First off, if you dont like roleplaying, then you may want to leave. Now. Also, if youre squeemish about yaoi or yuri, as they may be said here (or something like that.. some people only roleplay yaoi).
So, who likes to roleplay?
I have some questions though.. Now, when I roleplay, its quite formal. Every word is typed out, punctuation is present, grammar, whole sentences, the works. Its almost as if we are typing the different sides of a novel. As a matter of fact.. all my rpg's with friends, you can take them and form completely coherent novels out of them.
Does anyone else do this? Or do you all use txt tlk?

I like to role-play, and I believe I am moderate at role-playing. Everyone I role-play with writes to the best of their abilities typing out everything, corecting grammer, everything. If I saw someone who was role-playing with txt tlk I would insert a virus into their computer and burn their house down! Wait, scratch that last part.

I'd like to point out that you failed to put an apostrophe in your it's when it was relevent. Sorry, pet peeve.
Also, you'll probably find that most here use full text when roleplaying. I do enjoy roleplaying. It doesn't have to be like a novel, just a good description of what's happening, but full type is mandatory.

Oh I know it doesnt have to be a novel, but it can easily be put together and make sense like one. And I know I missed the apostrophe (spelling?), but I rarely, if ever, actually use it. Unless Im saying "I'm" alot in a paragraph or soemthing of that sort, where it would just seem too wrong to not use them.

I like roleplaying but I rarely have time to write or think about it.

"Txt Tlk" annoys me. Usually, if an overwhelming amount of morons are in a roleplay, I refuse to join it, and vice versa-- if they join and begin the "Txt tlk", I end up killing or challenging the person doing it, or leaving. I can't stand illiteracy. emo

Well, of course. Unfortunately, even the Literate Roleplaying Guild's standards seem to be dropping. A lot of people make basic grammatical errors. The quality is there, but it's just a little annoying when someone talks about actions in past-tense one sentence, and then in the next, they use present-tense verbs.

"txt tlk" in a role-play is quite annoying. It makes me, like Flame_Dhampir, want to give their computer a virus and burn their house down. Minus the scratching out part.
I, unlike most of my role-playing peers, am quite a formal writer.

When I role play, I am always the most formal. But, I do like role playing. By the way, is role playing one word or two?

Ouch I HATE it when they do that! Past tense then present tense. Thast like.. Oh, I forget what its called.. contradicting verb usage, or something like that. I cant remember, its been so long since Ive had to think about that, or even heard it because no ones ever said that about my work, or my writing, so theres no need really for me to try to remember it.
Arkly: Actually.. I think its 'role-playing'. With the dash, but then again, its so commonly referred to as role playing, or roleplaying, and spell checkers wont even catch it. When they do, they seem to state that all three forms of it are invalid. If it says the dashed form is, then its simply because spell checkers are supposed to check the word before the dash, and the one after it, and if those ar eokay, they basically ignore the dash. (Therefore, you can use anyword with a dash in it and as long as all parts are spelled correctly, the whole thing is considered 'correct' even though it may not actually be so).
In summary: I just type whatever seems convenient.. I have this sort of.. mind-thinking, that when I am talking about it in a certain way, I use a different 'spelling' for it. Its just 'one of those words', you know?

I've actually gotten so used to roleplaying online, I don't think I'd be any good at tabletop anymore.
I do like to think I'm at least competent in most situations.

Yes. Roleplaying tabletop? Ive only ever roleplayed online.. Well, no scratch that. Once when the teacher wanted silence, my friend and I passed notes roleplaying on it. We were bored.

Before I even knew what roleplaying was my best friend and I used paper notes to roleplay by. When I first found Gaia, I was shocked. So there was actually a term for what we were doing! We'd just called them our "games" or "stories".
When I roleplay, I'm formal. I type out words, use punctuation, ect. I love roleplaying. "Like writing a book with several authors," is how I describe it to anyone who's unfamiliar with it. Of course, then you have the people who automatically assume Dungeons and Dragons with the word "roleplay". I hate that stereotype, if that would be the correct term. It's like when I tell people I live in Nevada - the first thing they ask, every time, is: "Do you live in Las Vegas?" Yes, yes I do... Because, after all, there's only one city in our grand ol' Silver State...

I roleplayed once and I was totally ignored. I love roleplaying; fantasy has intrigued me ever since I played an MMO called NexusTK when I saw people carrying large swords which were crudely depicted by graphically inadequate sprites.
