Okay, so I have a desire to create an RP. However, with little record of what's been done before and an even lesser idea of what people usually want to RP around here, I pose a simple conjecture.
What kind of RP should I make? Anything anyone wants? Ideas for an original RP that might be fun? Naruto maybe? Bleach? Final Fantasy?

These are tips people use... or at least, I do.
- Think of a time period that intrests you. What happened during that period? - Think of conflicts that were/ are common in that period. - Think of ways to spice that conflict up. - If you want a fantasy, use magic, if a romance, create couples.
There are more, but they escape me at the moment.

Ah, creating an RP is no problem. I've created and participated in hundreds. I want to find out what my fellow guildspeople want in an RP. Thanks for trying anyway. =D

What's an RP? Do you mean an RPG, or is it something else? eek

Wow... if somebody doesn't know what RP stands for it makes me wonder... oh well. The perfect RP doesn't have organization. It doesn't have routine, and definately does NOT have god-modding illiterate slums who couldn't RP with a retarded child. As for genres... not sure. That's for you, and the body of the characters to decide. Anything already existing will only create more disputes, i.e. Neji's Byakugan is all cool and stuff but others may disagree. Try to make it original, but not to where only you can invision the scenery. Every fantastic RP has a fantastic author. If you aren't the best writer, but a good writer, you may want to have someone else write for you... perfection is your goal!

Rah. Helping the Movement!! Or something.
I have to say, polling for hints might be a bad idea. I understand the want to create something people will enjoy and participate in, but it might end badly if it's not properly founded.
Writing an RP is like writing a regular story: it has to be something you like. If your heart's not 100% behind it, it'll show. So, I say just start something up and hope for the best.
But that's just me. So, yeah. Good luck!

I like fantasy with lots of plot twists to keep it interesting.

I believe a good idea for an RP would be to not use one theme, but several. For example, use Bleach and Naruto in the same RP. It's just a thought. It's an idea I used for a manga I wrote, so I think it would be a hit.

My friend tried that kind of RP, with multiple genres... we got into an argument because he didn't stop god-modding.

If you're looking to make one up of your own, then here's what I do: pick a movie or story you like and think about how you maybe could do it differently. What twists, turns, and surprises could you put in there? Recently my friend Emi-dono and I created a roleplay called Otherealm. It's basically like the movie Jumanji, but it's fantasy-based instead of jungle-based. Although, sadly, while I thought the idea was a fine one, the roleplay isn't doing well at all. Oh well, live and learn - experiment and such.
