Knotted feet of ancient tree splintered though the oozing stonewalls, all manor of gruesome creatures residing within the nooks and holes the roots provided. Sheltered under sprawling white nets of web, brown furry forms, with tender bodes pulsing with what vile life they possessed, barely visible under their milky nests.

Pressed against the back wall, where not roots dared to stretch to close, a motionless body, plasters into the stone with a humanoid figure. Smooth round, rotting features, wide mouth gaping open barely handing onto what tendons remained, its arms drawn back behind it, embedded into the dripping wall.
Its thin Skeletal Chest, jutting out uncomfortably, with hollow black eyes, which seemed to follow the progress of all motion with in his domain

The only light, provided by glowing worms, who took there home in the layer of dirt and moss on the Ceiling and walls.
Adding a haunting glimmer to the moist roots.
And causing the bleached white skulls, lined along one of the roots that had dares to wander to close to the fear gods’ decaying idol.
Three large skulls, looking as if they belonged to adult Malu, and three extremely small Skulls, owned by either rodent…. Or… infant Malu.

Tucked away in the lower levels of the Temple. Only those who are Curious, Lost, or very brave, dare to wander into the Shine of the God of Fear.

Petite nostrils flared at the stench the eminated from the walls and seeped into the floor below. A dark ripple of disgust trickled down her spine, causing her glowing fur to rise. Bianca's bright green eyes took a glance from corner to corner, displease with their inability to see everything clearly.

"Hello?" she called, her tone of voice remaining casual and unconcerned. It wasn't often that she discovered a hidden room in the temple that other Malu were knowledgeable. Her guess was that no one knew about this place either.

She took a step forward, dainty paws sinking into the soft decor of mud. Her muzzle wrinkled at the distasteful combination of clean paws and sludge. Nevertheless, she moved forward, intrigued by the growing stench that seemed to originate near a forest of twisted branches and tree roots. She leaned in slightly and sniffed.

"UGH," she shuddered, feeling sick. "That is the most disgusting thing I have ever smelled in my life." Bianca closed her eyes and instantly thought of roses... but nothing came. Her mind remained blank. Bright eyes opened wide and she stood there, motionless. Her newfound goddess... gone? Tring her best to remain calm, the monochrome Malu took a step backward, deciding that now was the time to leave.

somewhere, a presence, a large, living presence quivered with excitement upon feeling the young Malu's fear.
ohhh how long had it been since she had been able to truly frighten someone?
far to long.
Remaining in solitude, under the safety and guidance of her God, but he started for Fear, he Starved for mental distress, going so far as to take it from his own worshiper in desperation for power.
but now... now she had had a fresh source for him... and perhaps... this was an opening to a new, and bold step toward serving her god... for there were bound to be more Malu above in the upper temple levels.

hidden in the dark of the shrine, the glow warms provided just enough light to form a shadow that streaked infront of the young Maluess, something soft, barely brushing agains the tips of her whiskers.
and dim light, not reflecting off of only two adult skulls now.

Bianca stepped back further, her heart pounding in her ears. Death, she thought to herself, though a word was never uttered from her lips. She quickly shook the fear from her skin and took a chance to glance around. Where there was death, there was life... whether it was a trace of a source, or actually the creature itself.

"Hello?" she questioned the darkness, her voice steady and controlled. It wasn't the darkness that intimidated her... it was something else... something she couldn't quite name.

for a long moment, there was a painful silence, not even the dripping of the walls dared to make a noise, quivering as they built up.

there was a sudden Rush of wind, almost painful to naked eyes, causing any normal being to close them in defense.
a Skull face, with something gleaming hauntingly in its sockets at they gazed, gaping with black into the green eyes on the young white Malu.
"Hello!" the skull spoke, voice hard, and raspy. greeting the Maluess in a not so welcome tone.

The young female jumped from surprise, staring at the skull before her with wide eyes. The rest of the room was pitch black... the face seemed to be a weightless entity that existed with no body whatsoever. Just... an eye-less face.

Bianca peered closer, green eye squinting... trying her best to reach through the shadows with her sight. Her god temporarily granted her wish, allowing her to see the outline of a female Malu who seemed to be as dark as darkness itself.

"I've never seen you before," Bianca told her, not an ounce of question in her voice. So -that- was what had been itching at her these past few moments...

The obsidian color returned to its natural state and Bianca was once again... left in the dark. She continued to stare forward, however, determined to disallow the Malu from escaping whatever sight she did posess.

the only way one would be able to tell that she was narrowing her eyes was the slow narrowing of the white skull above her eye sockets, slanting inward, in a dangerous appearance. how insulting, she could feel the child's fear slipping away.
trying to ignore the impatient screams of her God in her head, scolding her for her incompetence.
"Obviously not" she replied, lowering her head to shoulder level, and hunching slightly as she walked around the young Malu.
"what bring you here?" she asked, looking all over this young Malu

Bianca eyed the Malu suspiciously, disliking the idea of being an object of study. Obviously this creature disapproved of her being here...

"I often explore the temple," she answered, still holding her neutrality. Emerald eyes met hollow ones and the younger Malu shivered. Were there any eyes in that pale skull of hers? Bianca shook away the thought suddenly at the idea of wide, gaping holes encroaching upon her.

"What about you? Do you often hide in this darkness?"

Beetle's equally black tongue slid out of her mouth and glided over her lips when she noticed the young white Malu shiver, something most Malu might not pick up on, but as a worshiper of Fear, any small hint of fear was picked up by her got and praised for.
"I live in the darkness" she replied once her tongue had slithered back into her mouth
"It is others in the darkness that must hide. even the cannibals"

Cannibals? Bianca thought to herself, lips peeling back in a silent snarl. She wondered if this creature was what she spoke of... a demon of the darkness that fed on the flesh of her kin. Her muscles twitched as she contemplated running into the light. She second-guessed herself and remained still. Running would only make this... thing... want to catch her.

"Living in the darkness seems lonely," she mentioned, her voice dulled and void of expression. Although this situation unnerved her, Bianca had a deeper appreciation for the beauty in life. Anything else either got on her nerves or was vastly uninteresting.

"ooh hardly" Beetle's smooth haunting voice cooed. suddenly slipping completely out of sight into the darkness of her shrine,
the silence that followed only gave was to small shuffling feet... not four feet, but what seemed like six, ten, even a hundred feet starting to scamper around the room very quickly, completely out of sight,
out of no were something large, with matted fuzzy fur suddenly brushed past Bianca as it scuffled past.

The young malu lifted her paws in a slight jump and moved quickly to one side, away from the furry form that had brushed against her. Her spine tingled with anticipation and disgust, but something told her not to be afraid. Amadeus had taught her that those with good hearts would prevail, for that was the duty of justice. Bianca knew herself and took comfort in the fact that she was pure of heart. Her teachings brought her closer to peace every second as she kept silent.

Finally, she took a moment to speak. "Whatever you're doing... stop," she demanding, growing impatient with the creature's tactics. It was more irritating than frightening, but either way... it wasn't something Bianca wanted to endure.

The silence continued for another moment after Bianca spoke. a tension filled the room as Beetle's own stress suddenly flaring, magnified though her own god.
with a sudden shriek of rage, the dark skeletal Malu launched out from the darkness of the her shrine, suddenly consuming all of Bianca's vision. her claw raising up, and striking down at the small Malu's haunch.
"STOP!? STOP!? you are in my domain now creature! what NERVE have you!"
PostPosted: Wed Sep 17, 2008 11:42 pm

Bianca swung around and sunk her teeth into the female's paw, jaw locking as she hung on with all her strength. Blood ran down her body, mixing with the creature's. The young maluess snarled and released the paw, taking a few steps back almost immediately. Bloodied saliva dripped from her maw, mixing in with the dusty earth at her paws. "Ugh," she grumbled, taking backward steps toward the entrance to the darkened cave.

"I have the nerve of any other living creature," she stated plainly. "I did not mean to invade your territory. If you want me to leave... I will."
