None of us are perfect; we make spelling and grammar errors just like everyone else.

I'd like to know what errors, either intentional or unintentional, that you have, and for the intentional ones, why. Mine are below.

Unintentional:
- Spelling errors. I have a learning disability in spelling and handwriting (the latter being dysgraphia, a condition similar to dyslexia, but focused on writing), and I'll miss things. I try to catch things, but some slip by me, and even when corrected, it might not stick. If you spot my errors, correct me (not on British/American differences, you'll just start an argument).

- Punctiation and parenthesis/quotation marks/etc. I'm not certain on where to put commas, periods, and the like, and when I've looked it up, some parts didn't stick.

- -ence and -ance. They just always confuse me.

Intentional:
- "ok." Seeing "OK" irritates me for some reason, so I treat it as a normal word.

- Some Internet slang. I tend to use LMAO, XD, hawt, and brb (lowercase, and in response to someone saying it, a lowercase "k") during conversations. I picked up LMAO and XD as a way of expressing laughter without constant emoticons, hawt as a more emphasized form of hot (when describing attractive), and brb to quickly note I'm going to be gone (k is just a quick acknowledgement)

Lol, brb, Okay, Oki, wtf, I even use the occasional plz when I feel that's how it should sound, like a quick 'please'.

Unintentional? None.

Intentional errors come about because I tend to model my speech patterns on Dinosaur Comics.

I'll spell out "lawl" or "oh-em-gee" occasionally. But I wouldn't consider that a spelling error.

I occasionally capitalize the second letter in a sentence. LIke this. That happens when I'm typing quickly.

There are some rules of grammar that I don't fully understand.
For the most part, though, my grammar is excellent.

I got a lot of unintentional grammatical error. Mostly the capital letters on every sentence and the misspelled words. Since I am in this guild I have to check my post before posting. I am scared to post in this kind of guild.

Yeah... I have problems with saying 'brb, ttyl, bbl/bbial, XD, *Lmao*' and saying 'k' when I'm chatting.

I'm not too good at remembering how to spell embarress(sp?) either... That and when typing to fast certain letters get capitalized or something.

Sometimes I don't edit my work and I write it hot off the press... only to find out I spelt the word the twice in the same sentence, beside each other. Silly mistakes like that are always a slap in the face... lol

I have a type of dyslexia, so I do have spelling errors sometimes. Plus I'm just a bad speller XD Sometimes I have trouble with commas too. I also occasiionally use lol, XD, an XP. Lastly, every time I type the word 'idea' I capitalize it. I can usually catch it, but sometimes it still slips out.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 04, 2007 4:41 pm

Unintentional: I sometimes put 't' at in the middle of 'the,' making hte, but I usually catch it, or I write like 'liek.' Also, I have trouble with 'ing' sometimes, mostly when I write making, I sometimes put makeing. Other things are purely grammatical, and I screw up on tence alot. I put 'is' when I should have 'was' and vice versa.

Intentional: sometimes I write in l33t speak, but I've toned down on that as I have grown older. I also use things like lol, lmao, brb, k, things like that.

I have horrible problems with "More" and "-er". (Like I put Mature as Maturer) but I find using stuff like XD, XP, and lol, LM(F)AO, hawt and all those that are not the "bad" kind of 1337 talk good and fine to use. If people type in lol, I'm fine. People who complain about that online need serious help.(If they complain that people do it in real life then it's okay to complain)

I have problems with the correct usage of who and whom. Never could get that.

Intentional, I use things like XD, O.o, and other emote-things often. Can't get out of the habit. It seems to convey my feelings better.

I'm pretty good at spelling, though.

Most of my errors just come as typographical when Im trying to type fast. I dotn like to spend too much time giving a response, so I tend to type fast, all the time. Its when I type faster, and I really am in a hurry, that my typoes get really horrible: to the point where you cant understand it. Usually its little things:
soemthing - something
from - form
ans - and
whihc - which

You can still understand htem though. Oops, theres another one. Ill leave it for the sake that I was just typing some.

Other things that get me are who - whom. I will use them correctly out of pure instinct, but when I think about it, I get confused, so much that I go blank and then I cant answer the problem (happened my Junior year of High School).

"OK" is actually supposed to be "O.K." because its an abbhreviation. Thats what I was taught, but I sitll type "ok" unless Im being dead serious in a heated conversation and I feel the need to emphasize that I am, in fact, okay with the problems.

The only other major problem I have is a.. sort of.. regular thinking problem. When I see "lol" typed, as in Emopikminshallruleoverall's post, I immediately picture the person laughgin out loud, or laughing period, so it makes it hard for me to understand when people use that in context to talk about it.

I have occasional problems with comma usage (often overusing them.)

Aside from that...nothing really.

I try my best to type as well as possible. I use the emoticons as discribed by other people (ex. O.o, ^_^, O.O; wink , because not only does it make people understand my reaction, it's also way cuter than the regular emoticons on Yahoo! and MSN,

Sometimes I do mess up, but I tend to type without looking at the keyboard and sometimes things do slip by me. I try and re-read my post before posting, that way I can correct myself before someone notices. ninja
