If he saw one more fluffy red heart floating around he was going to stab it. The whole city was covered in the stuff and it was starting to get annoying. Actually being stopped by every person selling roses asking if he wanted to buy one for someone special was worse but he couldn't stab people without orders.
He had the only thing he needed for the damn holiday stashed away at his house so he wasn't going to be lured into more. It was just stupid candy and flowers. The way he figured everyone gave each other chocolate and flowers on valentines day so it wasn't that special. People should surprise others with gifts to make them mean more or something like that.
At least it meant that Reno was being at least slightly nice. He was probably sucking up to the boss hoping that he'd get something out of it. Which meant that while he had the door to his office open airing it out he could hear Reno trying to be overly nice to the Boss.

For the most part Kaleb had escaped the holiday that morning, not many people in a hospital's emergency room had much care for flowers or chocolate, they were more concerned with their health than pleasing a loved one with gifts. But he hadn't escaped the holiday entirely, just as he finished work for the day and was on his way out he was given a little box of Hershey's Kisses by the kind secretary at the front desk. She even kissed his cheek, and insisted on rubbing off the red smudge of lipstick before letting him out the front doors.
Kaleb didn't think anyone would notice a red smudge through his bright blush, but he was cheered by the surprise chocolate. He rubbed at his cheek a bit more as he waited for his bus, planning on heading home for lunch and then hiding away in his apartment with a book for the rest of the day.

He really expected Rude to be paying more attention than to let a Creeper get a hold of his arm but something must have distracted the Turk. That something was probably Reno with the way he was acting too nice.
Shaking his head he pulled out his phone to call the young Turk. He'd be able to help and that way he wouldn't have to listen to Reno b***h later about his partner being handicapped for the holiday.

Kaleb jumped a bit as he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, and pulled it out quickly. As he expected, his healing services were required at the office. After hanging up, he wandered away from the bus stop and stepped through a portal to Rufus' office without bothering to go home and drop off his bag and little heart-shaped box of chocolates first.

He pointed at Rude who was currently holding a now red bandage around his arm. "It seems our friend has decided to be an idiot for the day" As he spoke he wasn't looking at Rude but at his red-headed partner.
He frowned as he heard Rufus talking and got up from his desk to see what was going on. He hadn't heard Rude come back in so seeing him slightly bloody and Kaleb there was slightly surprising.

Kaleb couldn't help but feel a little faint when he first saw all the blood on the bandage, but he quickly set down his bag and chocolates and went over to heal Rude. It wasn't a very clean wound, but to the little mage, just handling the sight of the blood on the bandage posed a greater difficulty.
Once he was done he turned around to ask Rufus if there was anything else he was needed for, but mostly he was just interested in not looking at the blood.

He stopped by where Kaleb had set down his things and poked at the chocolates. Who had given his partner those things? He didn't have a girlfriend. Maybe there was someone at his other job that liked him.
"No, that was all i needed." He leaned back in his chair and looked at Rude as he checked his arm.

Kaleb nodded, already feeling better now that Rude and the blood was behind him. He went to get his stuff and blinked at Riley poking at his chocolates. "Did you want a Kiss?" he asked with a smile, certainly willing to share his gift with his partner.

"A .. what? Oh! you mean the chocolate right." He snatched his hand back from the chocolate as he straightened up. He'd been caught red handed, as it were, digging in his partners stuff.

Kaleb scooped up his bag and the little red box, and his tail wagged happily. "Yeah, you looked like you wanted one." He opened the box and offered it to Riley, letting his partner take the first foil-wrapped chocolate if he wanted it.

"Nah .. don't need chocolate." He shook his head and tried to shake certain images out of his head.
"Aww, what's wrong Riley. Don't wanna kiss from you're partner?" He was leaning against Rude's chair as he spoke and grinning at the other two.

Kaleb pulled the chocolates back, but his ears perked again when he heard Reno speak up. "Did you want one?" he asked, turning to look at the redhead with his tail still wagging.

His smirk widened. "Ya know i do." He crooked one finger at Kaleb. "Come'ere and gimmie one"
He glared at Reno. He knew what the other red-head had to be thinking and he didn't like it one bit.

Kaleb was delighted to be able to share his chocolate, and he didn't think about what Reno could really be asking him for. He smiled as he stepped towards Reno and offered his little box of chocolates.

His hand bypassed the box of chocolates completely and he grabbed Kaleb's collar. Keeping his eyes on Riley the whole time he hauled Kaleb closer to him and took the kind of kiss he really wanted.
He snarled as Reno kissed his partner and stalked over to yank Kaleb away from Reno's grasp.
