Where are we? what the hell is going on? the dust has only just begun to fall crop circles in the carpet sinking, feeling Otashii yawned as he batted at an acorn, he'd dug it up from one of the thinner coatings of snow to use as a play toy. It skittered across the thin coating of the icey mix that had been planted upon the earth and the little puppy just sighed, moving away from his 'toy'. That had been boring, and he'd bored himself for at least an hour already. He wished he felt like actually doing something. But what was there to do? Perhaps he should round up his brothers and his sister and get a game started?
Discontent. The thought echoed through his mind louder than the wind blowing around him in the trees. He smiled faintly, sadly. Yes. He was discontent, and puppies never liked being discontent!
He began to move farther away from his family den, surely farther than he was allowed to go, nose to the ground and ears alert. Of course, he wasn't sure why grown ups smelt the earth... most of the scents he came upon really bugged him. He continued to do it though, exploring.Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cut outs speak no feeling no I don't believe you you don't care a bit, you don't care a bit

Daytime. Alexander squinted as the bright sun rays bounced painfully off the very white, very reflective snow. “Remind me once more why I need to get used to daylight?” He mumbled to no one but himself. The large pup padded along almost-silently in the slush. He also cursed Mother Nature for making it so cold.
This was going to be one of those boring days, wasn’t it? He had finished his last hunting expedition in the wee hours of dawn, so hunger wasn’t an issue. The blue male dipped his muzzle into the snow and chomped a few crystals in attempt to quench oncoming thirst.
But then… what was that in the distance? A puppy? Alexander instinctively crouched as low as possible in the snow, including tucking his ears back. He hated how the winter months masked scents; he was always being surprised. Alexander knew he stood out like a sore thumb, and couldn’t hide for long. However, puppies often meant parents and he didn’t want that kind of confrontation today.

His right ear perked but he still couldn't smell anything from the earth. So he looked up, eyes scanning the area around him. He sighed lightly, stopping a moment to stretch. His eyes passed over the other puppy for a breif moment, thinking the other just a shadow.
He picked up his pace, eyes still searching. Wasn't there water around? Too late had he realized that the shadow hadn't been a shadow but an actual other puppy. "Hiding?" He breathed out, almost looking over to the other again. Was it best to ignore these kinds of things? His gaze flicked sideways but he did not turn his head. Why was he hiding?

Deimos trotted through the trees, nose sniffing at anything that still had a scent amongst the snow. Mostly, he followed the criss-crossing paw and hoof prints of various creatures, including the fresh prints of his friend, the blue male Alexander. They'd gone their separate ways for a bit, but Deimos decided that it was time to meet up again.
He couldn't speak for Alexander, but he'd had enough alone time for a while.
Idly lifting his head in a quick glance, he did a double take, head cocked to one side. He'd found Ander, but he watched as another brightly colored puppy approached his friend. Hackles rising just a bit, he slowed his pace and approached stiff-legged, tail waving like a banner above him.

The sound of the red and yellow male’s voice trailed into Alexander’s tucked ears. He had been spotted. Well, nothing to do but face the facts. Alexander puffed his fur out and stood up to meet the oncoming pup. He kept his nose lifted slightly, sniffing intently at the breeze. Alexander was searching for any sign of other wolves, and trying to decide if they would be friend or foe.
Suddenly, he caught a whiff of a familiar scent on the breeze. Could it be…? A blue ear flicked back to listen for the oncoming pup as Alexander shifted his body to watch both of the reds at once. How similar they looked, he mused. This made him curious to know if the newcomer was anything like his friend Deimos.
Raising his tail and ears, Alexander let out a soft, welcoming yip to his friend, and cocked his head at the red and yellow male, curious about him.

Otashii froze as he spotted the movement from the corner of his vision. He heard the yip, was intelligent to know it wasn't directed to him, and glanced over his shoulder. Another pup, red in his coat, who seemed to be on good terms with this blue boy. "Yuri, Yuri." He whispered to himself with a small chuckle, turning around to face them. He assumed no pose except netural, leaving his ears partly perked and his tail limp.
"Bear have your tounges then?" His brows perked and his voice was light, though still teasing.

Deimos lost his composer and bounded up to his friend, licking his face and nipping his ears affectionately. Then he glanced at the other puppy, head cocked to one side. Nudging Alexander with his muzzle, Deimos asked, "Who's this?"

The young blue pup met his friend with many of the same gestures. He nuzzled the red’s muzzle quickly before replying with, “I’m not sure.”
Alexander’s gaze focused closer on the new red pup. What did he want them to say? The blue male took a few steps forward. His steps were not intimidating, but nor were they timid. Alexander had no problems with this boy… yet. His features smoothed, showing no immediate signs of aggression, however he continued to use a dominant stance, trying to send a clear message to this pup.
“You haven’t told your name,” Alexander said plainly. If the other wanted any information, it was polite to first share the same information about yourself. At least, that’s how Alexander understood it.

He just giggled lightly again and shook his head once. "Ob~serv~ant!" He spat out with a bubble of mirth and amusement, obviously making fun of the blue pup but in a friendly manner. "I have not said my name, though I have not asked for either of yours either. And seeing as you seem curious of my name perhaps it is you who should be saying you name first, yes?" He was a quick thinker, so it seemed.
He didn't really care about being polite or trying to send messages through stances, he thought all of these things silly. But perhaps he should just play along? After a minute he bowed his head, peaking another glance at the two as he did this. It was hard to hold in the laughter. "Never mind, it hardly matters who speaks their name first. I'm O~ta~shii." He winked at the two, waiting for their reaction. He rather liked singing out random words and especially his name, they sounded much cuter that way.

Snorting, Deimos lifted his left hind leg and scratched at his ribs, nearly falling over. Yet he kept his balance, and decided that Otashi was a few branches short of a full tree. However, the pup wasn't showing any aggression, and he wasn't challenging either him or Ander. Might as well be nice. His left ear flicking back lazily, he sat on his haunches.
"My name is Deimos." Leaning slightly into the blue pup beside him, he added, "And this is Alexander."
Wondering why the other male was out alone, yet smelling clearly of other wolves, Deimos cocked his head the other direction. "Why are you out alone?"

Alexander’s first thought about the little Otashii was that his attitude was slightly condescending. He must be a pack pup, Alexander thought. The blue male chanced a glance a Deimos before turning back to the other red for comparison. He could tell how being on their own had toughened Deimos and himself. At first, Alexander thought that might not be such a bad thing, but then his mind delved deeper. He had his while life to be a responsible adult, when did he get to be a pup?
The blue male’s ears drooped slightly at this thought. He wished his mother was still alive to bring food back to the den every day, to watch over him and his brother, and to snuggle with when he was lonely and cold. Alexander wondered if he would ever stop missing her. She had been so good to him.
With a puppy sigh, his mind dropped back into reality. Hearing Deimos’ introduction, Alexander looked to Otashii, waiting for a response. He usually wasn’t this quiet, but there didn’t seem to be a whole lot to say yet.

Otashii seemed to be watching Deimos very intensly, each move he made the other red male's eyes shifted to follow it. After he was finished speaking his eyes flicked toward the blue pup. "Al~ex and Demmy!" He murmered softly, deciding that was what he'd call them. "Right?" He asked, might as well play like he was going to ask their opinion on their new nicknames.
He sat slowly, toes curling lightly against the snow. "Out alone?" His head tilted and he smirked lightly, eyes shutting partly. "You two are very silly with these questions." Why did he think this? "You were both alone yourselfs until you ran into each other here.. right?" After a minute Otashii's attention left the two strangers completely and he stared up at the sky. "I'm out here by myself because no one came with me, of course." Otashii liked twisting sentances better than being straight forward.

Deimos felt his lip curl at the nickname, his ears flicking back. "Don't call me that, pack puppy."
Suddenly sensing his friend's despair, Deimos nudged Alexander with his muzzle before leaping away, twisting in midair so that he landed facing the other two puppies. "Tag!"
He too thought it unfair that they couldn't be the puppies they should be; they'd had to grow up so fast. But right now, all he wanted to do was play. Dropping his forequarters to the dirt, his tail wagging like a banner high in the air, the spotted pup barked.
"You can play too," he said offhandedly, glancing askance at Otashii.

Alexander flinched at Deimos’ sudden movement. He momentarily let his guard drop and his tail lower as the blue mail tried to figure out what his friend was doing. A game? This looked fun, Alexander thought. His puppy energy began to rise at the thought of a game. Alexander hopped around before rising up on his hind legs out of excitement. Before completely losing control, he turned to Otashii.
“You can call me whatever you want,” Alexander said calmly. “I’ve been called many things.” This was true. He was brother, son, pup, Alexander, Alex, and Club, along with others. Names didn’t make you who you are, after all.
The blue male wagged his tail invitingly to Otashii before dashing after Deimos in attempt to ‘tag’ him back.

Deimos grinned over his shoulder, seeing Alexander chasing after him. He'd never played like this before, completely free from worry and responsibility. But than again, he'd never had a friend to play with before. Now he had Alexander.
"You'll never catch me!" he barked over his shoulder, not paying attention to where he was going.
As soon as the words fell from his tongue, he slammed right into a bush, yelping at the myriad of sticks that stabbed and poked him.
He was also stuck. "Aw crap . . . "
