((Sorry that took so long.))
A chill wind blew that sent a cold shiver down Makoto's spine, all the way to his rear end. It was the kind of wind that just made a guy smile and lightly shake his head. At least thats how Makoto reacted to the sensation. He had not been alone in such a long time, he was enjoying the solo walk down the well beaten Fire county's path. Now and again his mind would wonder at how he got to such a place....
"You know this won't be the last time we will see one another" Tanaka said as he grit his teeth holding up the thick envelope of papers in front of his chest. Tanaka was the superior of Makoto in the Village Hidden in the Mist home office. He was primarily a desk jockey and his manner of dress showed how non-combat he was. Makoto just brushed it off as he took the papers from him, tugging at it from Tanaka. He had been promoted to Hunter Ninja for the Mist and these papers proved it. Along with his own personal bingo book and passport to other counties. Tanaka went on to assign Makoto's first target, when Makoto cut him short. He skimmed through some of the papers he got and looked for line that backed his assertion. "I get a month off. It says right here that a hunter ninja for his first mission is alloted an additional amount of time to prepare himself or take the extra time to track the target. Its a buffer month." Makoto left his snooty superior with his jaw about to drop. Makoto had personal plans for his month of time. And he didn't care who was his target. The very next day he left his apartment and using the money he had scrounged and saved he bought a ticket for the fastest boat to the country of Fire.
So use to dashing through woods, and traveling along tree limbs to avoid detection, Makoto was enjoying his easy choice of transport. He could see how normal people enjoyed walks through the forest. The cold wind had faded, but not the smile from his face. He couldn't help but smile. He had done something no one thought he would do. He became a hunter ninja for his homeland. He was dealt a horrible hand. Having the label of missing ninja, rouge team mates, A younger mist partenr who came from a clan who knowingly sells out its homeland, and finally superiors that never gave him a chance. So he did the same. He performed his missions effectively and to the 'T'. He had earned everything in his life and he was finally reworded with job to better serve his homeland. Because really, that was his sole drive in life for the longest time. It was, until 'He' ruined everything. Looking back over his shoulder, and checking his surroundings, the smile faded from his face as he recalled all that happened in his life in relation to Black Wind.
The parchment stated, clearly, 'Fight for a spot on the team.' and that is what he did. With scythe and chain in hand he almost loped the head off of Ishimaru. He lost the use of his arm to Urufu, and ended up his gate of power, which micro cut and tore his muscle fibers, and his gate of Chakra, which could kill him outright if used improperly. Leaping off the giant Bat Lord, whos wing span is that of a city, to prove to his 'teacher' he was willing to die for his country. Suffering from second and first degree burns Makoto laid in the hospital after his skin grafting. In his second chuunin competition Makoto was badly burned. His only human visitor was Black Wind telling him what a failure was. And puncturing his Mist headband with a kunai. Not truly able to move, Makoto plodding his way out of the hospital bed and attempting to put his hands around his foe's neck. The pain was too much and Makoto fell to the ground before getting close enough. Then he was gone, mocking Makoto's very life. From that moment on the already distilled hate that he bore for Black Wind increased to something far sinister. He would seek revenge against the man at any cost.
The actions of toppling parcels from a cart going the opposite way of Makoto brought him back to reality. A woman and an elderly man, transporting various goods. He would normally pay it no mind, but this was not a normal time for the traveling ninja. With a smile he stopped to help the two, by lifting what had fallen back on the cart and retying the belts that held the packages. Whne he was finished the old man thanked him with a wave, while the woman thanked him with a warm smile. She wasn't overly attractive, but she was nice to look at. Clearly older then Makoto though. That was fine, older women were his knack. With a smirk that implied so much and a wink of his left eye Makoto made the woman blush and look away. Before she turned back he was already out of sight. This was a vacation in the sense Makoto was not on a mission, but he did have something to take care of. He wanted to reassure himself of his seduction as it may come down to it. Makoto was heading to the Leaf village to visit an old 'friend'. And he make sure this would be a very memorable visit. That chill wind blew once again in the direction of Konoha, and that same smile crept along Makoto's face.

"Ehh, mornin' Sammi, Ash, Tori, Tama.." Hisaki yawned and stretched as her four cats gathered around their owner. The smallest, a female tabby called Sammi, was being unusually fidgety. "What's wrong girl? You're acting like you can see something I can't."
Hisaki shrugged it off and set out some food for herself and the cats. Today, like yesterday, would be a day of unpacking. The kunoichi was promoted to Jounin level a couple months ago, and the promotion came with a big enough raise so she could get her own small apartment. Finally the ruckus with the Sand and Sound countries died down, they'd be getting another Hokage soon, and Hisaki had a pocket of time to move in.
"Hmm, we're getting a little low on food. I should probably go shopping today. Heh, it can wait till later. I need to finish up these rooms first, it's not like I have too much stuff."
While Hisaki worked, her cats followed her around. All except Sammi, who was sitting at the windowsill, looking outside.

After checking in with the first Konoha outpost he came to and showing his passport and signing some papers Makoto was permitted to walk freely in the city. He complied with all the requirements including the very tedious process of wrapping his sword up with white bandages. He was told it was to identify him better. whatever the reason he didn't care. Makoto had seen first hand what happens to those who take on the leaf village. as he walked down the streets of Konoha he recalled all the damage and chaos of when the elemental dragons attacked. He also recalled how worked construction in the months after to pay for living expenses when he lived here. Not in the city itself, but in the woods outside of it.
He walked through various districts and neighborhoods. Buildings he had helped put up, and things he had never seen before. The occasion glance to him was met with a smile. He knew he was out of place. He knew he looked awkward. He knew he had money and upon entering an open market he found the best way to blend in was to shop. Konoha's markets were nothing like the ones in the Mist. They were so crowded, at least this one section. But he didn't let it bother him. He picked up three apples, all of which were to be his meal for the day and continued on. Eventually he found himself in another neighborhood, so to speak. It was an apartment complex, much like the one he lived in back home. Though not as dirty or run down. He ate his apple, named breakfast, and meandered around the complex. He was slightly lost as to where Hisaki's house was, though he knew it was in a far more upscale area, but he had all day to find it.
"Looks like I won't need all day.." he said to himself as he took another bite. He had seen an old friend in the window of one of the apartment and knew that where one was the other was sure to be close. He didn't know is Sammi saw him, but he would change that. He walked from near the building away from the wall where Sammi was looking out, to the other side of the street. turning around he looked up as the small tabby and waved, his fingers calling her.

After seeing Makoto, Sammi jumped down from the windowsill and ran to Hisaki, who was setting up a table in another room. The small tabby batted her owner's leg until Hisaki had no choice but to look down.
"Hmm, what is it? You're acting strange today." Sammi responded by running back to the window. Hisaki followed her and looked out.
"What's up little kitty? See a new bird out there you want to catch? Sorry, but.. hey, is that Makoto-san?"

Swallowing another bite of breakfast Makoto switched his hands in waving and gave Hisaki wave done by the flick of the wrist. He smiled looking up at her. This was the first time he had seen her not on a video tape. Spreading his feet slightly he spoke at her with a raised voice.
"So I see Sammi found her way back to you. What's your number? I wanna do the same." He took another bite and took a few paces to the complexes steps.

Hisaki waved and opened the window to hear Makoto's words. She called back "Ninety two!" and held up nine fingers and then two in case her voice didn't carry far enough.
"So, that's why you were so excited. You must have sensed that Makoto-san was coming for a visit, hmm Sammi?" Hisaki smiled and pet the small cat as she waited for Makoto to arrive.

Reaching the steps of the complex Makoto looked up, and took another bite of his apple named breakfast. With each rise on his way to see the foreign ninja in her home questions kept creeping in his head. was this how normal people behaved? was this how the Leaf really was? How would she great him up close? did she even remember what she had done to leave such a lasting memory in Makoto's brain? Did she remember their first meeting? Would his plan really succeed? Makoto reached the top of the stairs and looked around. He noticed which way the numbers counted and walked to the left where the 90's were.
The smile from his face had faded. What seemed like a lifetime ago of feelings boiled up in him. He clutched his apple increasingly harder and harder with each step. But not due to anger, but because of his nerves. His fingers dug into the fruit to the point it was about to break. What he was left with was a half destroyed apple and a messy hand. It brought him back to reality really. Makoto chucked the thing away and wiped his hand on the white bandages that were between his back and sword. He shut out all external thoughts and concentrated on the task at hand. for a vacation he picked himself, one would think it was a mission. And that is what it was to him.
Arriving at her door he knocked and wait for her to answer. Standing there for a few second his mind and heart flashed with the same feelings he had while climbing the stairs. That, and a new emotion. He had a split second doubt of his appearance and so he quickly brushed his hair with his hand to make it look neater. It didn't and to try and fix this he quickly shook his head. His hair would just remain how it always looked, like a mess. He shut down these pesky emotions and returned to the calmer, friendlier looking Makoto.

Hisaki opened the door and motioned for Makoto to come in. She was smiling with relief, although she looked like she was about to cry. "Makoto-san! I was so worried about you. The last time I saw you, I had no idea how much I injured you. I didn't know that attack could even hit so hard. I've been looking all over for you, until right now I didn't know if you were alive or still a ninja. Come on in, I think we've got some catching up to do."

Makoto just smiled and took things for face value at the moment. As he stepped into her apartment his sword made it slightly awkward. The handle was a couple inches too big diagonally to enter. Not wanting to lose face in front of Hisaki, as these kinds of situations tended to place the one in the awkward position as the weaker one, and because her didn't want to be behind that 8-ball in case he would have to trick her, he came closer to Hisaki then was needed, their faces close of all. Makoto, still with that almost perfect smile. However, msotly this was just so Makoto's sword wouldn' hit the door frame.
"Catching up?" he said as he took a few steps in her place looking around it. "I'll say. I thought you had a nice big home in another end of the city. what you doing here?" He asked as he came to the middle of the first room he entered.

Hisaki took it in stride and just smiled back at him. To tell the truth, she was too excited about seeing Makoto to worry about small things like awkwardness caused by objects in doorframes.
"My family still lives there, but I prefer it here. It's closer to work and it's far quieter. Finding a place that allowed pets was pretty tricky though. Would you like anything to eat or drink? It must have been a long journey."

"No I'm fine, I already ate." He replied to her. Standing in the room he looked around at all the boxes and the cats she had mentioned. He was pleased to know Sammi made it back to her real owner. Makoto squatted in the direction of Sammi and curled his right hands finger in an attempt to call for the cat. "When did Sammi come get back to you? I look away for a second and she was out of my life." Makoto wasn't facing Hisaki, so he didn't need to smile so profoundly. and when the subject of Sammi's departure came up it brought Makoto back to the last time he went searching for Hisaki. But his voice and body language were still normal.
