February/March Art Contest
This is a new feature in our guild... A monthly art contest. The theme will change each month. Sorry for the late start this month... I just came up with the idea. Therefore, for this first contest, we will combine the remainder of February with March's contest.
This Month's Theme: Love or The Return of Spring
Since we are combining February and March in this first monthly art contest, we have two themes to choose between. Your picture should fit one theme or the other, or if you're feeling industrious, feel free to combine both themes.
Theme One: Love
In honour of Valentine's Day, February's theme is love. Valentine's Day originated as a Catholic holiday honouring St. Valentine, but in recent years this day has grown to be celebrated in one form or another by most of Western society. So let's create pictures that help spread the idea of love.
Your image can be about love between two people, between God and his followers, between gods in mythology, countries, races, etc. It can be love in the form of emotion, brotherhood, friendship, passion, and so on.
Theme Two: The Return of Spring
March is seen by many cultures as the month when winter ends and spring begins. Many religions acknowledge the return of spring in one way or another. Draw a picture that relates to how you view the end of winter and beginning of spring.
The Prizes
The amount of winnings depends on how many people enter the contest. The more people enter, the larger the prize will be. All donations also go into the prize money.
Current Prizes:
1st Place: 2000g
2nd Place: 1000g
3rd Place: 500g
The first place winner will also have their artwork featured on this guild's homepage! It will be the first thing people see when they visit this guild!
How to Enter
- Anyone may enter as many times as they like, but there is an entrance fee of 500g per submission. (Note: to preserve fairness, each person can only win once per contest)
DO NOT pay this gold to the guild account. We can't do anything with that gold.
Gold must be sent to RTG Mule, this guild's mule account. Click here to start your trade.
Gold is not required until the deadline. You can submit your entry before paying the fee. However, if gold is not received by the deadline, your entry will be invalid.
Do not PM your entry. Post it in this thread and it will be entered as soon as your gold is received.
Submission Guidelines
- Accepted mediums: painting, drawing, digital art, photography, etc.
Religion should somehow play a role in the picture.
Nudity is allowed only in moderation and good taste. If your picture contains nudity, post a link to the picture instead of the picture itself, and a warning.
Everything you submit must follow the TOS. This should go without saying.
Your picture must not portray any individual, culture, group or religion in a negative light. Stay true to the spirit of our guild: Tolerance.
Remember, religion and love and spring are very broad topics, so I expect to see some great creativity! (Gaia characters and avi art created to fit the theme are acceptable as well.)
Deadline for submissions: March 31st!
Judging will take place the following day.
