The Account of Mikkal Strom- Name: Mikkal Strom Gender: Male Age: 27 Eyes: Amber/brown Hair: Brown, streaked with blonde Significant features: Aside from his already unusualy colored eyes, Mikkal, or "Mack" as many call him, is made more notable by his scars. The right side of his face has been partialy savaged by some thin, sharp blade, including a cut that cuts downward from the corner of his mouth. His torso and arms are likewise marked, giving him the look of having been actually autopsied, though he's demonstratively still alive. His arms too have deep inscisions on them, though scars elsewhere on his body have not been displayed. A visible tattoo on his arm reads: Oh draconian devil. Oh Lame saint. ((yes this is from DaVinci code.)) More information will be revealed as it is uncovered in rp. - Occupation: Formerly a sailor on an merchant vessel. Disembarked at Tortuga to look for new work rather than sign back on with his old ship.
-------- Clothing: Mack is most often found in plain and simple clothing, often grays as though he were trying to look smaller, or less noticable. A Difficult task for man of his notable size and scars, as he's neither a small nor frail man. He expressess a particular fondness for a grey longcoat, which shows much signs of wear.
Weapon of choise: Fists or a sword.
Native Language: German ((which the player does not speak at all well)) Though his accent is faint at best. He also speaks English, and poor Spanish. Like many sailors, his education is incomplete at best and his skills at language were learned on the sea. He can read, but limpingly, and his writing is stiff and awkward.

The Journal of Mikkal Strom
Entry the First:
It has been some time since I kept a journal, though at times in my life I have found it catharthic to keep them, though I have always burned them when the pages are full. There are too many names entwined with my own that might be unfairly damaged. In the end, I suspect this too shall be consigned to the flames, if I have a say in the matter, though pages and thoughts have escaped me before. I departed my last ship, whos name shall not be recorded here, almost two weeks ago, planning to stay in the port of Tortuga until an better oportunity came along, though unfortunately, until now. None had. Past experiences have made me a careful judge of character about the sort of crew I will join, and Tortuga, while an very active port, is not nessisarily, alas, a port in which one finds men of good character. Opportunity did come knocking before the debtors did, though not in a form I had been expecting. The Fallach Lasair, an pirate ship, captained by an mysterious captain, whos name I may have overheard, but I will not record until I know it for certain. Between two choises I faced that night, I chose that one over the more 'legitimate' sailing ship, captained by a French Woman one might only describe as -dangerously mad-. Why she is not confined in a Sanitarium is a secret kept only between her and God himself, because she spoke lightly of taking orders from a pet tropical bird, and of a cook serving cannibal meals. Somehow she signed crew, who, I hope for their own sake, will quietly mutiny and put the poor woman to a merciful death before she kills them all. The Captain of the pirate ship seemed far more balanced and less...excitable, though as I hope not to cross the madwomans path again, I will leave her end to fate. A good man, though if my eyes do not deceive me, possessed of sharp teeth and perhaps not truly a 'man' at all, by which I mean 'not human'. Still, I had a good feeling about him, and I think I made a better choise, though perhaps a less honest one, by some standards. I also made the interesting aquaintence of one "Sione DeFleur", a tiny red headed whisp with a ball and chain around her ankle. Only in Tortuga one supposes. Stronger than she looks, she clapped a man in the jaw with the ball when he made a grab for her, though we met more particularly after she hid behind me to escape his persuit. Strong man, I've seen smaller put down by such blows, but I laid him out flat. His harm will probably seem more clear when the rum clears out of him. Of all skills, she is a sawbones....like my ((this part crossed out heavily.)). She says her skills are good, and the ship will need her. A good surgeon is hard to come by at sea.

Entry the First, Part the Second: We walked in the market for a time, after putting out marks to paper and signing on, officialy, as crew of the Falach Lasair. Such a strange name, I wonder what it means? What kind of ship is she, to be captained by a mysterious man such is ours? Those questions will be answered sooner than others I should think, such as wondering what would make a whisp like Sione, strong as she is, to seem to feel safe around a man like myself, to buy me a gift. A quilt for my berth, the reds and autumn shades make me think of her hair. So now actually does the cover of this journal, though I bought it in irony for the chances of it being consigned to the flame. She seems one part child and one part woman. and I am not certain if this means one part of that is true and the other not, or if this strange duality is simply who she is. It seems...at least from what I see at the moment, that the woman must be her, though it is a part of her to which she is still awakening. A strength to which she is still becoming accustomed. Since she seemed so taken with the charms at the market, I bought her one more, though I can only hope she liked it. Perhaps it was foolish since surely she would have bought it had it appealed? I bought her a charm of a Scarab, the odd beetle from Egypt that's supposed to represent the way the sun passess across the sky. I bought her an clay Scarab too, though I did not ask from where it had come. Not a tomb I hope, but the color was nice. The charm was brilliant blue, like the feather of a peacock I saw once, it would look nice with her hair and pale skin, and the token was a funny sort of bronze. It looked like the sun across water to me. Maybe thats how the Nile looks when the sun begins to rise in that place. Would the sky be the color of her hair? Foolish of a man like me to wonder about. Regardless of her past, she's a woman of breeding, and great skill, and quite a handsome sort of woman too. There's a little too much strength growing in her delicate face to call her 'doll like', unless she were a doll made of steel. Someone noble will come along and see her worth, and then? I suppose I will be glad for her, because she deserves no less.

Entry the Second, Part the First: What circle, sir? Perhaps we should compare stories.... FOOL! Fool of a man to say ANYTHING of the sort. Even if he's no demon at all, for his claims, that sort of imputence get a man a lashing. As if I didn't stand out enough, like a damned ox, I should bare my shoulders to the lash like I wanted it?....

Entry the Second: Part the Second: She's a smaller ship than I would have thought, but not too very small. Not much time I'm afraid to look around her yet, though her sails looked good, and her lines fast, a real swift lady of the seas, though my attention was mostly on taking the Navigator, Miss Anabelle, below after she'd been laid out by an pig bellied man in the tavern. I'm not sure entirely what had happened between them, though he seemed damn pleased with himself before someone held a knife to drooping gut. Anabelle herself looked rather the worse for wear, barely coming back awake as we reached the ship. No idea what harm she had of it though, as the Captain took her from us the moment we were bellow, giving Sione no more than a look. Although I carried her at orders, Master Nicholas gave me a tounge lashing as well...makes me wonder if he's as pleased to use the cat as he is his tounge. Warned against 'getting too close' to Miss Anabelle, who is, it seems, the Captains woman. If the Captian needs warn his woman to stay away from men like me, then I am the least of his worries and he should look, instead, to the woman. There's a boy aboard as well, I heard him called Cain, which seemed to fit. if he had a brother I think he would have used his little knife on him. He crept up on Nicholas and Jamie, though they caught him quickly and put him flat on the floor. She called him a 'monkey'. I think 'Imp' might be better from what i've seen. Speaking of looks....Sione. I don't know what to think of it. She gives me looks I'd forgotten that a woman would give a man sometimes, then just as fast stops again. Is it me she's taken with, if she's taken at all, or is she taken with the fist I planted on the man who chased her? Am I becoming my father? Do I see the world in terms of where one might cut to understand it better?
