I was surfin on Ebay for Loli dresses and acessories when I stumbled on a really cute sweet loli dress and wasn't too expsensive. I showed my mother and father. Their responses were: Me: "Isn't it cute?!!" Mother: "it's really cute" Father: "NO. You can get it when you stop growing" Mother: *agrees with father* Me: gonk
I just turned 14 on Feb. 25. Should I listen to my father or do what my Nee-san said to do (order the outift longer)
Edit: I'm not sure about the growth in my family cuz I'm Korean. but my mom is currently 5'...I donno about my dad. about 5'7"??? and my shoe size is 4 1/2 but i wear a 5.

I think getting a size lerger would be a good idea. You could always get it taylored if you don't grow. It's much easier to modify something to be smaller than to make it bigger.

That's just mean ;_;
I'm thirteen as well, but clothes tend to fit me for a very long time.
If you don't grow quickly, you could say that, perhaps.
And if that still doesn't work, I would get the dress just a teensy bit bigger than it needs to be.

When you stop growing? Jeez. I don't think a person really stops growing until they're about mid-20s, 30s. It's just that you're going pretty quickly through most of puberty. That's why you buy clothes a size [or two] bigger. If needed, you just take it in a bit, and later, let out the stitches once you're grown more.

Do they say you can't buy jeans or t-shirts cause you'll grow out of them; my guess is no.
Just say it's like any other clothes you buy (and that it's your money, if it is), and when you grow out of it, just resell it on Ebay!

I wanted to grow a little taller crying but if you really want it I vote for getting it in a larger size.

I don't know anything about ebay lolita sellers, except that most of the brand knockoffs there are poor quality (only fan+friend makes nice quality knockoffs, I've heard).. but most brand lolita clothes are "one size fits most", meaning their size is adjustable. The straps might be adjustable, the back can be made smaller with ties, and a lot of dresses have shirring. Lolita is actually far more friendly to a person still growing than mainstream fashion, which usually does not have any adjustability whatsoever.

i know this sounds sill but you could talk to your doctor (ask your doctor about proscription lolita sweatdrop ) and ask the other women in yourr family when they stopped growing. I only grew about 2 cm after i was eleven so you never know

I think it's not fair for you. Women usually stop growing when they are around 18 years old; however I would recommend you to buy it a little bit larger so you have the chance to wear it even if you grow a little bit taller.
How tall are you now?

Yeah, I agree with everyone.
Mostly along the subject of getting a longer one...So in the event of a growth spurt your underwear won't show when you bend over.

A female stops growing 2 years after starting her menstrual cycle (her menstrual cycle that actually occurs every month, not the every other month some young females get). (Males continue to grow until they're 21, so we're already fully grown before becoming legal while they're still growing until they can drink.) This where you get the age of 18 for females since many females don't start until they're 16 (although looking at ages today, they start at about 10 to 12). I stopped growing when I was almost 13. Yeah, I've been 5'3" for a long time and haven't grown a milimeter. P:
So, if it's been two years since, you're all good. As for weight and bust, that will continue to change. Hoped that cleared up some things. :]

hmm... I stopped growing at 5'2"...yea... xD
But, to be safe as many people said before me, get it a size bigger. If you do that you can get it tailored ^^

Well, jeans and T-shirts cost a lot less than any loli dress I've ever seen on Ebay, and I've bought a couple. I mean, your parents just don't want you to make a stupid investment in a really pretty dres you won't be able to wear six or seven years from now-- in my family, the philosophy is: If you want to spend money on it, you should be able to wear it for years. I still have T-shirts I've had from when I was 11(16 now.)

I'm 13 and 5" 6 ;;___;; i sure hope I've stopped growing D; Although I'm quite thin nothing seems to fit me lengthwise. T3T" Although I've had to buy a lot of new pants and skirts, i'm sure that you won't be able to grow so much that the dress will be EXTREMELY short, but in which case, you can sell on the egl livejournal community again 8D
