Hey, I found this while searching for pics of Trowa... it's listed on the Amazon.com page for the GW box set as coming from the IMDB.com site. It's bits of GW trivia!

http://www.amazon.com/Mobile-Suit-Gundam-Wing-Operations/dp/fun-facts/B0001BMMG8

Does anyone have any corroboration for this? I'd like to see this alternate ending and the easter egg with the "Mega-particles" Maybe I'll watch more closely the next time I go through the series. ^_^

Quote:
* In episode 8, "The Treize Assassination", when Heero is disarming the bombs, the panel he is accessing says "Intel Outside".
* Many of the characters are named after numerals, particularly French numbers. Lady "Une" = One "Duo" Maxwell = Two (Deux) "Trowa" Barton = Three (Trois) "Quatre" Raberba Winner = Four General "Septem" = Seven (Sept) "Treize" Khushrenada = Thirteen "Quinze" Barton = Fifteen "Milliardo" Peacecraft = Billion (Milliard)
* An alternate ending was animated in which Relena reads Heero's letter before calling out to him and tearing it up; screencaps of it can be found floating around the Net.
* Several references to the Universal Century were hidden in Gundam Wing as "Easter eggs". In one scene, Wing's monitor reads "Charging M-Particles" (a reference to the mega-particles that make up the beam rifle blasts in the Universal Century). Later, when Quatre looks over Sandrock's blueprints, the Gundam is said to possess a Movable Flame (sic), Gundarium Theta, and ALICE Mk-II (a reference to the photonovel Gundam Sentinel).
* The name OZ stands for "Organization of Zodiac"; this is further evidence by the naming scheme of their weapons: Leo, Aries, Cancer, Pisces, Taurus, Virgo and Libra. The ground-use Tragos stands in for Capricorn ("tragos" is Greek for goat). Subsequent manga stories introduce the Gundam Geminass (Gemini), Hydra and Scorpio, and the G-Generation series of video games introduced the Gundam Aquarius.
* In the original draft, episodes 27 and 28 would have been flashbacks, revealing important moments from the Gundam pilots' and Relena's pasts. Unfortunately, scheudling conflicts arose which lead to head writer Katsuyuki Sumisawa quitting the series. The episodes were turned into recap episodes, and the backstories were archived in the manga Episode Zero.
* Scott McNeil thought of the time his wife accidentally ran over his motorcycle to get himself in the proper frame of mind for Duo's infamous scream in episode 20.
* When Sally Po is viewing the data on Heero, the information being displayed is actually instructions for installing TWAIN devices into Adobe Photoshop.

Well, the "alternate ending" thing is bunk...I know, because I wrote that entry during a period where I hadn't seen the show for a long time. When I rewatched it recently, I noticed that Relena did indeed read the note. What it says, however, is still a matter of contention.

I can verify everything else except the anecdote about Scott McNeil and his yelling. I know he's a motorcycle enthusiast, so I can see it happening. XD

Actually, there's a video on YouTube with him talking about that story when someone asks him about it during a convention. He tells the story in his usual flair and then falls to his knees giving the scream.

EDIT:
I found it.

Hard to tell if he's talking about his wife running over his motorcycle or what, but he's talking about some sort of vehicle accident he was involved in and the other person involved was a woman.

A new driver backed over his motorcycle... And Sailor, didn't I send you that clip? O.o...?

You might have... or maybe the other one where there was just a bunch of fans yelling at him to do the scream but not pass out. There's two. He only tells the story in the one, though. Either you sent it to me, or I sent it to you. sweatdrop I don't remember.

Relena does tear up the note but I am not sure if she calls out to him.

I think she says something along the lines of "Next time give it to me in person." and rips up the letter while smiling knowing that Heero is walking away from the plane.

She calls out to get his attention, THEN rips up the note and tells him to give it to her in person. He nods before turning and walking off

Gah, that's a terrific scene.

Relena makes Heero grow by tearing the letter. Directly, she places whatever will happen between them next in his hands. If Heero has anything to say to Relena, he going to be forced say it to her face. People think that she did this in a selfish manner, so she could see him again. I don't think that's the case. Sure, she would like to see Heero, but at her newfound maturity level, I think she's given up in assuming anything about him. She wants him to come back to her if it's truely what he desires. Relena is making him have the strength and independence he once gave to her.

Love, love, love them. 3nodding

Who couldn't adore that couple? I really wonder what their children would look like... Another moment I enjoyed was that "almost kiss" in Episode 48. The "Believe in me" scene...

It's true his wife just got her license and backed up over his motorcycle. It is on youtube but I can't pull it up right off the bat. It was funny to listen to him explain it and then perform the scream again.

If you go to 13:11, that's when he starts his story.

After watching him on youtube, it makes me want to go to a con and see him panel. Wish I could meet him. whee

I remember when Scott McNeil came to Sakura-Con a few years back. He was hilarious!
