So last night the choir finally got our new 12 foot "Steinway" D concert grand piano that we have been paying for for like 3 and a half years (it's an 80,000 dollar piano even after the school discount and turning in our two other 7 foot "Samick" grands, and we're kinda underfunded)
It sounds so delicious. The resonance is absolutely fantastic. Our pianist looked like he was having a spiritual moment after he stopped playing today because our director asked him to give us a little demo before we got to work today. It seriously like gives you chills it sounds so good.

I love the new Steinway. It kinda makes you feel super unworthy though.

My choir has a Clavinova. It's wonderful for recording things, but nothing can compare to the beautiful sound that a real piano, especially a grand, can make. You are so lucky!

Yeah, we have a few very important soloist and ensemble recordings soon, and it will be nice to know if we're doing this we're doing it the best we possibly can.

You guys are so lucky. Our school barely even tunes our piano. Worst sounding thing on the fave of the planet.

Our school just got a brand new Kawai. The piano teacher/accompanist is seriously a**l about even breathing on it wrong sweatdrop But it's a beautiful piano with gorgeous sound...
I can't even begin to imagine what the new Steinway sounds like! It's probably god-like. You're incredibly lucky!!

I wonder if my director would let me record the steinway.... it wouldn't be quite the same though you can seriously feel the resonance in the air *shivers*
