The Yian Garuga is a very powerful, and a very fast Wyvern.
The difference from the Kut-Ku is, he is poisonous, and uses sound in place of fire. Also, his weak points have change dramatically for the worst.
Even with the Sword & Shield, you will have some possible trouble, most weapons bounce off of the Garuga and nearly every spot of this wyvern.
It's weakest point is its face.
And the good thing about the Yian Garuga, is if you kick the s**t out of him enough and still run out of time, he has the same HP amount.
You can cut his tail off, adding the only way to get a Garuga Plate. But you might also be able to get it as a reward, highly rare.
G Level Garuga comes in on the 6th kill. NOT DEFEAT.
Garuga can get his face smashed in, twice. Ear cut off, tail cut off.
Silver Garuga begins to drop higher level carve items which allow better armor and the upgrades to Wolf weapons.
Best Possible Way to Defeat:
I am personally a Sword & Shield user.
So as always, it would be as if fighting the Kut-Ku but only going for the face.
Attack when YOU feel comfortable, do not rush, it's a 20 minute battle, and I usually don't win first fight.
Move in swiftly, roll out when you feel uncomfortable, and try to keep distance when he berserks.
If you get caught in the wall/corner, you are ********.

i personally finds other weapons like hammer and GS are easier then SnS. How can SnS be easy
the hammer hav the ability to K.O the garura and it lasted for loke 10 sec, thats enough time to tripple pond the head 2 times(6hits). That can cause some serious dammage and breack the head 2 times straight away.(head and ear runs only)

My advice is most useful for SnS users, but it is very useful.
Stay under Garuga to avoid his attacks, or stay at a distance and get out of his way. When he pauses, rush in and attack his head and/or tail. His head can be broken twice; first his beak, then his ear. His tail can be chopped off for an extra carve.
A piece of advice(or two): You'll need a weapon with green sharpness to even make a dent in his health, and the only weapons that can beat him easily have either blue or white sharpness(a weapon with blue sharpness can be made and upgraded from his materials, but it needs to be upgraded once after it's made). Also, block his attacks where possible, because then you'll be right next to him when he's done.

GS advice? nothing but be to yian-garuga's left and side swipe, dodge over and over... if he falls, full charge his head, if you want the tall, always over head slash, but don't bother charing... only use under hand swing if you've dodged between his legs, you won't even have to aim it!
fairly basic, infact you can use this on 80% of bosses
