Fleur let out a tiny squeak of joy as Chrysler placed another book onto the ever growing pile beside him. He had been ordered to stay sitting in the poofy chair he was now bouncing a little in, and he did not mind at all. The bookstore was fairly empty save for himself and Chrysler, not that he noticed. The mere thought of learning how to read better and getting new books to help the process was enough to make him squeak again. He had lost count of how many Chrysler had already piled beside him - some were simple coloring books simply because he loved the bright colors of crayons, but a lot were brand new books with actual words for him to read and learn along with pretty, colorful pictures.

Fleur could not resist and grabbed one from the top of the pile to flip through it. A lot of it was still beyond him, but he could still admire the pictures until he went home and Stevie began tutoring him again.

Del wandered through the book store searching for the things on her list. There were comics, hard cover books and several paperback novels that her father had suggested she read. There were also a few books on the list for Echo who didn't share her choice in literature and who read at a different speed.

As she pulled a book on castle history off a shelf she spotted something in her peripheral vision. Was that? it was, Fluer the boy responsible for her recent interest in castles. It wasn't an obsession to be sure but lately she'd be wondering about how many different types of castles there were and what they all looked like.

Though he seemed engrossed in a book she felt the need to call out to him.

Echo eyed the black and white child with trepidation, unlike his dolphin companion he actually did have a sense of smell and the perfume the boy wore was somewhat nauseating. Still he wasn't about to deny Del the right to have friends and he knew she'd get uncomfortable if he stayed back. Hopefully when talking with this one she didn't call him fat again.

"Buu..?" Fleur flipped his ears and looked up to see who had called him. It did not sound like Chrysler, so he was clueless until he spotted a very familiar tail not too far away, its appearance burned firmly in his memory. Upon remembering whose tail that was, Fleur beamed and waved to Del, putting his book back onto the pile beside him. He had met several other children from D-Corp recently, but it was nice to meet her again, remembering how much fun making the sand castle had been.

Del took the wave as a sign to come closer which she did. " Hey there looks like you've grown a bit since I last saw you." Of course Del had also grown since there last meeting and she also had Echo now. The golden coloured bronze dragon was certainly her favorite part of being older. " She nodded to echo who was following behind her " This is my partner Echo, he's a bronze dragon but he's gold right now because he's just young."

"Ooh," Fleur crooned, blinking with intrigue at Echo. "They said mine will be a silver one...but I think its egg looks more like a giant ball berring." He was still more or less shocked that he was getting a dragon of his very own in the first place - as far as he was concerned, there was nothing special enough about him to warrant it.

Fleur tore his attention from Echo and looked back up to Del before asking, twitching his tail, "Are you here to get some books too?"

Del nodded " Yes I'm getting some comics and a couple books each for me and Echo if I can find the ones on my list." The girl nodded to the piece of paper in her hand. " Which sorts of books are you looking for?"

Echo had puffed out his chest a bit at the attention, he might not bear his kinds proper colouring yet but there was no problem with his current looks. Despite what Del may have said to that fluff ball a few weeks ago he was not fat either.

Fleur eyed the pile of books next to him which, by now, was taller than he. "Lots of different kinds," he answered. "I'm learning to read better, so Chry's getting some for me to try to read by myself and some for Bah to read to me." Fleur perked up and beamed. "And a few on knitting!" He had no idea that was unusual, but he had developed an intense fascination with knitting, and he had a project he was working on which was currently at home - a sweater for his dragon when it hatched since it was still winter.

Fleur blinked when he registered Del's other statement, surprised. "Dragons can read?" he asked Echo, both surprised and intrigued. "Maybe I should get some for mine too though I don't know when he's going to hatch...or she."

Del nodded it made sense that Fleur was still just learning to read, it probably wouldn't take him long to learn though considering how many books he was picking up for practice. She was a little confused as to why he wanted books on knitting but to each their own and all that.

Echo too young to respond in English to the boys question just nodded. He could read, not so well as Del ( though she seemed not to notice his slower pace) but he could read and he perferred to read different things than her. They were well matched but they did have different interest.

Del gave Fleur a small smile " I'd say wait till they hatch to get them a book Because who knows what they will like. "

"Oh...good point," Fleur wilted a little. He thought it might be nice to have something to give his dragon straight out of the egg, but Del had a good point that it was best to see what the dragon was interested in. Fleur supposed the sweater would have to do though it looked more like a tube sock right now than a sweater.

"Oh," Fleur spoke again, thinking of something. "In a lot of these books, it says dragons like jewelry and other shiny things - is that true?" If so, he knew Stevie would not mind letting him give a necklace or bracelet to his dragon - she had a lot she never wore and already told him he could have anything he wanted just like the perfume bottle.

Del nodded " All dragons are different but they all like to hoard shiny things. even Echo likes shiny stuff so I share some of my things with him. Eventually You'll get to know you're dragon and it'll be easier to help pick things for their hoarde but it's hard to go wrong with shiny stones or minerals."

To this Echo nodded agreeing immensely, there was no such thing as a bad shiny object, except perhaps tinfoil when it connected with teeth.

Fleur squeaked and clapped his hands together happily. He knew just the thing in that case. "Bah has a green necklace she said I could have if I wanted," he stated, his tail twitching excitedly. "I can give that to my dragon then!" He blinked and looked over when yet another book was added to the pile. "...isn't that enough?"

"Shaddap," Chrysler grumbled with a lash of her tail. "I don't want to have to come back here again in a week." With that, she left to continue finding more books.

Fleur blushed a little and shook his head, looking back up at Del. "Sorry about that. She can be a little...snappy."

Del was silent as she watched the exchange , when the woman left she just shook her head. " She seems a bit mean I'm hope you're being taken care of ok." Del would hate to see a friend abused.

Shifting the heavy castle history book she smiled a bit " I have a book on castle history here. I think it might be a bit beyond you for the moment but i can tell you what it's like for later.. that is if you maybe want to live in a castle someday.

"Oh, no, she's not mean," Fleur reassured Del with a smile. "She's just cranky a lot of the time." He beamed with a squeak. "And she's so cool - she can breathe fire!" He still loved that about her. It was always a blast to watch.

Fleur perked up and started waving his tail up and down excitedly when Del mentioned living in a castle. "Yeah!" he chirped in response. "I still think living in a castle would be neat, especially one of those big ones with the moat and drawbridge. Bah said she'd get me some alligators to go in it!" He knew she was most likely teasing, but it was till a fun thought.

" Wow lucky " Del said in awe " Echo's gonna have bad breathe that scares stuff away one day"

At those words Echo glared at his partner and huffed, one day when he was older he'd make her take back all her taunts and jibes. Loving retribution.

Tapping her tail on the floor to only a tune she could hear Del smiled " Would you like to maybe help me design a castle one day?" Del wanted to get to know this other child better but she needed to head home soon.

Fleur lit up at the prospect, his tail fluffing as it waved up and down. "I'd love to!" he replied. "I was thinking of designing clothes too - though I need to get better at knitting before I do." He blushed a little, remembering that pitiful sweater he was working on.
