all.
She got to the top of the hill. Wandering if he would be there. He wasnt. Should she wait? Would he be here? She wasnt so sure but she would wait for him anyways..
She set down the packed and curled around it; pawing at the package almost in bore.

Elenshi paused in his searching as he spotted a familiar figure at the top of a hill. The same hill where we had that race, he thought, smiling. With a grin, he ran up to meet her, humming the melody of the song he had composed.

Her ears twitched and moved this way and that hearing something. That expert hearing of hers. Her tail reacted before she did. Her tail wagging already hyperly as she was when she was making the present. It was a smile and a heart-warming presence that had took over her. She proud to her paws with utmost hyper-ivity.
Excited for this day was a day of frienship and hugs! She couldnt wait to see the look on his face. She bounced up and down waving. "I'm right here! right here!?

Elenshi grinned and shot up the hill, barely stopping in time at the top to give Beatrice a self-conscious hug.
"Happy Valentines Day!" He pulled out a small bouquet of wildflowers that he'd put together while pondering the details of his song.

She was surprised some and her eyes widened. He had hugged her? This was... different and unexpected. She was the one always climbing and hugging him. She smiled softly and snuggled in to his hug.
When she pulled away to see the wild flowers she immediately licked his nose before grabbing the flowers in such a hyper manner.
Her tail wagged quickly and her ears perked when she took a big sniff of the flowers.
Chocoalate and a cream smile took on to her face. She was glad to receive something from him on top of him being here. Although she missed his smell. She missed the smiles and laughs. The cherry color on his cheeks when she nibbled on his fins. Made her even more excited being around him. "thank you thank you! Gracia!" She exclaimed with her chocolate sitting; wrapped on the still ground.

Elenshi blushed and grinned.
"I'm glad you welcome. Umm...that's not all..."
He cleared his throat and began to sing, closing his eyes so he didn't have to see the reaction - he was suddenly sure she'd hate it. He hummed the melody through once first, gathering his courage.

His eyes opened somewhere in the last few lines, gazing into hers in an attempt to convey his feelings. As the song ended, he searched her face, trying to figure out what she thought.

Bea's ears flickered hearing him singing. It was pleasant and she never heard anyone sing before. She watched as he poured out the raw feelings and she was then calm... She closed her eyes swaying her head some.
As she heard his voice fade.. it made her tingle inside and her heart felt warm. She opened her eyes slowly to only meet with his eyes. Yellow reflected off of her black shining eyes. Her tail was at stunned as she was. She gazed in to eyes. Mid-day overlapping and paws began shaking.
"Ah.. ah-" She lost words that had played tricks on her mind that she was confusing them. Words. She needed them but what to say!? She couldn't move. The soothing sound and words.. were they for her.. Her white cheeks that were some covering in flower and cream glowed at hot pink. Her tail flickered some to try and get away from such a shock. she didnt know if her present was good enough and had almost forgotten all about it. Her tail wrapped around the present; covering it.

Elenshi read the shock on her face, but not the rest. His heart sank like a stone. She doesn't like it. I knew she wouldn't, but I had to try... He felt like his heart ripped in two as he heard her looking for words. Trying to find something to say that won't hurt me. She doesn't need to. I know it was horrible...I shouldn't have tried this. I rushed in without thinking. I shouldn't... She was always so kind. She'd probably find a nice way to say it, but he didn't think he could bear to hear the gentle, careful words conveying the fact that his song was a failure.
"I'm...sorry. I know it was bad. I...I'll go now."
Fins and tail drooping, he turned to go.

When he turned her reaction took some time to get over but she finally pushed herself and glomped him falling over. "Ah. A-I-I love it! Really! I like very much! much much! Mucho! Tu you.. song. Beautiful! Beautiful yes! Yes!" She said with joy and her heart in almost disarray. She hadn't felt that deep thud in her heart. She licked his fins and then nibbled. "I-I yo tengo algo a ti tambien!" She said with her accident returning and pondering whether to show him her sad excuse for a gift.
She looked over at the poorly wrapped present now. Knowing it wasn't that good as his was.

Elenshi blinked in surprise and shock, and a warm glow filled him inside, growing brighter and warmer by the second, matched by a slowly growing smile on his face. She likes it?! She likes it! With growing elation, he hugged her, his eyes bright. "You do? You really do?" He couldn't quite believe it, he was sure he was going to wake up any minute and realize the whole day was a dream.

"I love it! Really really!" She said as he hugged her. She moved some away and curled her wings over. She took out the small wrapped gift and held it in front of her. She scratched behind her ear as it was pathetic looking and he had given her the best... she really tried on these but nothing she did sort of came out right.. not as she ever wanted. She nuzzled the gift with her nose more towards him." She looking up at him with a soft smile.
"Yesh..I hope you like. Yes.." She said blushing some.
