You'll have to forgive the Morrissey reference in the title, he's singing in my ear at the moment. But it brings the topic up well..
Songs that saved your life, what does that mean? Songs that ment so much to you that you had to stop and wonder, songs that you connected with on deeper levels.
What are your songs that saved your life? What songs do you listen to that you connect with incredibly and why?

I guess I'll start with what I'm listening to at the moment...
Nada Surf - Inside Of Love This song is amazing, soft and wonderous, it's amazing in it's own right. To me it's amazing because I've had the experience of hearing it live, twice, and been in the front row in front of Matt each time. It's a moving song, literally. He gets everyone to dance to it, a very simple swaying two step. I happen to have a wonderful recording of the song from the night I first heard it live, which was at a free concert (invite only) that ironicly fell on my birthday. I will never forget that night and I'm grateful to the gentleman I was standing next to, Ryan, for recording the song. Even more grateful to Matt for letting Ryan record it, for without him, the bouncers would have taken the tape.
Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile As I was just beginning to understand that I was bisexual, I fell in love with this song. Something that made me feel safe when I was suddenly realizing that no, not everyone was intrested in both boys and girls in the same way. Even in Key West, learning you are intrested in someone of the same sex can be difficult.
Tool - Forty six & 2 Another song that speaks to me on another level. I have a history of mental illness, a variety of things that add up to a person who should probably be on medication but can't afford her doctors and meds anymore. I've learned slowly to deal with my problems and while it may be a confusing process to others, it makes sense to me.
I have more songs, but this is a good start for now.

Sounds like an interesting topic to me - after all music is there for me most of the time.
So the first song shouldn't be too much of a surprise: John Miles - Music Just listen to it once, let the lyrics flow into your mind, go with the interesting rhytm changes, and you'll understand.
Clawfinger - Catch Me This is a bit hard to understand, most propably - because it's about someone jumping into death. And even if the line "I feel more alive dead than when I was alive" sounds a bit awkward it is this line that gives me most strength when listening to the song.
Die Fantastischen Vier - Krieger It is a German language song from a German HipHop/Rap band, written and performed by their best man, Thomas D. You can say that he's preaching with his lyrics, and it was more or less the first song that made me aware of this special ability in him. He had a whole solo album with a band under the project name "Son Goku" where the lyrics are great throughout the whole album.

Supertramp's Logical Whenever I find that life is going really hard I like to listen to this song, it makes me think of people wearing masks, and how society punishes those who try to be themselves just because they're different. It just makes me look at everything again.

I'm Alive, by Disturbed.
When ever I'm feeling low or when I'm on the brink of giving up, just laying down and dying (both literally and figuratively), I put that song on and every time without fail it hardens my resolve. It makes me want to stick it out, not give up no matter how much society (and even myself at times) might beat me down. It strikes a chord in me far deeper than anything else I've come across. The best that I can describe it is that it seems like it's a reflection of myself.
