I'm a bit new at this, seeing as I just got my first doll delivered just a few hours ago (took a week to ship-not bad, but UPS is definately getting pricy for ground shipping). It's a volks 27m with the eyehole head, and I've already figured out how to get the eyes in without rolling around. Unfortunately, I got the idea in my head that rooting it myself would be the best route to go, and now I've got the needly about 1mm into the head, and it won't budge. I'm afraid if I push hard on it, I'll get through and manage to send the needle right through my hand. I've searched the forums and the web and can't find a tutorial ( other than: noix tutorial ). Does anyone know a good way to either soften the head to make it a bit less resistant to the rooting needle, or am I going about this all wrong?

If you've haven't figured it out, those heads are not designed for rooting. You'll have to use a wig.
The eye-less (painted eye) heads are the soft vinyl style meant for rooting.
