Despite Catherine's choice of conservative clothes, her days as an interior designer has taught her to dress in a pleasant and presentable, though not overly professional, manner. Comfortable clothes are a favourite, in anywhere from white, black, green or yellow - and an occasional pink or brown.
Occupation: Part-time interior designer
Skills: Anything and everything relating to keeping places neat, tidy and well decorated. She has also developed the skills to whip up delicious yet nutritious meals - something she had learnt in order to manage Cody's strict diet due to his MS
Interests: Decorating, cooking, maintaining gardens(though she has never been good at it)
Likes: Keeping things in order, tidiness, decorating, the countryside, nature, mental and physical activities...
Dislikes: Disobedience, mess, large noisy crowds, creepy crawlies, 'naked' animals (eg nake mole rat), pollution, being rushed and pushed too hard, claustrophobic areas...
Personality: Over-protective, but that is only expected from a mother of an MS patient. She is strict in setting up rules and making sure they are followed, though she does give Cody space from time to time.
And unlike Cody and his (late) father, Catherine is one who values neatness, and will give much of her time to tidy up messes and keep the house looking well-organized and in order. As a result, she likes to 'mess around' the house, re-arranging furnitures and items much too often.
She is neither optimistic nor pessimistic but rather in between, though this depends largely on the occassion. Catherine is generally calm but cautious. However, sometimes she found herself unable to keep to the former, and she hates this feeling of not being able to control her feelings. That, along with her tendency to 'loose it' in dangerous situations(unless have to protect someone), is one of her weaknesses.

Why.... a subject? The reason Catherine should find herself a a test subject is entirely done by Birvan.

After Catherine received the notice stating that Cody died during the experiment, the couple were in a lot of pain for losing their only child. Adding to that pain, Cody's father passed away during a car accident a month or two later.
Catherine slipped into a state of depression and gradually lost contact with her friends and what little family she has left. Approaching Cody's birthday, she wanted to have her son's body returned to her so she could give him a proper burial next to his father.
At first they(at Feral Labs) would likely have refused her request, but as she became more insistent and started to attract unwanted attention, they offered her a trip to the island to formalise the papers to allow the body to be transported between countries.
However, instead of taking care of formal papers and receiving Cody's body, Catherine found her son was alive and well, if not a merboy. In addition, she also found herself a permanent home there, needless to say as a test subject.

Species: Polar bear (Ursus maritimus)
Description: Large bear with a short tail and small ears. Polar bears have an elongated body with low, well-developed shoulders. They have a long thin but well developed neck, highly developed hindquarters and a straight profile. They are also equipped with large paws. Polar bears are primarily white with black nose/muzzle tip and paw pads.
Size: Males are 8 to 11 feet long and weigh 500 to 1,100 pounds but can reach as much as 1,500 pounds. Females are smaller, measuring 6 to 8 feet long, and weigh from 350 to 600 pounds, occasionally reaching 700 pounds.
Habitat: The entire circumpolar Arctic region is polar bear habitat. They are equally comfortable in the water and on land. Polar bears can be found on pack ice, coastal islands, coastlines and even out in Arctic waters. They are exceptional swimmers and have been observed in the sea more than 100 miles from the nearest land or pack ice.
Diet: Strictly carnivorous. Their primary prey is the ringed seal though they also take bearded, harp and hooded seals and the occasional walrus youngster. They will also scavenge walrus and whale carcasses.
Vocalization: Chuff(agitated), hiss/rumbling growl(anger, unease), roar(aroused), purr(contented), bellow/roar(hurt), shriek/squall/whimper (upset), silence(displaying respect)

.. Unlike most other animals, polar bears are not territorial

.. Polar bears are the largest predators on land, and they are the largest of all bears
.. Only humans prey on polar bears.
