Inari padded along, happy with himself today. He was no longer a cub, was on his way to becoming an adult, a strong adult that would one day become a warrior. Yes, that would be wonderful when that would happen. His family would be so proud of him, he would become something great. Then he could go find No and tell her, they could tell each other about any adventures they had had recently.
Although, Inari was happy with himself, he was quite bored. He was wandering through the tall grasses aimlessly, looking for something to do. Sometimes boredom was rather annoying, he couldn't find a way to get around it sometimes.

Wahabu was sitting on a rock near the edge of the tall grass, looking out over it with a small smile on his face. He hadn't been in this part of the Pridelands for a long time, not since around the time he'd obtained the scars on his back and neck. This is where Kilango took him to play that awful game, and this is where he and K'Anatak had been playing. It had one of his best and one of his worst memories.
The youth suddenly got to his feet and leapt from the rock, into the grass. He stopped to shake his head a bit, still rather unaware of just how fluffy he'd become lately. He looked around him and made a face- the grass was not nearly as tall as he remembered it being. That meant he either got bigger, or it got smaller. But he knew, of course, that the idea of the world shrinking around him was silly!
With nothing better to do, he too started to wander through the grass- looking to see if he could find anything interesting.

Inari heard the grass shuffle and he peered around his his golden eyes. The blue feather Mrost had given him was still behind his ear, and there is stayed for all time, somehow he managed to make it stay there and have it stay without falling every two minutes. For that he was happy, the feather meant a lot to him. Reminded him that one day he would become a great warrior.
Then he saw something bit and yellow...that was strange. Was that a lion? Hmm, well, he had seen strange colored lions before, even had seen Mrost who was a god. So the yellow wasn't that different, so Inari padded closer to this other lion, perhaps they could be friends or something.
"Hello," Inari said, after climbing to the top of a rock to see this other one better. A male like himself, yes, one day Inari would be as big as him.

Wahabu started when a younger lion suddenly greeted him and hopped up onto a rock nearby. He usually paid better attention to his surroundings but was too at ease this afternoon it seemed. With a friendly smile, Wahabu stepped through the grass and closer to the rock.
"Hello there," he greeted him with a grin. He looked the stranger over, and his eyes stopped on the feather- if he had not gotten a feather from K'A (Which was still tired to his ear) or known so much about gods, he might have guessed it was only from a bird. His grin widened, "I'm Wahabu, who're you?"

"I'm Inari," he said simply, puffing his chest out to look stronger. Yes, he would be so much stronger one day. He noticed that this Wahabu fella had a feather too, "I like your feather, very white, I've never seen one so white." Perhaps it was special to Wahabu just as his feather was special to him.
Was his feather from a god or goddess to?
That would be interesting.

"Nice to meet you, Inari," Wahabu said politely, laughing quietly as Inari puffed up proudly. This lion was certainly nothing like he was! Wahabu was surprised to find he was so comfortable in the face of a stranger, laughing and smiling. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact he was bigger than Inari, Inari was not female and also had a feather.
"Thanks," he said, puffing up a bit himself at the comment and shaking his little mane to wave the white feather about, "I've never seen any feathers like yours before- where did you get it?" Ah, now he would find out if he knew about gods. He respected his mother's request not to go blabbing about how she was a goddess in case others did not believe or want to believe in gods, and thought it might be a good idea now too. Though he doubted such a strange feather would ever be on a bird..

Inari smiled and peered at his own feather through the corners of his eye, "From a close friend, he gave it to me," Inari really didn't want to say he got if from a god, it might sound funny to Wahabu. Though he looked back to Wahabu and continued to smile, "I want to get bigger soon, so then I can show him how strong I've become. He's going to help me get really strong when I'm older, so I can be a warrior, and protect those I can about."
He nodded as he spoke, confident in himself and his words, "What about your feather? Its quite nice."

Wahabu listened attentively, nodding despite being somewhat surprised at the vague reply he was given about the feather. He wondered if maybe there were birds like that about that he'd just never seen.
"You must know some interesting birds," he commented carefully, not even sounding entirely convinced about what he said- it was obvious the birds part of it was a guess. He tilted his head to glance back at whatever he could see of his own feather, smiling, "I got mine from a friend, too."

"Birds?" Oh...ya, how was he supposed to keep Mrost's identity secret...call him a bird? He gulped, hopefully the god of war would never find out Inari called him a bird. "Yes, he's quite nice, very big and strong. is yours from a bird too?" Inari wondered though, if that feather really was from a god...
He wondered if Mrost and the possible god Wahabu knew knew each other...

Wahabu watched Inari hesitate at the birds comment, and smiled. Perhaps, it was a bird, but the initial reaction didn't seem very convincing! However, he decided he would not pursue the matter. When asked if his came from a bird, he wrinkled his nose as he tried to imagine his friend as a bird.
K'A would be a pretty funny bird.
"What else do feathers come from?" he asked with a small grin after he managed to hold back the laugh.

"Good question..." Inari said, trying to play along with Mrost being a bird and not a god. He wondered if Wahabu was doing the same. "Though I have heard that gods and goddess' have feathered wings, I'm sure they look magnificent," he said with a nod. Denying and withholding the fact that he knew a god, and his deranged son.
"I'm sure that when you meet them you know they are an immortal," Inari said with a smile. Yes, this conversation was interesting, quite interesting.

Wahabu grinned knowingly when Inari suddenly mentioned gods, unable to hide what he thought about the whole idea. So he did know about gods, but did not claim his feather was from one- perhaps he did know a bird with those kind or feathers.
"So you know about gods," he commented with a smile, saying nothing about his own feather being from a god just yet. His expression went a bit indignant at the Inari's certainty that you would know an immortal if you say one. Wahabu had certainly not know his mother was a goddess, even after having dreams about her as one, and she turned out to be one.
"I don't know about that, they could pretend to be mortal if they wanted to," he nodded matter-of-factly.

Inari then tilted his head at Wahabu...was that one of his feathers? Now he was confused, did Wahabu know a god or was he a god in disguise. "Thats true, I wonder how many make allusions around themselves...do you know a god Wahabu? Perhaps I could meet him someday." Inari said with a nod.
Perhaps he would find out something now.
Because Inari was just confusing himself.

Wahabu made an awkward coughing sound when Inari wondered aloud how many go about in illusions. He had no idea that he was perhaps making it seem as if he could be a god in disguise- he was a lot like his mother, but not that much like her.
"I- I know a couple," he admitted and tossed his head again, showing off the feather again, "That's where I got this feather, not from a bird." He made a conscious decision not to mention that he'd been tricked by a goddess into thinking her a mortal, it was enough to admit he knew some for now. If Inari knew about gods, and had brought it up himself, then it had to be OK to admit it.

"You do? I thought so," Inari chuckled to himself, "Mine is from a god too, I didn't want to say anything unless I knew you knew one." Inari said with a nod motioning to his feather, "The god this came from means a lot to me he does, I need to get stronger before I go looking for him again though."
He flicked his tail and hopped down from the rock, peered up at Wahabu and smiled, "Do you only know one?"
