Ah, characters. Characters are the most fundamental part of any RPG. After all, nothing happens if nobody's doing anything! Unless they're a Nobody, then I guess... you know what I mean.
Unless otherwise stated by guild crew, players may portray only those characters which they have designed. Players can have up to three (3) of these characters at once and they start at a default level of 1 with no experience points.
When creating a new character, you must make a new topic in the Character Creation subforum. Guild crew must approve your character before they may take part in-game.
If you like, you can ask members for input on your characters' development in the thread. When doing this, write "wait," "not ready," or some other short notice in the topic's title so the mods know. If you feel you've gotten all the suggestions you want or the character is fine the way he/she is, place "ready" or such in the title.
Doing so notifies the guild crew of who is ready for inspection, so to speak. When a character is approved, a crew member will post notification of the approval in the thread and add "Approved" to the topic title. If they have reason to reject your character, they will provide their reasoning so you may update the character and try again later if you wish.
When creating characters, make four posts in the character's thread right off the bat. The first post contains their personal information, the second is for their statistic records, the third is for munny and item records, and the fourth is to record the character's magic and abilities.
Characters must at least be human-esque, though strict human is not necessary. If you have questions about portraying more extreme creatures such as nobodies, inquire with the guild crew.
Personal Character Details
Character sheets go in the very first post of a new character topic. It contains the most important information on this character and is what moderators will be reading when deciding on approval, so update this post as necessary!
Character sheets include a lot of information. Now, the list isn't painfully long, but there is a lot here. You need to be clear in all areas.
First of all, you must include the names of any other characters you are currently playing. This way we know you aren't trying to cheat the 3-character limit.
Next is the basic stuff. Name and sex are fairly self-explanatory, but name should also include any aliases and depending on species a character may not have a sex or gender.
If a character’s appearance belies they’re age, put that under age.
Dexterity is actually right-handedness. Here is where you should list their dominant hand. Keep in mind that about half of human beings are right-handed, while lefties and the ambidextrous are not so common. (if you really can’t decide whether they’re a righty, lefty, or both, a good idea is to just go with your own) This actually has subtle but interesting influences on gameplay; for example, a left can’t sign their name well if their left arm is broken and hand-eye coordination is better on one side.
Personality is a given. This is where you include the traits and quirks of your character, including defects. Behavioral and psychological aspects should be described.
A short biography is also important. You need to give background of your character and explain how the became the way they are and give a better sense of the character through experience. Things like their origins and home, upbringing, any occupations, and important events in their life.
You must also describe your character’s physical appearance. This includes build, hair and eye color, skin tone, and the general trends in their clothing (shorts, glasses, jewelry, color, etc.). Images may also be provided, but are optional. The written description is required so those who cannot see or provide images still know who they’re looking at. (avoid using reference pictures immediately recognized as stolen and provide credit to your sources)
Skills are also something of note. Tell us what the character is good or bad at. This could be as big as superpowers or as small as sticking one’s fist in their mouth. These can come in really handy when picking up jobs or building charisma and relationships.
Naturally, you want to list any important possessions. Things like weapons, tools, heirlooms, and other such resources are an important part of your character and their development.
Almost done - now for the miscellaneous information. Things such as disabilities, goals, and any weapons of choice go here. A host of miscellanea can be included here.
Finally, you must provide a short example of your roleplaying ability. We don’t need half a page, just a few sentences to determine if you will follow the rules provided and use understandable English. You don‘t have to be a poet, just yourself.
Character Stats
"Stats" are what we use to determine how the characters grow physically; they determine a character’s capacity for the various tasks to be performed, especially combat. The six stats in this RPG are based on those from the KH games: HP, MP, AP, Str, Def, and Mag. You must keep track of them throughout the game, and you must alter your character sheet accordingly as they change.
After guild crew have read up on your character and approved them, they will use Gaia's dice feature to roll the character's stats for you - this should effectively prevent any cheaters from deleting posts to roll until they are happy with he results. Five dice are roll for HP, five for MP, and five more for you to freely divide between the rest of them (each must be at least 1). After all the die have been rolled, you can return to the second post and record your stats.
HP determines stamina, how much damage one’s body can put up with. Each character has a maximum HP and current HP; when they are equal your character is at "full health." Max HP is the character’s total capacity and the current HP is (obviously) their current condition. As a character takes damage their health naturally diminishes, so HP depletes with damage. If your character’s current HP hits zero (0), they will be rendered immobile and/or unconscious.
MP determines how many spells one can cast. Using magic consumes MP in the similarly to HP, only the character casting the spell is responsible for its depletion instead of another. If you attempt to cast a spell without the necessary MP, the character's MP will be exhausted and will initiate MP recharge (see the Magic & Abilities topic).
AP determines how many abilities a character can learn. Unlike HP and MP, your character’s max AP will increase as they level up. Each ability costs so much AP to learn, but once you spend them to learn a new skill it is permanently equipped for free usage. This stat can also be augmented with abilities.
Strength (Str) is equivalent to how much damage a character can inflict on another through physical attacks. This stat increases as characters level up and can be augmented with weapons, accessories, and special stat boosts.
Magic (Mag) determines, well, your magical power. The higher it is the more effective one’s spells are, just like Strength determines physical attacks. This stat increases as characters level up and can be augmented with weapons, accessories, and special stat boosts.
Defense (Def) is like a person’s constitution in that it decreases the total damage dealt by outside forces. This stat increases as characters level up and can be augmented with weapons, accessories, and special stat boosts.
Skills
This is where you record which spells and abilities the character can use. Fairly self-explanatory. When listing magic, be sure to add the MP cost for each spell; when listing abilities, be sureto add the AP cost for each.
Inventory
Munny, equippable accessories, and other items are recorded here - this includes weapons.
Munny is necessary for many things. It allows one to buy mechandise, gamble, bribe others, and more. Don't forget to update this counter when you gain or lose munny.
Accesories are the gear characters wear to beef themselves up. These things can augment stats and enable special abilities, however, only so many can be equipped at once.
Considering the number of limbs people have and the amount of space on those limbs, we will be trusting your good judgement to not overdo on equipment.
Weapons amplify a character's power when used to attack. Some may even have passive abilities always in effect. Most amplify strength, some amplify magic, and some rare weapons could even improve defense or other stats. Any weapons a character begins with can improve up to two (2) points, either in the same stat or divided between two.
Items have more purposes than we can list here. Remember to regularly update which items you possess and how many.

Important Notes
- If one of your characters has a connection to a canon character, it must be a loose one. No intimacy, family members, or similar.
- Instant victory techniques are strictly prohibited, especially to begin with. Player characters CANNOT have these.
- When choosing a homeworld, or a world your character considers home, you may choose from any word already approved or pending. Even if the world is not yet included in the RPG, as long as it has made the pending list it is all right - just know these worlds cannot yet be visited in-game, so your character must begin in another location.
- Original worlds must first be discussed and considered for addition before any character can visit or credit their origins. Unspecified worlds MIGHT be accepted.
Below are codes you can copy directly into your character thread. It’s easier than organizing it all from scratch, when you could forget an important detail.
