The soft glow of headlights raced across the far wall of the lab, fading into blackness. There were a few moments where the muffled sound of a voice and awkward shufflings and slammings pressed themselves through the cracks of windows, then the lab doors were sliding open with a gust of cold and a few flakes of snow.

Chloe paused just in the doorway, weighed down by no less than four suitcases or bags of some sort, one beneath each arm and in each hand. She looked behind her expectantly. "Roux.." Her voice was soft and coaxing.

The icy Raeven floated in slowly, looking around the familiar place with distaste, his expression sleepy and annoyed. He hadn't minded staying cooped up here while Chloe was at work but that was because there'd been another place to go to afterwards.

Now things would be otherwise and he wasn't the most excited about it... but he was tired still, it felt like he'd only just woken up from that blissful dream and he wanted to go back so badly..

"Dr. Kyou..?" Chloe had set the bags down, stepping further into the lab and calling out softly.

She'd never gotten to see much of Lazarus before. She was entranced by the flicker and waver of the flame he held in his palm before it was snuffed out, snapping her out of the small trance she seemed to have been in. She was about to protest waking Dr. Kyou up but he was already gliding away.

"O-Oh! Right. Right." She turned quickly to lock the gate behind her, struggling with it slightly.


Roux had been equally entranced, he'd -never- seen this Raeven before. He gave a small breath as the Fire Raeven held in his hand the only thing that could keep him at bay. His eyes flicked up along the deep tan of the other's skin, tracing back down along the curve of his wings, shoulders, to his fingertips.

"Who.." But he was gone and the pale Frei could only float and watch the way that the other had left.

His wings gave a restless flicker, a single feather sliding out from the others and spiraling to the ground where it rested.

Chloe followed Lazarus as they went further back, picking up the bags and struggling forward with them. It wasn't much.. in fact it was all they had left. Everything else had to be sold just so that they could pay off the fees charged for all the water damage caused.


Roux blinked as the Raeven spoke to him, head tilting lightly to the side as he responded. "Uh hello there." His lips parted slightly, eyes half closed as he floated just outside of Lazarus' reach. "Hot." He motioned toward the other Frei.

Maybe it was because of his icey nature... but it felt like waves of heat were rolling off of the other Frei, it was pleasent as well as vaugly uncomfortable. He wanted to reach out and touch but something was keeping him from doing it..

She struggled past the door, letting her bags down very gently as she sensed someone was in the room already. She followed Lazarus with her gaze, giving a small start as she noticed Dr. Kyou laying asleep on a couch. For a moment she gave a small start, heart skipping a beat as he gave a tiny groan.

She shook her head, giving a small smile. This must be why all the girls seemed to like Dr. Kyou so much... He was handsome she had to admit, but she just couldn't view him in that way.. at least not longer than a second or two. He was a mentor, he was someone to be looked up to and respected and to learn from.


Roux floated closer to Lazarus, continuously drawn toward him.. like a moth to the flames. Just as the fire Frei had a higher body temperature, the ice Frei had a lower one. It was deeply interesting to Roux to feel such a difference between them. Carefully he reached out, letting his hand pass through that space where high heat met low cold, flexing his fingers.

He gave a soft, noncommunitive sound in the back of his throat as he brushed a fingertip over the skeletal bone of a wing. "Hot.." He murmured the word again, letting his hand trace down to touch the back of Lazarus' hand with an icy cool fingertip. "Like, yes."


Chloe reached down softly, placing her hand lightly on Dr. Kyou's shoulder and giving a gentle shake. "D-Dr. Kyou... wake up.."

Roux jerked his hand back as well, taken aback by Lazarus' sudden motion. His wings flared slightly, a few feathers falling from the delicate seeming wings and fluttering to the ground behind the Ice Frei seemingly unnoticed. He calmed as Lazarus apologized, licking his lips softly as he watched the other moving with keen interest. Something about him..

He reached out slowly, feeling the hot and cold between them pushing at each other as he drew closer - like the oposing poles of two magnets that someone was trying to push together. Lightly his fingertips met the fingertips of Lazarus and Roux gave a small hiss at the amount of heat in such a small point of contact.

Slowly he slid his fingers through Lazarus', until they were clasping their hands together. It was a bizzare sensation, he felt as though his hand were burning and yet... yet it wasn't that painful at all. Cold blue eyes flickered up to meet firey red ones. "Power.."


Chloe sat back, oblivious to the interaction of the two Raeven behind her as she looked down at Kyou. "It's.." She went to check her watch but realized she didn't have it anymore. "Ah.. it's night."

Roux held his free hand up to his chest, eyes half closing. Now this.. this was someone to.. respect. "Roux." He took great pride in saying his name, a soft, faint lilt of an accent made the word seem even more exotic.


Chloe smiled and leaned back so Kyou could have room to sit up. She shook her head. "N-No, it's alright. You have so much work you do.. a-and.. y-you're being kind enough to let us come stay here. A-Any place will be appreciated.."
