Here's the scoop on the latest Xbox 360 game coming out on 2/20/07.

Crackdown for 360 is a action/shooter game that redefines how you play games identical to GTA. Unlike Saint's Row and The Godfather, Crackdown has a new and innovative system of gameplay. Here is how it is:

Story: The story is very shaky. Not much of it is created to be interesting or majorly grasping. YOu start out as a special unit in a police academy called "The Agency". You are a collection of Agent DNA to make the perfect weapon. You are enhanced to adapt to your environment which is Pacific City, a city made up of three islands controlled by violence and gangs. The three gangs you will face are Los Muertos, Volk, and Shin. As the agent, you must eliminate the gangs key members and restore the city to former peace.
Point Roster: 2 out of 5

Graphics: The graphics are not too heavy as what you would of desired from an Xbox 360 game. The characters are developed like cels (for reference, try remembering playing Jet Set Radio Future, or Thirteen). he environments however are very beautiful, despite all the graffiti. From a close up view, the buildings do seem to have a nice design as to compared from afar. Explosions and everything else do very well in the game, not to mention the dynamics used in the game.
Point Roster: 4 out of 5

Sound: It lacks the flavor of a full world. Sure, the screams of pain are quite nice, but unfortunately the soundtrack reeks and the city has a certain dead tone towards it. However, Xbox 360 does have its perks by having the audio player built in, so simply get a nice little memory stick, throw your favorite music on it, plug it into the 360 and use it to substitute the sound environment
Point Roster: 2 out of 5

Gameplay: The demo seemed to be a little repetitive at first due to how the bosses tend to be so easy to kill, but there is more fun to be had doing the minigames and the orb collecting. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop, using all corners of the entire map to get to your enemies, finding new ways to kill them, and honing your skills will be a ******** blast. The driving however is very lacking of skills or anything for that matter. If you want to challenge yourself in this game, drive. Other than that, the orb collecting is extremely fun. All and all, it's a game where Crackdown is the equivalent of Crack. It's addicting and fun
Point Roster: 5 out of 5

Replay Value: Online co-op makes it even more fun! Havng a friend by your side to help you out will make the game twice as fun to see who can kill off the most people, or who can throw their car the farthest at an enemy. Not to mention that the races on rooftops will be fun against your own friend.
Point Roster: 5 out of 5

Bonus: For reserved copies and normal copies, comes a beta for Halo 3 multiplayer. So that will also be a reason to have fun with your buddies.
Point Roster: 5 out of 5

Overall: 4 out of 5

Creator: Realtime Worlds
Type: Adventure/Shooter
Format: Only for Xbox 360
Retail Price: $59.99

Were you just taking a crack at Saints Row and the Godfather?
Saints Row to me had just as much as a different feel as this game did to GTA. But I guess it's all in opinion.

I personally can only tell you what I've played from the demo which was about 3-4 hours of gameplay. This game looks promising. But without the Halo 3 beta it would just be a rental. The story lacked life from what I saw it was some monotone guy telling you to kill some drug dealer. No cinematics or anything in the demo I saw. You don't have much personality and the whole cloning thing is a bit too much like Brute Force to me.

Graphics were alright, I'm not really into the cell shaded stuff but it was alright.

Sound, as you said the soundtrack was terrible. There's no humour or anytype of personality in the citizens as you pass by.

Gameplay was alright but I didn't find a ton of stuff to do. Drive, shoot, collect orbs. I doubt I'd play this after I'd had gotten most of the achievements.

I can't fully judge it yet because I haven't played the actual game.

You are semi right. I took a crack at Godfather, but I fully own Saints Row (for proof, look in my gamerscore when you are on Xbox live.)
Saint's Row seemed to have a different feel because they didn't seem to half a** customization and gameplay. Saint's Row is like a fully upgraded GTA.

As for the Brute Force comparison, I can totally agree, as well as there is no humor to the people around you.. Running them over makes me feel.... like I killed a dead person in this game. The cel shading was something I did not expect but with a full scale 3 dimensional world, what else can you do to compromise room since fine graphics need a lot of room to operate with. Sound was right on the dot, and yes, there wasn't much to do, but maybe that's cause it's just a demo, try the Dead Rising demo and then the full game and you will see a wonderful separation between the two.

Well I hope so, eventually I'll get crackdown I just hope it gets more use than the beta does.
The game was a bit too bland for me now though, but I'm sure the actual game will have improvements. The thing I can say I really like about this game and is the massive battles that can happen I've never seen in other games like 25 cops vs 25 gangsters.

Yes it is pretty full scale when it comes to a ton of AI going at it.
I want to see how it looks with Co-op at it's fullest. Having a friend to jump around and slaughter enemies with is muy fantastico ^o^

Well Im going to get it when it comes out next week. I love the demo and cant wait to get it. I just hate the fact that there isnt much side missions. I will just mostly go after the green orbs or w/e. Jumping off buildings and such.
