Ok...So the person flying the plane is clearly insane. Also the plane is crazy defencivly, and the bad guys havent used RPGs yet. So thats good.

It's obvious it's Sodler shooting at them, to guarantee Sage's death and so s/he can get Athena's mirror with no problems from Sage.
As for the pilot, s/he's gonna die or atleast it's what I think. I predict Sage and Balberith will either evacuate or survive the crash.
Poor Balb. XP He dislikes flying, and now it's gotten worse!
