She'd never left their packlands in her life. Dainty white paws made their way through the grasses as the wild dog sniffed about, ears flicking. She'd never left and now she was able to roam, a wanderlust that took her late, as the one before took her mother early.

Unlike her mother, it wasn't brought by fear and plague, and the white and brown caning continued on, looking around. Finally she found a spot by a pool of water, and lay down, resting some before she would move on.

Ranks had never really been offically assigned to Kisho or his siblings. However, he seemed to take upon himself the role of a scout lately. He wanted to keep his pack safe and always knowing who was around and in the area would help to avoid conflicts. Going into the pridelands, though, was a little trickier then his normal routes. For this was a place of lions, not simply other wild dogs.

He trailed along the watering hole, his crimson gaze moving over the landscape and its inhabitands in a calculating fashion. He paused briefly as something caught his eye. Another wild dog, female by the looks of it. Was there a rival pack in the area? He feared not for his pack, for logically they had a great number of members, but peaceful solutions were always best. Conflict was pointless. So he began to approuch her, ready to question her to see if there was anything he need adress.

Kasida was delightfully relaxed in the cool of the area when the flash of something white and black caught her eye, and she glanced towards it. Kasida wasn't one who was afraid of lions, as her mother was, but it wouldn't do to be mistaken for a snack. She got up, watching attentively to discern what it was for a few minutes before her ears swivelled forward. It didn't smell like a lion! And they were often around. So, Kasida decided to investigate, and padded towards the white thing curiously.

"Hello, there!"

Kisho simply gave a nod as a greeting, which was more then he normally did. But he got straight to the point-he was never one to mince words. At least, not with strangers. He didn't waste his time on them, and he wouldn't now. "Are you part of a pack in the area?" He questioned, his eyes a strong, skeptical red that clashed against the white and black tones of his fur. He didn't even bother to offer his name. It was irrelavent in this conversation.

He was an odd one. Kasida tilted hr head curiously, suprished at the sharpness of the question, then nodded.

"Yes. My pack is over by the watering hole. Why do you ask?"

Kasida sat down, absolutely not understanding.

Mm...this could cause a problem if the two backs ever met unknowingly. This was valuable information, of which he'd have ot pass onto his superiors quickly. But first he would see what else he could find out. Any reasonable person could solve a problem without violence and he always aimed to do so. He did not answer her question, for if this pack was the violent sort he would not give it information on his family's where-abouts. Instead he asked her another question, "How many of you are there?"

Okay, if he wanted to avoid giving HER information, then she could play.

"I dunno, why do you wanna know?"

She didn't make a move, but she did keep her eyes on him. She didn't know if he was a friend or not, and seeing a stranger so interested in the pack made her nervious.

"It is nothing to be concerned about, I am simply gathering information," He stated firmly. Why couldn't she just answer his questions? He hated wasting more time then he needed. Conversing with strangers was never something he enjoyed, for he honestly didn't care about those that weren't his family. There was no logical reason to. Hence the term "strangers". It gave no obligation to him nor them and that was how he prefered it.

Kasida frowned slightly, settling back a bit as she squared her shoulders.

"There's enough of us that we don't want fo food."

And that was a fairly good answer, right? She still was on edge, but determined to find out what the sytranger wanted, tail switching. Momma would be so proud.

Mmm...that was probably around six, very likely no less then three and no more then 8. That of course was, assuming there wasn't a large number of pups. Either way, it definately was not a number to rival his pack. Well, he had to admit, this female wasn't a complete idoit like some he had met. Scratch that, all he had met so far. But he was far from impressed. "I see," he murmured, a very simple and unresponsive comment, "Are you peaceful?" That was a rather blunt one, to be sure.

"Most of us." Kasida remained alert, fur on end. What was he getting at? If it came to it, she would warn the others if she believed in a threat.

Kisho nodded. Good. Then this situation had a very low percentage of being a problem. He'd tell his pack members anyway, but he foresaw no problems. And that was without using his seer powers. Who needed them, when you simply followed reasonable courses of action? He said nothing more to her, turning on his paws to head back. He had got what he wanted. There was no reason to continue the "conversation".

Kasida scowled slightly.

"Don't turn your--HEY!"

Well, this couldn't be good. The canine frowned, then stepped back, sitting, thern raiswed her head, and howled as loud as she could.

This guy might be trouble.

Kisho turned a sharp gaze on her and within moments he had darted quietly to her side, pushing her smoothly with sharp skill. His calm remained, though a frown was planted on his maw. Never mind what he had thought before, she was just as bad as those idoits before. "Do you wish to cause a pointless scene? I thought you had a scrap of intellect in that brain of yours, though I suppose I was wrong," he said, his voice chilled and icey like his gaze. Here he was, doing his best to make it so that if their packs ever met things could go smoothly and they could resolve any issues peacefully and she was sounding an alarm like he was attacking her. What nonsense.

Kasida scowled at him, standing up.

"We want no conflict, but when one behaves aggressively, one must expect that one will not be welcomed well. You ask so much of my pack and offer none of your own, as if you plan to invade us." And Kasida turned, tail swishing calmly as she began to pad back to her pack. Mother and Father would be worried, after all, and being alert was a good thing.
