As you may know, many people think guitar is better than bass, for whatever reason, like my friend once said, "Well, bass only has 4 strings...That's like two less than guitar!"
Discussion: What made you like bass more than guitar? [Or any other instrument]

ooo! with guitar, you just hear it in your ears, but with bass, it flows through you and shakes you brain and soul! and the sound it gives off is so low and awsome. I dunno if i explained that well enough, but you can feel the vibration of the bass, unlike the guitar.
Plus... bass is way sexy.

i guess the bass just seemed so much cooler, it drew my attention when i went to a guitar shop with my brohter.

Bass may have 2 strings less... but there is still more that could be done on a bass than compared to a guitar. A bass can literally do everything a guitar can do but more. Being a guitarist and a bassist, I know this to be factual. 3nodding

I dunno really... I like the bass better sometimes, the guitar better sometimes. It really depends what mood I'm in (lol). The bass gets such a deep, mellow tone, which I like. It goes straight to your soul. The guitar on the other hand, I usually play when I'm feeling... oh I dunno... rebelyish. (New word) I like that when I'm feeling upbeat, where the bass when I'm feeling sad or down... the bass reminds me of the blues. I dunno why.
So.... it just depends what mood I'm in really.

The bass is more about feeling, the guitar is whiny, and screechy. But bass, you just feel the vibes, you feel it inside of you, in your heart and soul.

I find that how the bass fits into a song is more fun to play (at least for me).

i play bass cuz i'm horrible and 6 strings is 2 complicated for me.

6-string guitars aren't too complicated. I find playing on my brother's 7-string a lot harder...

Well, I always thought bass was really cool.
But one day my friend was going on about how his guitar was the coolest and was the best instrument better.
I said "F*** that" and bought a bass. (I wanted one anyway, this just gave me the drive to get it)
He now agrees that bass is much cooler.

i hate when people say things like guitar is easyer then bass..its true if you play like butt...but honistly...teh 2 strings dont make a diffrence at all...

I originally started on guitar, but I only played the lower strings.... I just left out the top 2 or 3 altogether... which is what got me into bass. I like the low, mellow tone, but sometimes I like the higher tone of the guitar, as I have already stated. I'm just thinking some of you are just biased, highly or not, to anything but the bass. For those of you who are heavily biased, broaden your horizons a little. I used to be heavily biased towards everything but guitar. I took a break from that, and got into bass. See? It's good to open up your mind to new things every once in a while.
