Does anyone know the difference between the two words? What do the words mean? These words have always gotten to me in school.

Antonym is a word that means the opposite to another, and a synonym is a word that means the same.
eg. An antonym for "good" is "bad". A synonym for "good" is "kind". smile

Antonyms are words that are opposite. For example the antonym for "yes" is "no".A synonym are two words that are different, but have the same meaning like "beautiful" and "pretty" are synonyms;they mean the same thing.
