Ryoshi wakes up by the sound of footsteps. He reachs over and grabs his bokken. He rolls over and stands up getting ready for the approching thing.

Gabriel stared with eyes wide at the vast canyon. The stone walls seemed to go up forever into the sky. "Wow...Amazing..." Even after his fairly extended time spent on Soul Society, this canyon absolutely stupefied him. While it was certainly an amazing marvel of nature, being so isolated from anything else living made Gabriel feel uncomfortable. What if he were attacked by a Hollow down here? He was sure that he was absolutely alone right now, and even a fairly weak Hollow might be out of his hands considering that he hadn't had much training since his induction into the academy. Gabriel's grip on his Zanpakutou's hilt tightened. "Tch...freakin creepy down here..."

Hey. Is that you Gabriel."ryoshi yelled. He waled into the clearing and leaped down. His bokken was still at the ready.

Gabriel jumped slightly, feeling a little jittery from the canyon's odd ambiance. "Yeah, it's me." He called back, rubbing the back of his head nervously. "Seems you're not the only one who enjoys exploring Soul Society..." Noticing his weapon at ready, Gabriel smirked, as if getting his message. "I think I catch your drift...." He unsheathed his Zanpakutou, and shouldered it. "You wanna go?!" The smirk shifted into a cocky grin.

"YOU ASKED FOR IT!" His battle roar echoed throughout the canyon. Gabriel pushed off the ground into a surprisingly high leap and landed squarely in front of Ryoshi. Now perched perfectly on the branch with the same cocky smirk from before, he made a vicious horizontal slash aimed at Ryoshi's chest, with full intent to cut him.

"What's the matter?!" Gabriel cried out, feeling his weapon rake across Ryoshi's chest. "If that's all you've got to offer me, then I should be heading into class right now!" He leapt off the tree's branch, and landed on the hard earth. Glancing down at his blade with displeasure, he wiped it off on a small tuft of dead grass. "Come on, I'm not done yet, and neither are you."

"Baka, you look like you're about to collapse!" Gabriel carefully eyed his attacker, and anticipated it perfectly, sidestepping the attempted strike in a whirling motion and bringing his blade back around for another attack.
