I am 100% against the idea.
The fourth died using the same jutsu the third did when fighting Orochimaru, there's no way he could have survived it.
That's what I think any way :3

There's no way. He couldn't have possibly survived the jutsu he used to seal the fox demon.

Just for the sake of irony, I think he is, or at least an evil clone or twin or something.

SirBaka Just for the sake of irony, I think he is, or at least an evil clone or twin or something. Oh goodness, you've got me started. {Warning: lots of spoilers ahead.}
What makes me think, is that jutsu that Orochimaru used against The Third in their battle at the Chuunin Finals Arena. It seems to show some type of foreshadowing when Sarutobi managed to stop the third coffin from rising up, which, if following sequence, would have held the Fourth Hokage.
Personally, I would suspect that even if the third coffin would have successfully opened up, there would either be just a corpse there... or nothing at all. The evidence for this comes from the very fact that the Fourth sacrificed his life/soul to the jutsu to seal the Kyuubi. Therefore, there shouldn't be a soul to summon to the sacrifice that was used to summon the coffins in the first place. Another theory might be that the Fourth survived in some strange out-of-the-box way and that the soul is still inside the body.
Further more, the only reason why everyone thinks that the Akatsuki Leader might be the Fourth Hokage is because he demonstrated a weird technique that transforms him into a spinning yellow ball and pummels everything in its wake.
And that's it... Heheh... okay, I'll stop. sweatdrop

doubt it.
it's possible, but... i doubt it.
also i believe the obitobi theory and if both were true, then that would be just way too many plot insanities.
that would make things start getting pretty cliche. i hope the writer's not that stupid.
one or the other, and i say obitobi ;D
akatsuki, btw.

akatsuki, btw. I don't mean to change the subject... but I don't think Tobi is Obito...
I actually think Tobi is based off of a Japanese mythology character...
You see, I played a game called Okami... and it actually has the character Tobi in it towards the end of the game. In the game, Tobi is an extremely polite soul that's sealed into a paper and guards the inside of a castle. And since the game is based straight from Japanese mythology and has Tobi in it, I'm just going to assume that that's where the Naruto version Tobi came from...
It's hard to explain unless you've actually played the game.

yeah, i know it's not too likely... exactly for what you said... but i still would love to see him end up fighting kakashi somehow. and watch the rest of the scene. the possibilities for angst are endless... as for hilarity... xD

It definitely would be an awesome battle, and it's still a possibility since I'm pretty sure Obito wasn't based off of any Japanese mythological legends that I know...
