The house in this story isn’t exactly in a neighborhood, it’s more on the outskirts of a city. A forgotten old building on a hill outside of a city. Something that got passed over some reason. But the rumors still stand.
Many say that a family was murdered in the house and their sprits still haunt the place. Others say that a WWII soldier was gunned down and his restless, duty driven spirit is attached to the place. Also, reports say that the bodies of people who have gone missing for only a few days have been found, though their bodies look as if they had aged nearly eighty years.
These stories are both true and untrue, somebody did die, there is a spirit, but he isn’t attached to anything, and there are bodies. But, like all stories that sound more than a little farfetched, nobody believes them. Yet, all those who are dared to venture into the house, never come back out. The explanation for that is that they all meant to scare their friends ans left town for a while...none of this is true.
Allow me to bring you to present day, well, about a week ago to be exact, to a party that was going no where fast. To kill time, a few teenagers were discussing the rumor for lack of anything better to do. When some of them piped up and said it was all a bunch of lies, they were dared to spend as long as they could in the house, just to see how much they could take before they either died or came home screaming. It was a harmless dare, and they all accepted it to prove how stupid the whole thing was.
A week later, they arrived at the house, a few of them secretly doubting what they were about to do, others openly crying, but they went in the old, rickety house. The inside was completely different from the outside; where the outside was rotten and unstable, the inside was beautifully decorated and looked perfectly preserved. It looked as though time had not touched it since the early 1800s.
Though there was electricity, it was nothing more than the lights. But the strangest thing about the decorations was all the mirrors set up in the oddest places. Other than that, everything seemed perfectly normal.
After an hour of looking around, they found that the house was not vacant, but a young man in his early twenties owned the house. His mannerisms were a bit old fashioned and he was incredibly hospitable, but, like the house, he seemed normal enough.
After one night, three of the teenagers went missing,. When asked about it, the young man merely replied that they had left. Since it was the ones who openly cried, the others thought this to be true. Shortly after that, the ones who looked in the mirrors placed in the house the most, they actually seemed to age a year or two, making them wonder if the rumors about the aged bodies were true.
There is certainly something about the house that is not normal, but those still in the house may not live long enough to see what it is. They’ve slowly learned one thing though...don’t look in the mirrors.
The dare is not the only thing keeping them from leaving the house. The old house is wavering on the thin line that separates the living world from the spirit world. should the young man choose to drop the barrier holding them all in, he may end up having to save their lives instead of taking them.

Name: Malkior Richmond
Age: appears 24, but his true age is unknown
Gender: Male
Personality: Kind, caring, very gentleman-like and mysterious, but there is something about him that you can’t trust
Background: He’s the young man who owns the house, not much can be said about him...nobody knows him, really. He keeps to himself a lot, and doesn’t talk about his past. The most he’ll tell you is that he was raised to be a gentleman to everyone he meets and that he’s lived in this house all his life...however long that may be.
He claims that the mirrors are a technique he’s learned to make his already large house look bigger, he also says it’s fun to make those who decide to peak in look back at themselves instead of all of the things he has. But, that’s not his true reason, the mirrors act as a transferring device to move the life force of those who look into them from the viewer to him.
In truth, he died in the early 1800s and relies on the life force of visitors to keep his body and spirit in this world. That’s where the aged bodies came from. But, these teens seemed to have changed his wanting to do so, he wants to stay alive for the one who has grown close to him, but he doesn’t want to hurt her by killing her and her friends...though, by killing her, he’d be able to keep her with him for as long as people are stupid enough to except the dare...and since there are plenty of those people, it seems like a very good plan to him either way.
