Battle Royale

Story/background

42 unlucky students from a high school in Japan have just won an impartial lottery.
The prize? One week on a small island hidden by the government.
This island is where everything will take place, it’s the chosen spot for each years “battle royale”
You are one of these students and chances are, you will die.

I highly recommend watching this instead of reading what’s in the next section!
(part 2 of Battle Royale, the explanation it gives starts at 3:05)
(I quoted it nearly line for line, but its better if you watch it. Just remember the 3 day time limit has been upped to 1 week.)

Hello everyone in class b!
You are the lucky class chosen for this year’s battle royale!
CONGRATULATIONS!
Now I’m going to explain the rules for you
Listen well to fight right and with gusto.
You are on a deserted island that looks like this

its about ten kilometers around.
But we evacuated everyone so its empty. The island is divided into many zones.
Every six hours your teacher’ll broadcast an update.
About which zones are becoming danger zones. If you are in those zones you should leave quickly.
Because the danger is…………..
OK, about the necklaces you are wearing.
They are 100% water proof and shock proof and permanent!
It monitors your pulse, informing us of your location and movements
So if you linger in a danger zone.
Or cause trouble we can identify you and transmit radio waves
That trigger and alarm and boom! It explodes!
If you try to rip it off it explodes too. So promise not to try that, OK?
Oh, I forgot one important thing there’s a time limit on this game: 1 week!
If we haven’t gotten 1 winner after 1 week all the necklaces automatically explode!
And no one wins. As long as we’re here, lets fight hard. So that doesn’t happen!

Rules:

1. no godmodding, I’ll give a description of how fighting will go, use that.
2. cybering goes to the PMs. Though romance is allowed, a surprise for those that do end up in a relationship.
3. No auto-hitting, its an honor system, go by what you think would really happen, not what you want to happen.
4. if you follow the fighting description I give then you may kill without getting permission. Otherwise get permission to kill someone.
5. yes you can steal the dead’s weapons, no proplem with that.
6. if you die, don’t try to come back as someone new unless i give prior permission. Just send me a Pm if you want me to tell you when I’m doing another of these RPs. Or try to make your own version of this instead.
7. I hold the right to kill who I want when I want, though that will only occur if someone is breaking rules or being so horribly illiterate people complain about him/her to me.
8. be literate don't use ** for actions.
9. you are all 9th grade kids, nothing special. Your background should be used to explain your personality this time, not your powers.
10. play your character, if you make a pacifist character play like you’re a pacifist. Even if it gets you killed.
11. don’t play as some psycho killer, remember your character shouldn’t be used to being forced to kill everyone he has gone to school with his/her whole life.
12. PM me your profiles
13. add to your profile a wink if you read the rules, a confused if you read all but the variant rules. Add a sweatdrop if you read everything on this page.
14. I’ll add more as I think of them or am given suggestions, suggestions are welcome.
15. when either myself or PakkinRakkin plays the teacher we reserve the right to god-mod against any we feel broke the rules. in other words, you cheat, we kill you.

Things you should know about.


The necklaces:

They are rather large metal necklaces that are secured around your neck, a monitor in the front of it starts beeping when the alarm is activated. They cannot be destroyed.

The weapons:

Random weapons will be distributed by luck to each entrant to partake in Battle royale. These weapons vary greatly, some “weapons” are nearly useless,
Others are great, just not for fighting with.

The danger zones:
The movie uses letter codes for each danger zone.
As will I and a chart of which code is which area will be on the first page.
(being in a danger zone for more then an 1 will trigger the necklace)
North woods: C-2, C-6, C-7,

South woods: I-3-9, H-3-9,D-1-5, D-7, G-5, G-6

Eastern woods: D-8 E-7-9, F-7-9,

Western woods: E-1-3, F-1-4, G-1-4, G-7-9

Northern mountains: E-5, E-6

Southern hills: F-5, F-6

Abandoned village: B-4-5, C-3-5

Abandoned factory/warehouse: E-4

Lighthouse: I-10

Northern Peninsula: A-2, B-2, B-3

Heavily fortified BR HQ: D-6

The weapon list:

There are 42 weapons; each has two numbers with it,
One is an addition to the damage you can inflict,
The second is what you add when you defend.
I will discuss this more later, don’t worry.
(this is the first time I’ve tried such a system. The numbers were assigned quickly off the top of my head. So send me suggestions if you so feel like it on what you think.)

How you get your first weapon.

(by weapon I mean item, not all items are actually weapons but that’s the term that is used.)

When you PM me your profile I will post with a 42 sided dice roll. Then send you and acceptance pm with the name of your weapon. I will then delete the post with the number I rolled.
oh, and you also start with, 1 weeks worth of read and water, a flashlight. and a map.

The Fighting System

(First time I’ve used this, I may update this periodically, and suggestions are welcome.)


OK, here is the basic system I’ve got in mind.
We will be using the dice rolling, so if you don’t like that, you might not want to join.
Now, when you attack someone you will do it like normal, if you auto-hit bad things may happen. Instead when you type out a post with you attacking someone roll a 20 sided die. Add your weapons attack number to it. The person who your attacking will roll a 20 sided die in his post, then add the defense number to it. If the attacker has the higher number, the attack hits. If the defender has a higher number he blocked, dodged, got lucky, etc.
If you are hit treat the hit like if you were hit with that particular weapon in real life. In other words, if you get shot in the back don’t turn around and suddenly open fire, chances are you’d be in shock and not capable of attacking. If someone specifies that they are aiming for the head or any specific limb with a distance weapon they minus 4 to their roll to see if they hit. If they somehow have the element of surprise they add 4 to their roll to see if they hit. (that doesn’t mean your going to spend the entire time in a tree or hiding in wait unless the weapon you’ve ended up with usually works better when you stay out of sight.
Remember CHANCES ARE YOU WILL DIE!
So if you are hit by a claymore or down a dose of Potassium cyanide you will more then likely be dead.
Oh, and almost forgot. With things like Claymores, barbed wire trip lines etc. if you are watching someone from the bushes and they run through were you set one such item pm them telling them they need to edit their post with a defense roll. You won’t need to roll because something like those would automatically hit.

Miscellaneous stuff


ok, this is just stuff that doesn't go in a particular place. like....
1. you may play as more then one charactor.
2. you may not create more then 2 charactors.
3. if your necklace starts beeping your about to die. chances are kids this age would begin to panic when this happens. so unless your charactor is extremly level headed or is gettng used to all this stuff play like a normal 9th grade kid would if they knew that in a matter of seconds they were about to die.
4. you charactors ARE NOT expert marksmen or martial artists. if you've got a gun your not going to always hit and you may even forget to reload it every once in awhile or even not turn of the safety. if you've got a blade of something of that sort chances are your more prone to swing randomly or something then aim for specific body parts other then the head.
5. try to keep track of what zone your in and don't magically appear at the light house if you were in the village nearly 10 kilometers away. periodically i will pm some of you asking what zone your in, don't lie.
6. this will go alot on the honor system, i'm trusting that you guys can be responsible and not lie in order to win.
