Toroka padded eagerly out of the rogue lands and into the Pridelands. A small smile appeared on her lips as she treaded carefully, trying to avoid stepping on the abundant flowers. Kit was right, she thought. It's beautiful here.
Pride Rock's silhouette grew taller in the distance and the subtle, rocky features became more apparent. The rust-furred lioness lifted her nose to the air, picking up the scents of all the lions that had passed by there before. She could tell it was a popular spot and grinned lightly to herself. She, too, was leaving her mark on this place. Perhaps some other lion, sometime in the future, would find her scent.
She let out a content sigh. The sun had just begun rising over the horizon, spilling light across the savannah. Toro had no destination in mind, glad to go wherever her paws took her.

As the morning light touched on Pride Rock, Danzi stretched his way out of his chosen den. He'd grown to strangely like the little den away from the main pride den, it gave him a sense of solitude. And it kept him from getting kicked in the night... Not that it mattered, one of his many adopted sisters had found the spot to be desirable, too. Thus, when he left in the mornings, he knew Mut would be there sleeping still when he returned.
Heading for the watering hole, the orange male felt a warming breeze ruffle his dark mane. As he inhaled, he felt a sense of belonging. This was home, this was the land, the very kingdom, of his forefathers. He would never rule like his cousin, Kamilika, but it didn't bother him. He saw his place to be amid the other lions, not on the throne. It had been the only world he knew, and it was the world he loved.
The cool water ran down his throat as he lapped at it, enjoying the morning. But on the breeze, a new scent passed his nose. A newcomer to the land, which wasn't too uncommon. Standing up, he looked around, soon spying a brown lioness. So that's where it came from. A smile graced his maw as he let out a call of good morning.

Toro looked up as someone greeted her, her dark brown eyes bright. A small smile snaked across her lips as she noticed the orange lion in the distance. She cleared her throat and sauntered forward, flicking her tail mischeviously as her eyes twinkled. "Why, hello," she purred, grinning.
And so it began.
Toroka was not one for 'social etiquette'. She was never intentionally rude, but she enjoyed flirting so much that she never thought a lot about how it made her 'target' feel. Danzi was no exception, and as she fluttered her eyelashes playfully, she was more concentrated on herself than she was on him.
"You have very striking fur," she said with a sparkle in her eyes. "Although I suppose only the best fur would do for such a handsome lion."
She wasn't seriously trying to hit on him, only playing around in the (sometimes tactless) way she did.

"Hi" A bity of a blush rose on the male's orange fur at her comments. As he watched her, he processed her words and tried to see if there was any other meaning besides the obvious. Of course, being male... He didn't. Black-tipped tail twitching, more of a blush rose. "Thanks... You're rather lovely yourself." For all the lady friends Danzi had... He still didn't know much about how to act around a lioness who appeared to be flirting with him.

Toroka purred, obviously pleased by the compliment. "Thank you!" she chirped, her tail flicking. Even if he was simply returning her sentiment and there was no meaning behind his words, she still loved hearing it. What girl didn't?
"So, do you live here?" She eyed Pride Rock. "I have a few friends here... my half brother included." Toro chuckled, adding, "Though I doubt you know them - I've heard this pride is huge."

Watching the lioness, Danzi smiled. He'd made her smile, that was a good thing. "Yes, I live here. Who might your half-brother be? Maybe I've seen him." Then again... Danzi was always moving, so he didn't meet too many of the lions in the pride. His fault, really. But there was never time to gripe and moan over his lack of propper social life. Danzi liked the friends he did have, even if they were all female. Somewhere in his mind, he figured this lioness would be no different.
His train of thought hit its breaks. He didn't know her name! "Ah, forgive me, but I don't know your name." He bowed slightly, smiling at her. "I'm Danzi." He witheld the long train of relations. That would take... Way too long to run through. Besides, he wanted lions to continue to get to know just Danzi, not the only son of the late lord Taka, nephew of the late king Mufasa and late queen Sarabi.

Toroka offered him a grin, flicking her tail. "His name is Janikiwiti and he's a giant white brute of a lion. He's a big softy, though. He lives here with his mate and cubs."
"Danzi?" she asked, tilting her head. "A nice name." The lioness decided to hold back for a few minutes, not wanting to scare the orange male away. He seemed nice and she was in desperate need of a conversation, after having spent so much time alone since her friend left. "I'm Toroka, but you can call me Toro."
She yawned and arched her neck, stretching. "It's not the company, really," said chuckled. "But warm, sunny days tend to put me to sleep." She opened her eyes in an exaggerated fashion, showing that she was attempting to stay awake.
