How do you know if someone is your soul mate? Do you just intuitively know or what?

I believe that it would be intuitively... though I have not yet met my soul mate, so this is mere speculation.

I believe that I have met my soulmate. You'll connect with that person on a higher level than other people you know. It's almost as if you share a brain sometimes. You can talk about absolutely anything with that person without fear of your secrets being told. You have complete trust in them and you would do anything for them. It's so much fun to be around them: you feel at peace but yet extremely energized around them. You just know once you've met them.

Metaphorical Nonsense you couldn't have put it in a better way! It was like listening to myself talking. And, ofcourse, lets just state that a soulmate doesn't always have to be someone with whom we are romantically involved or interested. Most of the times our friends are our soulmates, precious people that, lots of times, seems to appear out of nowhere, in the most random of ways...

Yeah, I first met my soulmate, Nicholas last year on the bus. I didn't really like him that much at first, but then I got to know him a lot better this year during French class. Then we started going out...There's just nobody that I feel that close to other than him...*sigh* He's so amazing! xD

I'm not entirely sure if I've met her or not, but this girl and I feel a strong attraction to each other. I feel like it's more than simple love, but neither one of us know exactly what it is. We just know we feel like we should be together.

My friend and I...well, we've been friends for years. I've always felt close to her, and one year when we were both in college we spent almost all of our time at my apartment. I've always felt connected to her and we've always been able to have long discussions about everything, and we always know what the other is feeling. And now we're together and I am happier than ever. She's in another state right now, unfortunately, but we get to see each other next weekend.

You just know.. A soul mate isn't someone you love. I love a lot of people in my life, family and friends, but they are not all soul mates. A soul mate is beyond love, beyond anything that comes close to love. It's the feeling that you are the same person.. Complete trust and hope.. I'm not sure if it is possible to have more than one.. I have one. Perhaps you can have more but sometimes I feel like that would almost be too much to feel..
I always feel connected to him. I always feel a longing, a pull from my chest to him. Like our energies want to be together. My soul mate is my best friend. We aren't dating and I don't feel romantically towards him, it's truthfully beyond that. It's just pure. I have problems in romantic relationships because I don't feel connected to my partner like I am to him. I don't think I ever will find someone else like him.
Hmm.. I think you just know.

yeah id have to agree, u just know when u see or meet them, im lucky i have two >.<(ones my mate the other is my friend). i have always thought that everyone has someone outhere who is their other half, i has crossd my thoughts that maby a person has more than just one. A soul mate is some one who u click with instently, some one who u find ur self thinking about everyday and not wanting anymore then to just be by thier side 3nodding

I have, since I posted, realized that I do have a soul mate whom I know. I just hadn't realized it. I had known that our souls were connected, yet examaining my feelings twoards him, I've realized how strong our bond is. He's been in the same relationship since before I've met him, and I have no sense of jealousy there. It is not as if I has a sense of eros twoards him. I can spill my heart out to him, telling him things that no other soul on this earth knows about me, without fear.
I am in love with him, completely and fully. Not a crush sort of love, but just a sense of happieness that the universe could produce a soul like his.
However, I sometimes wonder about him. We had some similar memories of past lives, and when I'm around him, I feel like I'm around myself in a different body. Sometimes I wonder if he is merely another incarnation of my own soul.
Wether he is or not, I adore him...
