((this is gonna be at some random highschool cause Lydia is highschool age and all that. So if your human is in highschool come say hi cause she needs someone to be angsty with))
Lydia slammed the locker door with a bit more force than was entirely necessary. She regretted buying that stupid magnetic mirror at the start of the year. It seemed like the ‘in’ thing to do – decorate your locker door and those mirrors were easy and took up space. Now it just served to remind her how ghastly her face was becoming. Her cheeks were thin, her skin was pale, and there were dark circles like bruises under her eyes from her restless sleep.
His fault. She took a deep breath and carefully pulled her backpack over her shoulder. But he wasn’t real. Just a dream. And even she knew how futile a rationale that sounded in her own mind.
She turned and leaned on the locker, watching people go by, hoping to see someone she knew. The first bell hadn’t rung yet and she still had time.

((nyahh. Melody is a college student~.))
Melody rubbed her temples, leaning against the wall and trying to wake herself up. She enjoyed the sun's rays casting their comforting glow across the campus, but regardless, Melody was as fatigued as ever. For the past few nights, she suffered insomnia, being unable to sleep because of some unearthly presence she sensed sometimes in the darkness of the night. Her eyes fluttered in a daze as she tried to stay awake.
Running on only caffeine lately, she became even more introverted than usual, though randomly bursting into hyper moments sometimes due to the caffeine. Either way, her friends thought nothing serious of it, assuming Melody simply had been staying up later doing homework or something.

Amy paused in the school hallway, her head tilting to the side. Was that Lydia next to the lockers? It seemed like it was, but she couldn't see from this angle. She hadn't seen Lydia in a long time, and she was suprised to see her now. That is, if it was Lydia.
She raised her hand, waving it slightly, as she called, "Lydia! Over here!" She tried to make her way through the large moving crowd toward the girl.

Moira moved through the halls, her head down, aware that anyone who knew her was pointedly ignoring her... mShe couldn't meet their eyes. As she tried to avoid them, she nearly collided with some girl hailing a friend. Her binder slipped out of her arms and papers scattered. "Damnit!" She apologized to the girl absently as she best to pick them up.

"Oh, no, it's my fault." Amy immediately bent down and started gathering up the girl's strewn papers. Once the papers were mostly gathered up, she offered the girl a smile, extending the papers out to her. "I'm really sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going. Here, I got most of these for you. I hope you don't mind that they're out of order. I'm really really sorry about this." She chuckled, a bit nervously, and her green eyes swept up and down the girl, giving her a once-over. She hadn't ever seen the girl before, although they looked around the same age.
"I'm Amy Parker," she said, tilting her side slightly to the side. A smile curved her mouth. "What's your name?"

Moira shoo her head, blue eyes wide as blood flushed her cheeks. "It's fine. I can always re-arrage them, after all." She stood and dusted off her skirt nervously. There was a crease in it, now... but she didn't notice except to run her hands over it a second time. "It's fine," she said again, unsure of why. "I'm... ah... Moira. Moira Rutilus."

"Wow, I've never met someone with that name before," Amy said, smiling at the blonde. "Any reason your parents named you that, or...?" She suddenly chuckled, rubbing the back of her neck with a hand. "Oh, I'm a junior, by the way. What grade are you in?"

She returned the smile slowly, softly, uncertain. That would explain why they didn't know one another... she'd only had a few friends who were juniors. "I'm a senior." Did that mean Amy hadn't heard of her before? "It's an uncanny name, yes. Not very normal... My mother just liked it, is all. Are headed to class or lunch?"

"I've got class, but it's right over there." Amy pointed at a classroom across the hallway. "There's still plenty of time left before I've got to go inside the room. What do you have next?"

She pointed to the class right beside it. "English... It's a good class. I like the teacher." She leaned against the wall and allowed herself to relax a little. "What's yours?"

A grimace twisted Amy's mouth. She shivered slightly, clutching her own books to her chest. "Anatomy," she said. "We're doing cat dissections now, and it smells horrible. Not to mention absolutely disgusting what some of the people in that class will do." She shook her head, a sigh escaping her mouth. "Some of them are so immature. In fact, just the other day, someone tried to break one of the heads off so they could use it like a finger puppet. I hate it when people do stuff like that."
A smile broke across her face, and she tilted her head. "Want to switch with me?"

Lydia started when she heard someone calling her name. She shook herself - far too jumpy. It was just Amy and she breathed a sigh of relief and them watched as some new girl - she had no idea who it was - scattered papers all over the hall. After they were picked up and there wasn't a milling mass of people between her and her friend, she walked over.
"Hey," she said softly, "Hi Amy."
She looked at Moira curiously.
"I'm Lydia," she said quickly, as if she wanted to get the introduction over as soon as possible, "Haven't seen you before. What's your name?"

"No," she said, with a sympathetic smile. "That's why I'm in Astronomy." That did sound rather sickening-- Finger puppets? "Can't you ask to sit out? Or stay home sick or something?"
Moira froze as she heard another voice and saw the other girl come towards them. She relaxed as she realized it was another stranger. "I'm Moira." She coughed and shifted nervously.

"I wish I could sit out on all my classes," Lydia said with a nervous laugh, "but really, they're almost a nice distraction..."
She trailed off her for a moment she stared into space, her lips slightly parted as if she were staring at something. Then she shook her head and smiled weakly.
"Nice to meet you Moira. Sorry I'm a bit... out of it. Didn't sleep well last night." She laughed again, and it sounded quite forced.
