Cadentau's coutenance was as stormy as the overcast sky as he strode angrily through the pouring rain towards the nearest building. He was already soaked and his foul mood only increased when he realized that the closest shelter was one of the places he disliked most: the bookstore. But right now, anything was better than being at home! Trying to wring the water out of his shirt and earning cautious glares from the store staff members, the lionboy headed towards the clearance and 2nd hand section near the back, where there would at least be a comfortable chair waiting for him.

Allowances just didn't cover the nice new hardbacks. Particularly if one insisted on being alone for a shopping expidition without the deeper wallet a parent represented (not that Tara was stupid enough to leave Aysel unsupervised. But what the luna moth didn't know, couldn't hurt her).
Thus the luna moth was hovering through the cheap section of the old bookstore. It was one of the kinds that was rapidly dissapearing, meant more for settling in with a good book and friends than actually buying. Aysel stared thoughtfully at the young readers section, looking for something different and distracting. She had started the Babysitter Club series, but ever since Korin arrived she hadn't really felt like going back to them. Reaching up to the shelves she pulled a book at random.
Curious she read the title aloud, "A Wrinkle in Time?" It sounded interesting enough.. The girl headed towards the chairs. She'd read a bit and see if it actually was. There was a very comphy couch in the back corner.

Having gotten his shirt about as dry as it was going to get without taking it off, Caden attempted to dry his hair. The mane-like fluff was soft enough and thick enough that even when wet, it stuck out a little instead of being plastered to his head, and thank god for that! He'd look rediculous with short hair. However, he was still trailing water all over the floor and still getting glared at by custodial staff. As he neared the reading area at the back of the store, Caden shook his head rapidly, flinging water over everything, and everyone in the vicinity.

"EEK!" There were tiny water droplets being flung everywhere! Holding the book in front of her as a shield, Aysel cringed back from the nasty stuff. Though the luna moth was only afraid of large bodies of water, she still didn't like it in any form. Not even as a drink.
When the short indoor rain storm stopped, the luna moth peeked out from behind her book. Not too far away was what should have been a fluffy boy. Unfortunately he was soaked all the way through. "Be careful," she scolded, "You got me all wet and you might'f gotten the books wet. They make you pay if you damage them," she added.

He abruptly stopped shaking the water out of his hair when he heard a short shreik. There was a girl with green skin holding a book that was spattered with water droplets. He shrugged non-chalantly as she told him off for getting water everywhere he got enough 'advice' at home already. Not that Mom made a point of obediance, but she did make it awefully not-worth-it to disobey most of the time. Somehow the thought amused him greatly, and he flicked his still-dripping tail at the girl with a leery grin.
"Why?" he countered playfully "Most of them in this section already have water-stains anyway."

With another high pitched noise Aysel jumped back from the flicking tail. Icky water. Just as she was feeling sympathy for the other kid too. "Not all of 'em," she replied crankily.
Stomping over to the big fluffy couch, she tried to ignore Cadentu, even though he had one of the cool tails that could move. Sinking into the couch the luna moth wiped the book she had choosen clean on the couch. Stupid stupid boy, getting her and the book all wet.
Determined to try and ignore him, she flipped open the cover of the book.

Caden wasn't one to be easily ignored. So she was in a bit of a tiff. Never stopped him before! He'd gotten the hint that she didn't like water easily enough, but there were still many more ways to get under her skin, so to speak. Undeterred, he sidled over to the couch and sat down next to her, peering over her shoulder at the book.
"Wot'cha readin'?"

The walking moving cacoon, shifted away from Caden. "It's called A Wrinkle in Time." She flipped another page, not really reading the words. Aysel tried to focus on the words, though they didn't really sink in. With a bored sigh, she closed the cover again.
"Boring..." Well, maybe it wouldn't have been boring if that boy would stop bugging her. Thoughtfully, she stared at the shelves.

"Eh.." the lion shrugged "I dun like readin' much." Undeterred by Aysel's scooting away from him, Caden spread his arms out over the back of the couch and made himself comfortable. "So wotcher name anyways?" he purred "Mine's Caden."

"Aysel," the girl responded thoughtlessly. The luna moth had been fairly blind to Caden's attempts to 'flirt' with her, and just gave him an odd look as he streached his arms out and settled into the couch. Getting up, Aysel moved to the bookcase she had been at before, replacing A Wrinkle in Time even though she had barely read a word in it. With a frustrated sigh she turned to Caden, placing all four hands on her hips.
"Do you know anything good to read?" she asked.

"Not really." Caden shrugged. "I'm just in here because of the weather. It's not just raining cats and dogs, it's raining cougars and wolves." The angry scowl he was wearing when he first burst through the door of the small bookshop returned and his ears flattened as he remembered just why he had stormed out into the rain in the first place. It was all Nick's fault! And now he was wet and somewhat cold and stuck in a place full of books and other educational material. The lion leaned back and stared at the ceiling for a moment. His expression quirked into leery grin as he enjoyed the feeling of depressurized vertebrae in his neck. Or maybe it wasn't so bad after all. Aysel was here at least.

Aysel stuck her tounge out at the news of the rain. "I hope Mom will pick me up," she muttered to herself. Turning back to the bookshelf she frowned, before a title caught her eye. Volume 10 of the Babysitters Club. For a moment she glanced at Caden out of the corner of her eye. Perhaps..? Hmm.. Quickly she flicked her gaze back to the books, wincing as he cracked his neck. Crack. Crack... The cacoon shivered. Gross.

"Eh? Where's your Mom if she's not here with you." he inquired, completely missing Aysel's expression of repulsion..if one could use a verb as eloquent as 'inquired' to describe the rougish young lion. "Yer not here alo~ne are you?" he leered. He meant it to be wicked and threatening - in a cool way of course - but his hair had just begun to dry out and fluff again. In some places it was a reddish tan and rather staticky, but in other places, it was still matted together and darkened by water, making him look rather comical instead.

Aysel arched an eyebrow at Caden, taking in the half matted fur. "Yeah. All alo~ne." The luna moth repeated him, though neither kid really pulled it off. This flirting stuff was fun. The girl tried to bat her eyelashes, both arms behind her back. Though it probably looked more like she just had something in her eye.

"Well, I'll just have to stick around and keep ya company then." Caden purred, scooting closer to her. Not like he had anywhere to go until the rain stopped anyway. Okay.. so she was responding. Now what? Having begun on a whim, Caden really hadn't thought this far.
