It wasn't every day that Akamichi took a trip, but all the same the large maned wolf had gone out to find... something.... and now here he was heading back home once more. Home where he would finally be able to fall down to his side off of his feet and not move for a long time. Home where he'd be able to kick back and relax with a smile on his muzzle and a sigh in his heart.

Home was always the best place to be after all.

"Dad! Are we gonna be home yet!?" Isis all but screamed from his back, her back to his shoulders as she reclined against the large leather collar around his broad red and white neck. Aka didn't make a noise at first, but when she started doing that annoying chirp thing she always did to get his attention, Aka rolled his shoulders and shivered.

"We'll be there soon Isis, just be patient..." His smooth voice slid from his muzzle slowly, reverberating over the distance around them in the deep way it always did.

The female maned wolf wiggled where she sat, uncomfortable with the day's heat. Her fur felt very thick lately, and almost heavy. She was constantly moving around because she never felt satisfied, she never felt at ease. Today was no different as Resee wandered around aimlessly, though she stayed instinctively close to home. Her family was important to her, and since she had no business elsewhere, she felt it fair to them if she stuck around.

But that didn't keep her from being wistful. She still wanted puppies, she felt they would ultimately complete her life and give her a sense of importance. But so far none. Why couldn't she find a suitable male?

Sighing to herself, she shook out her fur then picked up the pace. Whenever she thought like this, she always felt the need to run. It was almost as if she were trying to run away from the very thoughts that plagued her mind. She wished it were possible.

Moving along, she passed in front of a pair of animals, just about one hundred yards ahead. She didn't see them, however, nor hear them for she had already delved too deeply within her own thoughts. They prevented her from seeing what was actually in front of her, and they shut out all outside sound. She was lost in her mind, perhaps forever. But her body still ran.

On and on... and she would keep running until there was something to stop for.

A breeze brushed past the large Maned Wolf as he trotted along, causing him to stop in his tracks and turn to see what it was. What caught his eye was a female that was running with the wind, so fast that she was almost a blur of color that made Aka watch her even more.

It wasn't normally his way to call out to others, but Akamichi couldn't help it with her, so a loud howl ripped from his muzzle and Aka turned on one of his white paws.

For some reason he had to talk to her and ask her what would make her run like that....

Paws struck the ground faster, his collar whipping about around his large neck and Isis hanging on with her only arm as she was drug through the air. She was used to it though, after all she was always riding on his collar and he ran quite a bit when it came to getting food.

He howled once more, but he was catching up to her already so it was a bit quieter this time.

Resee was running, running until she didn't think her paws would be capable of carrying her any farther. But her never-ending run was suddenly cut short by a close howl. Perhaps not so close that she would be able to smell the owner right away, but close enough to where she almost stumbled over herself coming to a stop when it rang out.

Recovering herself, she spun around quickly in all directions, attempting to find the source of said howl. She was surprised and caught slightly off guard when another howl rang out, this time much closer.

Reeling, the female maned wolf finally spotted another of her kind, heading towards her. Her immediate thought was to run. She wasn't very social. But then she figured that he had a purpose for seeking her out. And if he had wanted to do anything horrible to her, well, then, he shouldn't have called out.

Standing where she was, defiant-looking, Resee watching the other with piercing eyes. She waited for him to say something first, since he had been the one that had called her.

"Thank you... for stopping." Akamichi panted as he came to a stop a few paces away from her. "You run like the wind cousin, I've never seen anything like it and I've been told even I'm fast."

His pants came in heavy pushes as he finally calmed himself down, puffing up his chest and smiling at the other the best that he could. She seemed as if she didn't wish to speak with him, but Aka didn't exactly blame her, he was just a loner that she didn't know after all. For all she knew he wished her harm, which was further from the truth then she could possibly imagine.

"I appologize for calling out to you so rudely, but there was something... I don't know. I just wanted to speak with you for some reason."

His red and white tail swished slightly and he laughed sheepishly, head turning to look to the side as he blushed lightly. He understood why it happened of course, but he still felt as if he were rude in his actions. Especially now that he got the chance to peer at the beautiful stripped female before him.

Maybe that was why he'd gone after her? However that also made no sense to him in some way... as she had been nothing but the vaugest blur when she had passed him. All he'd felt was some instinct to follow, something he couldn't describe.

Resee flicked her ears, the only sort of recognition he was getting at this point. She had become rather silent in her travels, mostly because she had no one to talk to. That, of course, did not mean that she didn't have a voice. She simply chose not to let him hear it yet, as his motives were still quite unclear to the female.

Fleetingly she let her eyes wander over him. She took in his shape, his color, his attitude. She didn't know what to think of him really, other than by now he really wasn't in to harm her. She felt he would have done so sooner, instead of stalling. There were some who like to torture, that was true, but he was by no means scaring her, and so she figured there was no torture intended for her.

And if there was... well, she'd handle it accordingly.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity of waiting, the female maned wolf finally spoke.

"Why me?" The two simple words were uttered without so much as an indication from her to let him know she had spoken. He had to have been listening intently in order to hear her words, or else he just had to have extraordinary hearing. But, she figured, if he didn't make an attempt to listen to her right off, then he wasn't worth her time.
