Cygnus:Lying on her back, Kendra raised her long tail until it was just above her stomach. Softly batting it back and forth, she smiled, amused with herself."Cygnus," the red kit growled. He narrowed his eyes at the female, wondering why she was so hyper. What could possibly be so interesting? Curiosity slowly crawled into his mind, and his kit instincts began to poke at his cynical brain. Kendra popped back up onto her feet. Cocking her head at him, she smiled. She was slightly taken aback by the look on his face, which seemed to be half disgust, half wonder. Making a mental note to tone down a bit, she said quietly, "Nice to meet you." Slowly growing bored with standing and chatting she added, "Would you care to play?"
Kendra threw a sideways glance at Danzo, who was walking towards the mostly black kit by the pond. Jealousy crept over her. Comforting herself, Kendra thought, "Oh well, I don't need him anyways. I've got a new buddy now!" "Play?" Cygnus repeated. "Play what? How?" He barely even knew what 'play' meant. He flicked his tail and his eyes looked over the others again. They all seemed so... hmm. He needed to learn more words, but everyone seemed different than the next. "Play! Like, I run, you chase me!" Kendra beamed at him. She was beginning to like Cygnus more and more, even if he was a little bit of a downer. He seemed interesting to her. Hopping in a full circle, she stopped to face him again, then softly hit the crown of his head with the plush tip of her tail. Bounding off, Kendra hoped that Cygnus would catch on and chase her.Her tail was fluffy. The way it bounced as he ran compelled his little mind to chase after her. He leaped forward, enjoying the feeling of running and chasing after her. "You can't get away!" he called to her, hoping it would scare her or something like that. Would it?Kendra looked over her shoulder, and noticed, much to her delight, that Cygnus was running a little ways behind her. Hearing his cry, she turned around, continuing to skip backwards, and stuck her small pink tongue out at him. Wiggling her nose a little bit, then turning back around, she thought to herself. His taunting had reminded her that she really didn't know how much longer she could keep up the pace at which she was running, and Cygnus was obviously faster than her. Noticing a small patch of brush to her left, she ducked into it, giggling quietly.Cygnis was taken aback as she stuck her tongue out at her, and that second was all she needed to dart away under a bust. Drat. He dove in after her, feeling the leaves tickle his fur as he tried to locate Kendra. "Shh! I'm hiding!" Kendra hissed at Danzo. Hearing Cygnus rifling through the bush, she crawled further back into the foliage. Suddenly, she popped out onto the other side, in what seemed to be the clearing of a forest. Scampering on top of a large boulder, she perched, waiting for Cygnus to find her.
As she waited, Kendra began to groom herself. Licking her sleek, dark coat, she flicked her tail back and forth along the surface of the boulder, all the while keeping at least one eye intently locked onto the opening of the bush. Cygnus sniffed around the underside of the bush, wondering where she went to. He looked up a little, but couldn't see too well. He went to the trunk of the bush and began to climb it, his eyes searching for Kendra.With that she pounced off the boulder and situated herself behind it, laughing as she saw the bush swaying under Cygnus's weight.The red modifox climbed the bush shakily, his little claws scraping at the limbs. Twice he almost fell and scrambled to keep hold of his perch. Finally, his head popped through the top and he growled in frustration. She wasn't under or in the bush. He looked around and saw Danzo on a rock nearby. Hmm. That didn't matter either. "Where's Kendra?" he asked, hoping Danzo could hear him. Peeking around the boulder, Kendra's eye caught a glance of Cygnus's red and black head searching back and forth, above the brush. He looked frustrated, and oddly it amused her. Oh no! Perhaps Danzo would reveal her hiding place to Cygnus. Trembling and trying hard to stiffen her giggles, she flattened herself against the cool back of the boulder. Kendra, blissfully smiling behind the rock, was very glad Danzo had kept her cover. "Mrrmpf!" Uh oh...A strange laugh had just forced it's way up from Kendra's throat and out of her lips. Praying that Cygnus had not heard, she sunk lower to the ground, ears tilted back. Hearing instructions, Cygnus nodded in thanks and looked down. The bush seemed much harder to get down from. He sank into the branches, rustling them so bad with his half-fall half0climb down that he didn't hear Kendra's laugh.
By the time he got to the bottom, he was so disoriented that he didn't remember which way Danzo had pointed. "Well that was useless," he muttered and decided he would simply wait under the bush for her to find him again. Obviously this "play" wasn't so easy as he thought.Danzo:Kendra opened her eyes, slowly taking in her surroundings. She recoiled slightly upon seeing a small purple and blue pup. Meekly, she crept over to him, prodding his leg with her nose and squeaking.Danzo looked from his resting to find another Modifox right next to him. He raised his head slightly and stared at her. Mmm? Who are you? Danzo asked, still a little sleepy. Overjoyed that her sleepy new friend had awakened, Kendra bounced to and fro. "I'm Kendra!" she almost yelled. Bounding around Danzo, she added "We're gonna be BEST FRIENDS!"
Lavandar looked up from the grass she had been twisting in her hands, and glanced over at Kendra, giggling lightly at the Modifox's silly behavior."Best friends?" Danzo perked up. "Why do you think we'll be best friends?" He asked, while watching Kendra bouncing around. "I don't even know your name."
He noticed another kit, a red and black one, sitting close by and growling. Danzo wondered what was wrong with him. "Well! You know my name now!" Kendra sputtered. Noticing Danzo's attention had been deterred, she turned in the direction he was looking. A small red and black kit, who didn't look very happy, was sitting alone. Deciding she would cheer him up, Kendra hopped over to him. "What's your name?" she said fondly. Kendra looked over her shoulder, and noticed, much to her delight, that Cygnus was running a little ways behind her. Startled, he leaped back and spat out some berry mush.
"What are you doing?" He asked. "Shh! I'm hiding!" Kendra hissed at Danzo. Hearing Cygnus rifling through the bush, she crawled further back into the foliage. "Is being on a big rock the best place to hide?" Danzo asked as he tried to scamper up its side."Huh?" Kendra said, as she glanced down the slope of the boulder at him. "I suppose it's not really..." Kendra said sheepishly. "If I went behind it, would you mind keeping an eye out for Cygnus for me?" With that she pounced off the boulder and situated herself behind it, laughing as she saw the bush swaying under Cygnus's weight.Danzo blinked in confusion as Kendra hid behind the boulder. He turned to find Cygnus searching for her in the bush and sighed. Why was he all childish all of the sudden?
He climbed up the boulder with some difficulty and watched him search for Kendra.Peeking around the boulder, Kendra's eye caught a glance of Cygnus's red and black head searching back and forth, above the brush. He looked frustrated, and oddly it amused her. Oh no! Perhaps Danzo would reveal her hiding place to Cygnus. Whatever he said would upset either Cygnus or Kendra. And he didn't want to start out a friendship on a bad note.
"... I don't know." He said, his voice shaking. "Maybe... she went that way?" Danzo pointed to a random direction with his paw. He hope that Cygnus wouldn't get back at him for this. Kendra, blissfully smiling behind the rock, was very glad Danzo had kept her cover. "Mrrmpf!" Uh oh...A strange laugh had just forced it's way up from Kendra's throat and out of her lips. Praying that Cygnus had not heard, she sunk lower to the ground, ears tilted back. Toki: ---- Ari: Noticing that one of the pups had left, Kendra turned to face the other. "Hi there, I'm Kendra! What's your name?" she stammered, awkwardly hopping from foot to foot. Eying all of the fun things surrounding them, she was eager to get moving onto something more entertaining. Just then, a nice patch of clover caught her eye, and her mind moved onto the thought of how nice it would be to just soak in the sun, munching on the delicacy. Shaking the ideas out of her mind, she looked back at the fox. "So?""My name is Ari."
She seemed so impatient, asking his name, and then barely giving him time to reply. Did she really have that much energy? Was she as hyper and as spastic as Anrea?
"What's your name?""Kendra! I told you! Silly thing!" she mused. "So, guess what? I'm gonna get a TATTOO soon!!! And maybe even some piercings! Pretty cool, huh? Huh?" She was excited about the fact, and was ready to share it with anyone who would listen. Suddenly, the navy fox blushed, realizing how childish of an impression she must be leaving on her new acquaintance. Changing her tone, she added, "Well, I'm just going to soak in the sun over on that nice boulder down to the left a ways, if you'd like to come."Had she? He had been so lost in thoughts of why Toki insisted on using that strange word with his name that he really hadn't been giving Keandra his full attention.
She seemed extremely excited about her coming tattoos and possible piercings, which just made her seem all that more similar to Anrea.
But then Kendra seemed to calm down a little after that. Maybe she wasn't as bad as his owner, after all.
"It sounds like it might be enjoyable." He would try it, and see if he liked it. Although it sounded like something very calming, so he supposed he probably would enjoy soaking in the sun."Alright, come on then" said Kendra, hoping she sounded mature. She turned her back on Ari, and, raising her tail high in what she considered to be a distinguished manner, she set off at a good pace in the direction of the boulder. Coming upon the patch of bushes that separated the field they were in and the clearing that contained the boulder, she ducked lightly, crouching low as to avoid hitting her head on the branches. It was much harder to creep through this brush than she remembered, from her chase game with Cygnus, that seemed so far ago now. Finally through the other side, she strode over to the boulder, which was gleaming in the sun, and hoisted herself upon it, stretching her back in a comfortable position. Poised, she waited for Ari.Ari followed Keandra through the bush easily, since he was a lot smaller than she was. She seemed a lot calmer now, so maybe it was just the idea of tattoos and piercings that excited her? It was better than Anrea, who got excited at everything, at least.
Ari climbed up on the boulder with a bit of difficulty, but he finally managed to get on top of it, next to Keandra.Smirking slightly at the little fox's difficulty in mounting the rock, she muttered "Good job." Kendra laid her paw down to rest, and gently lowered her head onto it, so she was looking towards Ari. She smoothed her ears back, and her tail had been pressed onto the boulder's surface. Exhaling slowly, she pondered about Cygnus, where he was, if they would be in the same tribe. Remembering Ari was still there, she struck up a conversation. "So, have you been back here before? It's nice sun, eh?""No, I haven't." He hadn't gone much further than the field where he had just been, as far as he could remember. He didn't mind, though, since the field was a nice place to be.
"The sun is very nice."
He supposed he should talk some more, but what was there to talk about, really? Just the game of tic tac toe that he had just played, and Toki. Not much at all.
