does the Dubbing really make the anime sound like crap? like Naruto and Prince of Tennis?

Dubbed anime is normally better than the Japanese one. Like the dub for Suzumiya is going to be really good because the VA’s they got for it are some of the best.

dubbed anime is great! if it isnt dubbed for tv >_> which means that it gets a complete PG rating makeover.... i perfer the cussing..

99% of the time, i think japanese dialogue is better. the voice actors fit the characters so well, and they put so much emotion into it. there's also alot of japanese speaking-only jokes or sayings that you just can't translate. one thing i like about anime is that it allows me to see the life of another culture, because it's designed only FOR that culture. there is no "overseas editing" and stuff. what your watching is intended for japanese people who are different than us. dubbing "americanizes" anime so it's easier for some to watch.
every now and then though, a series comes across a little bit better in english. one of the only examples i can think of, is Ranma 1/2. it has so much flavor in the english version compared to the japanese.

Dubbing isn't always bad. A lot of TV shows have shitty dubbing because they try to market the show to kids.

I really dislike dubbed cause they cut some things out. Also for the Bleach dub they made Ichigo sound like a 30 yr old man. He's only 14!

I thought Ichigo sounded good. Most of the voices in bleach are good.

The dubbing of Inuyasha is just amazing! The voice actors did a good job.

Blade678 I thought Ichigo sounded good. Most of the voices in bleach are good. Really? It wasn't as good as the original. But the dubbed version of Shaman King was good.

I haven't seen many dubbed animes so it's hard to say.. But most of the dubbed animes I've seen just annoy me.. rolleyes I'm sure there are animes that are better dubbed, but I just haven't seen any yet..

well ive seen my share of dubbed and non dubbed animes... while like Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust i perfer the dubbed because it fit well while the japanese version is eh a little bland.
and i heard the japanese version of a Ghost in the Shell movie and it was ok but went a little too fast and just seemed more complicated than it should be (with all that computer type cyber talk) and in the english version u can just sit back and listen and what not.
i watched Star Ocean Ex in japanese and i much perfer it because the voice actors are better.
i watched Trinity Blood in japanese and id perfer it... just sounds kooler..
i also feel that anything that has a main base of japanese culture like Basilisk would be better in japanese because it would fit more properly to me...
i watched Cowboy Bebop originally in english and i have it now in japanese and its just so weird! i got used to the other voices and to me they arent like japanese-ish but more american cultured.. i mean look at Spike and Ed... what more should i explain?
also this isnt an anime but i saw a movie called Volcano High (actually i own it) and its in korean and was dubbed (by MTV because they are the ones that liscened it) with rappers voices like Snoop Dogg, Kelis, Maya, Andre 3000, and others like that.. and it was done REALLY well and was funny beyond belief and oddly, fit VERY well with the characters.
so not all dubbing is bad.. but some just should be left alone

I hate dubbed anime, the Japanes sounds way better. Like Naruto, the dubbed one sounds like crap, can't stand it.
