The large white lion was exhausted, just recently taking down a young, yet highly injured Wildebeest for his evening meal. Though he hadn't eaten all day, that would soon change, as he slowly ripped into the beast, taking his fill.
He was not paying any attention to anything around him, though, which was something that he learned, but didn't want to take care of. He was more interested in eating his meal then worrying about stupid vultures or lonely scavengers.
A noise, one that was loud enough to stop him from his meal, made him bring his head up, his braid swaying with the ripples of the movement as his grey eyes peeks around. He didn't look too closely, though, and dipped his head back down, but didn't take another bite.
"I wonder what that was..."

The light brown rogue had been tracking the wildebeest herd for a while. Whenever he moved in to attack, they had stampeded, forcing the exhausted male to fall behind and wait for them to settle down again. It was recently that he found himself beat. A white male with a large lavender mane had dove into the herd, plucking young wildebeest for a meal. He had watched from the brush and now was forced to watch in dismay as the male enjoyed the meal.

Zahi popped his head back up again, the desire to double check eating as his brain. He scanned the area around him more closely, but still couldn't quite tell if anyone else was out there.
He didn't want to seem foolish, and call out, so instead he scooped his head back down to the carcass, gingerly picking at the meat now, with his eyes up on the savannah. He was sure that someone was out there, but he had to see them first, before doing anything.

The rogue looked from the white lion before him to the herd beginning to vanish in the distance. He could chase the herd. He would probably have a better chance of taking one down. They were probably injured or at least worn out enough by now. But it would possibly take all of Moyenda's energy to simply catch up to the herd. Another option was to wander off and essentially hope for best. He could fight for the meal but that would be certain death as Moyenda lacked the necessary fighting skills and the attitude. His last option was to show himself and hope for the best as the lion seemed to notice that he was near.
Moyenda left his hiding place, amusing himself by comparing the kill to the spoils of war. The enjoyment was bitter but he took it nonetheless. And he was especially careful not to seem threatening or foolish as he walked in the lion's direction.

Zahi's eyes widened as he saw the sudden movement. His head jerked up, his form tight as he saw the form of a fellow lion approaching him. Though he had eaten most of his fill by now, he was still wary on the other approaching his meal.
"Well, so there was a hidden visitor," he grumbled, not too pleased, but much more content that it was a male then a female. He had no trust in females, and would rather deal with another male anyday, whether it be a safe or dangerous meeting. "Lucky me," he stated, finishing his thought with another small jab. "Seems you're interested in my meal now, eh?"
He licked his maw, cleaning up a bit of the blood that clung to his fur, the urge for him to pick his teeth being pushed away to seem a little more polite then gluttoneous and rude.

Moyenda's stomache tightened as the lion pointed out Mo's want for the meal. He didn't know what the safe response would be. With a mental smack, Mo put himself back on track.
"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested," he replied. "But I can do without."
The male didn't look too friendly and Mo began to regret revealing himself. There were some things that when avoidable are best to be averted and he was beginning to doubt his ability to identify such meetings. It wouldn't be the first time he had made a mistake and was beginning to realize the connection between this and the previous one. Both involved a meal. He wished silently that this wouldn't be as disasterous as the last had almost been.

Zahi'jyotsna eyed the male, intrigued by his blunt honesty. Well, that wasn't what he was expecting, but it was something to acknowledge. With a gruff, Zahi stretched next to his kill before taking a step over towards this new stranger of his.
"Well, being honest gives you points. Take what's left, if you want." He flicked his tail, to perhaps emphasis what he said. "I had my fill, and I'd rather it go to another male then those damn buzzards. Or even worse, the 'yenas."
He gave a threatening glare at the sky, though had hadn't seen a vulture....yet. He knew that they would come soon, and once there was enough of them, they'd get overrun by the damn things and abandon the carcass. But for now, they were safe, and the hungry fellow could take his time in eating.

Mo was a bit shocked - not that he being shocked by any sort of kindness was anything new- when the lion offered him a share of the remains. As he came closer, he remained aware, waiting for any attack on the lion's part that might come, a lion who might have simply invited Mo over under false pretenses. He sat before the kill and looked back to the lion to make sure he hadn't changed his mind before helping himself to a couple bites.
However, after those couple bites, Moyenda began to feel ackward about it and sat up. Licking his lips and then clearing his throat, he turned to the lion. "Thank you very much for the meal, but I feel kind of bad for taking from you without even knowing your name. I'm Moyenda," he said, inviting the male to respond.

Zahi plopped himself on his haunches, resting as he began to clean up what blood he could from his paws and face. He still has a rusty-tint to his colour, but in due time it would fade away.
He was startled back into reality when the other began speaking to him. He didn't catch everything, but he did catch a name. Without missing a beat, he slipped his own name into the conversation, along with a wave of a paw. "It's Zahi'jyotsna, but Zahi works just fine, thanks. And no worries on the meal, I'm full as it is."
He soon stopped grooming, deeming himself fit enough to look okay. Though he was certainly all male, his old habits of how he was raised still snuck in to what he was doing, whether he realized it or not. "Besides, I'm sure you would rather have some then I just selfishly letting it rot."

With reassurance from the lion, Zahi, Moyenda continued making fine work on the rest of the carcass. It was quite nice to get something in his stomache for a chance. He hadn't eaten in the longest time. However he made sure he paced himself. It would be rude to eat at a fast pace in front of someone else, especially someone who had gave him the food. He knew if he did so, it could make him look skiddish or just simply reveal the weakling that he was.
As the familar signals of fullness reached his brain, he looked up at the other lion and noted the lion's cleanliness, making Moyenda feel shabby in comparison. He tried to clean his face while the other lion looked away and then sat down next to the other lion.

Zahi dozed as he watched the other lion eat, his stomache content and full. He rarely went hungry, and so not often had to go without a content stomache. He didn't mind sharing, though, and felt a little joy in letting the male take a piece of his meal. He was unaware with how hungry the other lion was, though, for Moyenda politely ate as if he had just eaten the day before.
As the other lion sat next to him, Zahi's mind tried to grasp at something to say. Ask about the weather? Such a boring topic. But he didn't know what to say, so just say what just happened?
"Feel better with a meal, eh?" He grunted out, his own stomache feeling a bit stretched as he spoke. It was good, though.

"Yes, which I have you to thank for," he said pleasantly.
Then, the ackward silence. It was his turn to carry the conversation. Would he let every meeting he had end up like this? He definitely hoped not. The only areas he could think of currently as topic ideas were risky in that they could be taken negatively. There could be something the other lion wouldn't want to share, which would lead to prying which was dangerous. But for the sake of conversation, he could try.
"So what brings you so far out into the roguelands? You seem like the kind of guy who'd be the leader of some pride or another.
"...You don't have to tell me if you don't want to," he quickly added.

Zahi didn't much like the silence that followed, but he wasn't sure himself of what to bring up. He was raised well, but conversation was never taught, and he still had to learn from it. And quickly, if he wanted in anywhere.
His ears perked up at the mention of 'lead'. Well, that was new. He laughed, though something more of a hearty laugh, to not let the other male feel bad. "No, no. I've lived as a rogue for most of my life, after leaving....family." He hated the conditions as to why he 'left,' but it was part of his life. He wanted to get over it, but couldn't, and thus didn't trust females as far as he could throw them.
"Though living in a pride is much easier then doing everything yourself, I'd assume." His right ear flicked as he thought about it. Hmm. That could be an idea.
He turned his attention back to his companion, so he could talk about himself. Who didn't like to talk about themselves? The thing they would know the most about was definately how they felt! "You in some sort of same predicament, hm? No pride?"

His eyes widened at the first signs of the lion's laughter but he calmed when it was in no way threatening. The muscle was definitely a result from living as a rogue for so long. Mo only hoped that he would one day accomplish that, feeling incompetant. It wasn't an abnormal feeling. He experienced it almost every time he ran into another lion. Luckily, there still seemed to be many herds about despite the high population of predators, minimizing competition a bit.
"Pride? I did ...once. Nothing special though. I want to say I've been a rogue for much of my life, which sometimes seems like a long time..." Mo trailed off into his memories of his past. "...yea... nothing special."
He looked up and squinted at a bird flying overhead, wrinkling his muzzle.

Zahi's interest was drawn into the idea of this fellow leaving a pride. That was interesting....but if he had been a rogue for most of his life, then perhaps it was his parents that made him leave, besides his own choice. Though it would be nice to find out, he didn't really want to pry too much. He didn't really want a lot of his own past pryed into, either.
"Seems special to me, since I've never experienced it," he stated calmly, just passing on a point. "Though you would never return, would you? You seem content with where you are, even if it means going hungry once in a while." He chuckled at the fact, though he himself rarely went hungry. Helped when you were raised by a small band of lioness'.
