The girl took a moment to notice , slowly she took off her headphone.

"I'm new to the quadrant, so would you mind giving me an idea of what kinds of operations are run through this hangar?"

The girl take a look at the young man that in front of her eyeing him carefully.

" So you're the new guy huh.. well , let me fill you in.. we are in the business of taking care of other people's mess. and we are free to take on whatever contract that have come for us."

She flicks her small portable laptop. Typing something before she takes a look once more at the young man.

" Okay , I have spare Leo that I 'borrowed' from the UDF.. they are going to scrap that anyway.. it is a bit clunky but don't complain at least I am not sending you without an MS.. "

her eye shift back to her console once more.. as she types another and was a bit busy for about 5 minutes. She load the data to one of the datapad that she got stacked next to her laptop.

She slip out the electronic datapad via the small opening in the window next to her.

Inside the datapad there is some info on the stat for the Leo that she have generously lend to the merc.

The girl then type something on her laptop computer making the necessary arrangement for weapons and ammo for the young merc.

The data pad flickers up as the data being downloaded to the datapad.

Firing mode : Semi burst ( 3 ammo each time the trigger is pulled ),Full burst (20 ammo each time the trigger is pulled )

Damage : Depends on type of ammo.
Mod : There are modification available for this type of weapon.

1. Magazine extension. each upgrade cost 50.000 solar. Max 3 upgrades
The weapon could have an extra ammo up to 300 ammo. each mod add an extra 100.
2. Coolant and bullet control. cost 75.000 solar.
The weapon have been tweaked so that it won't ever jam and the coolant makes the weapon barrel able to withstand the constant rapid firing.


Ammo types :

1. Normal rounds: Price 1000 solar for 100 rounds
Standard normal rounds which every factions could purchase it with ease. The Rounds depleted enemy armor points first before damaging the target's body points. Against a gundanium armored target it this type of round is virtually useless.

2. Armor Piercing: Price 10.000 solar for 100 rounds
This type of ammo ignore the armor value of the target and went straight to the target body points. And even it threaten the life of the pilot. Againts agundanium armored opponents this type of ammo can damage the target but the armored opponent's armor is reduced first.

A top of the line computer that is superb due to the advanced high quality processor with advanced cooling systems to help the processor cool down with an extra high speed tetrabit hardisks that is able to take much more advanced software.

4. ECM Pod. Price : 30.000 solar
An essential tool in combat where the enemy is known to use plenty of automated guns or missiles.

5. Cloak System. Price : 300.000 solars
A device that refracts the lights as it bends the light rendering the MS invisible to normal sight. But Other optical detection device might still detect this. While cloaking is still in progress you can't attack at anyone unless you decloak first.

6. Portable Radar. Price 150.000
A device that is used to detect the enemy in the battlefield at much longer range.With this portable radar one could detect enemy at longer range, detect ambush and detects anomalies due to the cloaking device.

1. Standard OS software : Price 1000 solar.
Your basic OS for your computer , just enough to get you up and running.
takes up 1 slot of software space.

2. medium OS software : Price 10.000 solar
a slightly better OS that enables the computer to perform a bit more efficient and better at handling the MS and thus granting the MS a bonus of 1 action points.Takes up 2 slot of software space.

3. high OS software : Price 100.000 solar
An advanced algorithm and advanced programming that enables the MS to move much better then the previous version of the OS would allow it. Adding the MS a bonus of 2 action points.Takes up 3 slot of software space.

4. Hacker tools software : Price 10.000 solar
An essential tool for anyone that wished to disrupt enemy computers.
Takes up 1 software slot.

5. Targeting software : Price 2500 solar.
Help improve your aim accuracy. Takes up 1 software slot.



" For the moment those are the stuff we got.. as merchandise is rather hard to come by these days.. and also there is 3 free contracts that is available right now... let see.. "

Objective : Destroy any hostile MS in the area.
Pay : 100.000 solar.
Down payment : 10.000 solar
salvage : 30 percent of the junks recovered in the battle field.
bonus : Free repair fee and free ammo.

Mission : Rescue
Objective : Find the shuttle that crashed , hold off the hostile MS or other faction that attempted to recover the shuttle till SAR arrives and evacuate the personnel.
Pay : 150.000 solar
Down payment : 15.000 solar
Salvage : 30 percent of the junks recovered in the battle field.
Bonus : Short Beam riffle.

3. Contractor : ???
Mission : Assault
Objective : Quick hit and run , destroy anyone that have confirm ID of your MS en route to target and after hitting the target. Time is of the essence.
Pay : 300.000 solar
Down payment : 30.000 solar
Salvage : N/A
Bonus : 10.000 solar


" Remember choose only one okay.. "

"I'd like to purchase a mark 2 computer for the Leo as well. Might as well start making it battle ready."

The girl lightly shift her eyes and type on her small laptop.

Her hand moved toward a small microphone as she pulled it next to her

" Hey ! , I want a Mark 2 computer installed on the Leo on bay 3 there.. make it snappy ! "

She looks through the bulletproof glass as she saw that a few of the mechanic is slacking off and just playing poker.

" Hey , get off your lazy sorry rear end and get to work "

The girl screamed but they just ignore her.

" Grrr.. "

The girl then type something on her laptop as the 10 mm vulcan minigun slowly moves..

A slight buzzing noise , sounds of various spent shells hitting the ground as the high rotating minigun fire off it's round near the group of lazy mechanics.. not hitting any of them.

" Now Get to work !! " The girl screams through her microphone as she watches the lazy crew running toward bay 3.

The girl remember what the young man said to her.

"People been giving you trouble or something?"

"I would figure that you wouldn't need such a big gun...just a hand gun would do fine too.'

The gun is for this such occasion..

but the girl didn't comment or say anything to the young man as she kept her thought to herself.

"Looks like there always giving you trouble huh?"

"Yep."

The girl answer shortly retuns to her typing. Then she remember something.

" You know you haven't bought any software yet for your MS.. or else how it is going to run ? "

The girl thought of reminding the person before he chooses one of the contract that she have given her.

without the software OS the MS will be severely crippled , they can't move much and most of the electronic systems will be off line such as radio and stuff

" would also like to purchase standard software for that Leo too." The girl type something on her notebook as the data is downloaded to the computer on stock before she have it attached to the respected MS.

can't believe that he just want to get to the battlefield without one.. shakes her head thinking about what is like to move in an MS without the help of the computer via the software.

"It'll be kinda hard to fight without that. Also add a targeting computer to that. That will come in handy in the fights to come."

Giggles as she hears his comment and speak through the microphone.

" Whoa there relax cowboy ! the onboard computer already primed to do just that.. all you need is the standard software or better software to help you target.."

Looking at the crew that is busy preparing the MS on bay three as she got another camera overlooking that hangar bay.And most recently some person delivered the computer that have been installed with the normal operating system software.Standard weapon have been put on the side as the crew working on attaching the weapon to the arm.Slightly checking the actuators for the arms , legs, and most importantly checking out the life support systems and the ejection seat.Making sure that the system is fully safe for the new pilot.Slowly the MS is being booted up.. the sleeping Leo slowly comes back to life.. the crew tries to move its arms and legs to see if there is something to worry about.. it appear that the left leg is a bit twitchy.

" Okay , turn it off now.. we just need to replace the left leg actuator with the new ones.. " one of the crew comment as they radioed in via their portable walkie talkie to have the storehouse delivered a nice fresh left leg actuator parts. The crew then began to work on it.

" It will be about another 15 more minutes.. " as the crew yelled.

Firstly they removed the battered green moss armor then slowly unscrew the bolts for the protective inner casing plates.With the help of the high performance winch they slowly put it aside.Slowly the crew starts to remove the old battered left leg actuator as it was shot all to hell.The metals looks like it couldn't hold too much stress as some part shows rusts.They felt glad that they noticed it before sending the ms into the battlefield an MS with a cripple leg is surely will leave a painful memory to the pilot who rode it.

The girl then makes notes of the purchases and put it on the bill for the pilot.She then notice that he haven't choose any contract for his first mission.

" So , cowboy ? which mission that you're going to take eh ? " She chews her gums some more.

"Thats probably going to end up on my tab. So, I'll undertake the one from the UDF."

The girl giggles as she hears it " Don't worry you don't have to pay a dime for the repairs as the damage is done due to our end.. and there is 2 contracts that belongs to the UDF.. so which one is it ? no 1 or no 2 contract.. please take a look again at your data pad.. "

The girl then takes a good look again at her notebook and began typing her reports and stuff.

The crew remained busy as they tried out the MS one more time.. the crew worked in a rapid pace as they got the MS up and running testing to walk a bit around the hangar bay. " Yup.. all good now.. , this baby can even ballet dance for all I care.. " the crew was happy that the MS is now at a satisfactory performance condition.

The MS then slowly being headed toward the loading bay as it got the weapon in hand and ready to be transported to the large transport shuttle.

"OK, I'll take the rescue contract from the UDF. I still want that targeting computer put in though. I don't want to use any more ammunition than i have to to take down a target."

The girl typed in and arranged so.. then he transfer the down payment to the merc's account minus all the spendings that he made so far.

" I am sorry but we don't have that targeting computer.. most of them are too big to load up to an MS .. all we have is targeting computer for heavy warships.. as it doesn't fit MS.. beside that is why we have you ridding the MS instead of powering up Mobile dolls.. "

The girl shakes her head one more time.. as the crew prepares the long range cargo shuttle to transport the MS to the designated area.

" Oh yeah and you will be in constant radio communication with me.. so inform me of anything that is going on in there okay. "

The Crew then finish loading up the MS into the shuttle dropship.

" Yoo.. better hurry up to the ship will ya.. we're not going to wait forever.. " as one of the crew yelled through the hangar toward the young merc.
