Kat had wandered off on her own today. She figured she should at least try to be on her own for a little bit while Ai was...somewhere, actually, where had he gone today? She couldn't quite remember, but she was trying to remember pathways to get to and from the hiding=spot-den. Ai'd be proud wouldn't he?

She smiled as she padded along, still a slight limp in her step from her encounter with that...that thing. Stupid winged thing, it hurt her, she didn't like that thing very much, she hoped to never see it again. Kat just wanted to get out on her own, find a way to fit in here, to make friends.

Wahabu was in a cheerful mood as he went for a walk out in the Pridelands, which was not unusual for him. He had been having a fine time since talking to his mother about her being a goddess- he was starting to wonder, though, if he should go look for Kubwa and apologize. But he hadn't seen Kubwa in a little while.

As he wandered, he spotted an unfamiliar figure in the distance. He squinted his red and blue eyes curiously, trying to figure out who it was and whether or not he knew them. It didn't seem so, but he noticed that it was a girl. That made him somewhat hesitant, and instead of actively approaching her, he just stood there.

Kat looked around and smiled, she flicked her tail and peered around until her hazel eyes fell on a rather large yellow form, not too far away actually. "Perhaps they live here...and could help me..." she didn't know where the best spots were to hunt, not that she was great at hunting anyways, perhaps a nice place to fish. Yes, that'd be some nice information.

Kat then padded along slowly towards this yellow figure, as she got closer, she noticed his eyes were different colors, that was strange yet neat, it was like, two in one. Sort of what she was trying to be with her sister. She stopped when she got a bit closer, sat back and smiled. "Hi, I'm Kat, umm...I was wondering...do you know this area around here well?" she asked, motioning with her paws to the grasslands that they were on currently.

Wahabu wasn't sure he wanted to go unnoticed, but when it was clear that she'd spotted him, he wasn't too sure he wanted to be noticed either. He offered the approaching lioness a sheepish smile when he thought she was close enough to see it- she looked friendly at least.

"Hi," he greeted, tilting his head a bit, "I'm Wahabu, and... I like to think I know my way around here." His reply was hesitant at first, but he had some confidence in how well he knew how homelands.

"Really? Thats great!" Kat said rather loudly, but with excitement, She flicked her tail and took a step closer to Wahabu, looking at his eyes, "I've never seen eyes like yours before, they're pretty..." What was she doing?! She wanted a fishing spot! She got a bit distracted sometimes she guessed.

"Wahabu, do you know of any good places to fish?" she was quite hungry, and the more she tried to not think of food, the hungrier she became. "I don't really know..of any good places, I'm not the best at hunting or fishing..."

Wahabu was a bit startled by her enthusiasm, but smiled a bit. He was even more surprised when she commented on his eyes. "O-oh?" he said, tilting his head a bit and crossing his eyes for a split second as if he could get a look at them both that way, "My mama has eyes like mine, just not the same colors."

She was very quick to change subjects, he noticed when she asked about fishing spots.

"I'm not real good at hunting or fishing either," he said with a matter-of-fact nod, and looked around them to get an idea of which way everything is, "But I bet it'd be good fishing in some parts of the river.."

"Your mother, really? I bet she's very pretty," Kat said with a nod and a flick of her tail. He mother had same colored eyes, as her father and sister once did. "Would you maybe be able to take me there Wahabu? I'm sort of hungry and...I really can't catch many things on foot...I won't fall in the river I swear!"

Least she prayed she wouldn't.

When was the last time she swam anyway?

"Could you take me there? I really..don't know where, the river is actually..." she peered around but didn't see where it might be. Ai should have told her which way to go maybe, BUT if she went fishing, and got an extra fish and brought it back to him, maybe he would be happy!

Wahabu decided that he liked Kat, she had so many nice things to say and seemed very genuine about it all. He nodded happily, "I think she is. And I can show you the river, but we might have to walk a bit to find a good place to fish in it." He nodded matter-of-factly, trying to recall where might be best for fishing.

"This way," he said, and turned to show her the way to the river.

"Really?! Its very appreciative Wahabu, I'm rather new here, haven't really...gotten my bearings I guess..." she said with a smile, trying to stay positive. At least she could walk normally for the most part, only a slight limp tormented her now. "This is one of the few times I've been out here on my own...I'm glad I found someone as nice as you to help me."

She flicked her tail and bounded up next to him and waited for him to pad along, wherever he went, she would follow in hopes that she wouldn't get lost.

"I figured you were quite new if you didn't know about the river!" he commented brightly, meaning no offence by it but making conversation, "Who do you normally hang out with if you don't usually come alone? It's not that bad wandering around alone. And if you get lost, there are a lot of lions around to help you find your way."

Wahabu chatted away while walking along towards the river. Any anxiety he did feel around her was forgotten as they got into a conversation and it seemed clear that she was nothing but friendly.

"Yea, I don't know where many places are, I do know where my den-hiding spot is though," Kar said with a smile, padding along with him. Yes, her hiding spot, just perfect for her and Ai so that nasty big black winged thing wouldn't come back and hurt her again. Thats good to know, I rather hate getting lost, and I'm usually with Ai most of the time, he's helped me a lot," she said with a nod.

First Ai had become her friend, then helped her come to stay here, yes, she would forever be indebted to him.

"The den is an important one to know," he nodded brightly, "That way you can always get home, especially with all the help you could find. I don't know anyone named Ai, but I don't know even half the lions around here." Wahabu knew it'd be odd if he did happen to know who Kat spent most of her time with.

"Is Ai new too?" he asked curiously, "Should he be coming along to find the river?"

He thought it was kind of odd that Ai might know where the river is, but wasn't the one showing her where it was. It only made sense that he was new! Unless she was trying to make more friends, in which case it made more sense.

Kat shook her head, "No, I met him when he was a bit younger, he lives here, was born here I think...he's darker colored, and his mane is striped," she said with a nod and a smile. Yes, she would always remember his pelt color, mane stripes and friendly smile. She wondered if he was worried at all that she might get lost on her own.

"I don't really...know many here...I sort of wanted to see who I could meet today but, I have a feeling I might get lost or something..." she gave a helpless smile as if she knew she'd get lost already, but she was trying her hardest afterall! Plus, she did come across Wahabu.

"So, you're out adventuring on your own," he commented with a small laugh, not at her but at the general idea, "Getting lost might be the easiest way to meet people, because when you do get lost you have to talk to someone if you want to find your way back. And if you don't ask someone, you're forced to pay really close attention to what you see."

It was win-win, really. Kat had the right idea trying to go look around herself.

"It might be the easiest, but, its sort of intimidating," she said softly with a light laugh. She kept up her pace with Wahabu, trying to take in all of the things they were passing, about how far they were going. She wanted to remember how to get back. Wouldn't Ai be happy if she could get around the pridelands without him having to worry if she got back to the den or not?

Well, least she'd be proud of herself.
